Maybe we should gauge interest in a group buy... I believe Clark will be in need of a set of forgies as well. Maybe I could swinhg by tomorrow night and check out the sound and see if we can figure out where it is coming from...

Yep, all good
Regarding testing the valve seats, well, there really is no way w/o disassembling the head... I mean you should be able to tell from the noise whether or not it is coming from the head area, or from the block area.
Had a head drop a valve seat once...I had similar issues. I guess when the head and valve seat expanded from the heat, the seat would stay in place. When the engine was cold, I would get a bunch of clatter from as loose valve seat.
hey Cyrus, sorry to hear about the nagging problem... You may want to try posting on the SupraForums.com board in the MKIV technical section. Since you are using the stock electronics, someone there may be able to better assist you.
G-luck,
mike
WELCOME BACK TOMAHAWK!! Glad to hear that you made it out safe and sound. I have followed this thread throughout and was hoping you would post upon your release.

I had to do some funky programming of my fuel curve after 4500 rpm's too. I believe I actually had to ramp down the fuel values slightly to get the a/f correct. Mine was not boost related either. Anyway, you should be able to tune it by slightly lowering the fuel values where it is too rich.
Unless you really have a hard on for the low vin # and badges, I say go for the 72. From your description, it sounds like the better platform for beginning your project.
Just my $.02
I PM'd you as I have an early 71 gas tank. It is out of the car and in good shape. I do not know if I would be able to ship a used gas tank. I may have to have it hot tanked, etc first. Where are you located?

I know I have posted this before, but not all Walbro 255lph fuel pumps are created equal. If you want the inline pump, then the part number is GSL-392 for the high pressure, high volume pump. Here's a link...

The intake/exhaust port pattern is the same. I used an E88 head at one time and EFI'd it... I had to notch the intake ports for the injectors and drill and tap the head for the 4 upper bolts. That was all there was to it, so YES, it can be done.

I understand that the Nissan BW T-5 isn't any stronger then the n/a Nisan 5-speed. If you have both, I would probably use the n/a tranny... Just my .02
Very interesting article Afshin!!
The Spearco cored intercooler like the one in this Ebay listing is probably the "best bang for buck" intercooler I have found

These guys sell a ton of them. They are very efficient, rated 1180cfm and will support nearly 800hp, and they sell them for ~$200 less than everyone else including turbonetics... they just don't have the spearco name on their end tanks
