  1. Working on one myself for the 2JZGTE car. Hopefully I will have some results by the end of the week.. running out of time before SEZS6!!
  2. Very good bolt on package... http://www.arizonazcar.com/brake.html
  3. http://www.sdsefi.com/techegt.htm Good EGT/wideband article
  4. I thought I heard something similar as well. The 6-speed is geared for the 3.54 Z33 diff and first gear is super low/short (we just bought an Ultra Yellow 05 6-speed Enthusiast model 350Z for my wife over the weekend). The Z32 diff is pretty stout and is geared for a 3.70 diff... Either tranny would be a step up from the choices we have now. Also, the earlier Z's are significantly lighter than the 300zx's or 350Z's, further extending the life of the tranny...
  5. Perhaps for display...depends on how busy he is the next few weeks as to whether or not he can squeeze me in... Adaptor may be ready, but it will not be in the car by then.
  6. ecp48- Garrett is running a KA trans behind his l28. Garrett- I just spoke to Mark (http://www.Mazworx.com) and that is his adaptor. He posted those pics last week on the SR forums. I will be bringing him an L28 bell housing to make a Z32TT trans adaptor. I am not in a major rush to put it in the car, but I'll keep you all posted as to the progress once it is made...
  7. A local guy is making those adaptors. (Don't know if it is the same guy as that one). I saw one last week in his shop... I was discussing making one for our L28's with him as well. If there is enough interest, then it would be worth making a run... Mike
  8. I drive my 77 280z turbo daily. I run 16-17 psi, a large frame T4 turbo, good engine management (TEC II), 550 injectors, good intercooler, upgraded clutch/fuel pump and cam, otherwise stock longblock and make 300+ rwhp all day long with no reliability issues. As Clifton said, you can make very reliable horsepower on pump gas, as long as you keep detonation at bay.
  9. Easiest way to tell if it is an LSD, is to turn one axle and if the other turns the same direction, then it is an LSD (or has been welded). If the other wheel turns the opposite direction, then it is an open diff.
  10. The spacer my add to the spring tension, but may cause binding in the spring as well with a large lift cam. Also, make sure that your valve springs are installed in the correct direction with the end of tighter wound coils down. I didn't realize that it made a difference until I was informed that they are progressive
  11. BTW, anyone have a lightly used 2mm head gasket they want to part with?? Justa thought Mike
  12. ~$150 new... http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CP&Category_Code=s30_nismo_headgasketL28 $60 for shipping!! That has to be a mistake...
  13. Definately don't short yourself on an intercooler. There is plenty of room for an intercooler up front, take advantage of it. I agree, the one Clifton linked to is a better choice and is nearly the same $... Just my $.02
  14. Good to hear from you James!! I have been keeping tabs on you via Scottie and Rick down here in Fl. Keep the updates coming as you make progress and congrats on landing the p/m job in SC. Sounds like an amazing project in the works...
  15. Wow $250 per stock stub axle huh... whew... , so ~ $500 for the pair might have been worth considering a billet set from Ross for < $200 more http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=62 Oh well, as blueoval said. "Another happy ending"
  16. I ran 550cc rx-7 injectors in the Pallnet rail. The larger 'green' o-rings which came w/ the injectors were too tight, so I went to a smaller o-ring (acquired from a local diesel injection shop) and they slid right in... no leaks... regarding the fitment, I remember I had to take the efi manifold off of the car and drill out the injector holes where the pintle caps go as they were larger than the stockers, and used the stock lower o-rings, and had no fitment issues... The injectors did not move up and down once the fuel rail was tightened down. In fact, I sold that rail, injector and manifold combo to a buddy and did the mods all over for myself using another rail, 550 injectors and manifold. Again, no fitment issues. Mike.
  17. You'll always be "an unknown quantity" to me Scottie
  18. You should get close to 300 rwhp, maybe over depending on the tune...at 15 psi.
  19. I would suggest taking your manifold to a cylinder head/ machine shop to true it up prior to install. That should take care of your manifold gasket problems... Oh, and yes, use the Nissan gasket!!
  20. Bummer about the missing slugs.... but surely you can get together a stock longblock for the SEZ event!! I remember Rick (Speeder) throwing a longblock together in 3 days just in time to make the event ....
  21. Well, I think it depends on the threads of the fittings. I believe the Aeromotive filter is threaded for an A/N and not NPT. If it is, then you may need an O-ring, like you would use with an Aeromotive FPR.
  22. Did you use an o-ring between the filter and the a/n fitting?
