  1. Those are the same 285's I have under my ZG's on a 10" rim. They are pretty sticky for a street tire as well (but they are still no match for the 2JZ or RB26 in your case )
  2. check with some venders in http://www.car-part.com that have 81-83 diesel Maximas. I have purchased a few over the years through them. Generally, people are not looking for the diesel Maxima motors, just the crankshafts, so the j/y's will occasionally just drop the crank and sell it by itself for $150-$250... It is also easier for them to package and ship.
  3. That is how many sellers save money on their Ebay items. Instead of having to pay fees on a $35 item, they'll sell it for $5, and charge $30 shipping, so they only owe Ebay fees on 5 bucks. It is kind of a way to put a little more money in their pockets...
  4. Check the other side of the block under the manifolds next to the engine mount bracket, there should be an engine code there (N42, N47, F54, etc)
  5. I have the 235/60/15 BFG's mounted on the 83 turbo wheel. They do not rub the spring perch, but you may have to roll the fender lip to get the tires to clear the fenders...
  6. Wow, I hadn't even considered the auto tranny, but I don't see why the bell housing and adaptor would not work the same way... I just do not know how the tranny itself (shift points, etc) is controlled (Z32 ECU?)
  7. Contact James http://www.speedshopthagard.com He was/is an authorized dealer of Spearco cores. I don't know if he is making any more intercoolers (made mine, Joel's and JT's), but I'm pretty sure he can still purchase the cores for a decent price. Check my album for photos to see the intercooler he did up for me. It is a pretty large core. http://album.hybridz.org/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=7981 BTW, he recently moved to SC as well.
  8. 1. send Z32 bell housing 2. receive modded bell housing with adaptor plate, shifter bracket, and tranny mount 3. Your existing turbo clutch should work (Z32 has the same spline count as the L28 tranny) 4. You will have to have your own driveshaft made for the correct length once the tranny is installed in your car. It is a common output spline for driveshaft shops. We have a local driveshaft place here in Orlando and custom shafts run between $250 and $300. 5. Depending on what you have to pay for your driveshaft and tranny itself, I figure the whole swap should cost no more than $1200-$1500
  9. Here's the thread that I am updating as info becomes available... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=103698
  10. That kicks butt Ken!! I can't wait for the mag to arrive
  11. I dropped by the shop yesterday. He has my block, bell housing, starter, etc and will be working on it after the holiday weekend. mike
  12. Beautiful car and a bargain for that price!! G/L with the sale
  13. The Zupra and I will be there.. Mike
  14. If you have access to an LM-1 (or similar), put the wideband on it and see what it is doing (lean, rich, etc). It is a good diagnosis tool as well as tuning tool...

    350z?

I love the 05 350z we have. It handles well, looks good and is very easy to drive. We didn't buy it for the horsepower. We bought it for a nice all around sports car that we would both enjoy. It is as nice riding on the passengers side as it is driving it. It really feels like a lot of car for the money. There are plenty of other cars out there for less that you can make some serious HP with bolt on upgrades that won't break the bank. We plan on keeping ours for a long time. Besides, if I want to go fast, I'll get in one of the cars I built myself
  16. It could easily be a rod/rod beaing. It wil not necessarily "lock up", but will continuously get worse and worse (louder and louder).
  17. Yep, read the tutorial, and nice write-up BTW, but I am ready for a tranny that I do not have to worry about babying or breaking. The SR and KA guys making serious power are getting away from their trannys as well and going to the Z32 5-speed.
  18. impressive car... one side note, I just saw CFT's Evo VIII run low 10's @ 144 mph last weekend in the 1/4 during the Funday Sunday waiting marathon...
  19. I am not sure of the bell housing bolt patterns, but Mark said that he could do the Z33 adaptor as well, just send him the bell...you may have to do the tranny mount for your car for the Z33 as I am unsure of dimensions, but that would be the easy part
