  1. Oh forgot to say my tranny is a WC t-5 but I still need to cut out the mounts for clearance issues.
  2. On your t5's did you use the Camaro driveshaft or the stock and how much did you have it shortened?
  3. I'm going to cut out my mount today when I get home since I just got my tranny mount made last night. Mine is a 76 as well so if you can wait a day or so I should have some good pics for you.
  4. Oh yeah thats a repost but hard not to see it still
  5. Deffinatly better than the 78 black pearl. I have a set of gold snows on my Zed right now.
  6. Agreed that price for that much work is not a good idea. I would pay no more than $2500 for that and most of it would be just for parts.
  7. Don't change that color! thats an original ZAPP car, it was a special eddition in 77 i believe.
  8. I used a HF gun for when I did my primer, I liked the way it flowed and spayed. I need to resand it down and respray but that will be much later on.
  9. Love the idea of it. Can't wait to see what other pics you have when done.
  10. My car was that color when I bought it. The original color was metallic blue so it can be done.
  11. Yeah a roundtrip ticket can't be beat. Even though your car is not a Z its still something cool to hear/learn about. Now if you owned a Mustang that would be a different story.
  12. Hey sideways its travis aka skittle from sincityz. Hope you find what you are looking for. Have you checked out zforceproductions yet?
  13. If you want I can swing by Renegade to see what they have to offer for you. I need some exhaust work done anyhow.
  14. Cool, i like the fact that they said that the l28 had a 5-year run. How does 75 thru 83 equal 5 years? GLWS that car is perdy.
  15. the WC T5 came out in 88-92 after that it went to the t56.
  16. ^^^ Agreed, renegades here in vegas? wow I will have to check them out.
  17. You do know that last post was supposed to say 8/17/2010 right?? it is now 2230 (1030pm) on the 17th of august, other than that good going!
  18. Welcome to the Snotrod Project. The story begins with a 1976 Datsun 280Z. She started her life as a stock Z with an L28E motor and 4 speed transmissionand painted a light metallic blue. After a few years her owner decided that she needed to be painted a dark maroonish red color. She did not like that at all so she moved on to a new owner. The new owner kept her in good condition but do to bills had to sell her to a friend. This new owner decided that she needed to be converted to dual SU carbarators and have her modified with 6-1 headers. After about a year the new owner decided that she needed to go. This is where I come in to the picture. I drove my new love for a few months with the Carbs but then I was offered a great deal on a turbo setup. I bought an 1983 280ZX turbo longblock with a rebuilt engine and turbo. Well as luck would have it the wiring harness decided to catch on fire. I ended up having to buy a standalone EFI system by the name of Megasquirt. So my new girl had a lobatomy and a facelift with an MSA type 3 body kit, and 81 turbo rims. 15 months has since past and "Snotrod" decided she needed some more upgrades. She ended up on deciding to get a FMIC and Manual boost controller. This allowed her to get some more get up and go to the tune of 12psi of boost. She also decided to get some interior mods as well by installing 1994 Mazda Miata seats, a 1987 Carrol Shelby Steering wheel, and a new Sony Xplod stereo. Now we come to the current time. Snotrod decided that even though turbo was fun she wanted more power and decided to get a new heart in the tune of a 1994 Camaro Z28 LT1 with a World Class Borg Warner T-5 transmission. Of course this new heart had to have a new brain to go with it as well. So I ended up spending alittle more on a custom standalone wiring harness with a "chipped" ECU. Snotrod still sits in surgery awaiting for her new engine mounts by JTR, and few other things are being done before the swap can be continued. Also we all know that most women always like to change their looks my babe is doing just that. I know its taboo this day in age but my girl wants to go wide with the IMSA kit. (type 3 kit is for sale now with bre spoiler)
  19. Harbor frieght sells a cheapish soda blaster doodad. I am thinking of going that route for small parts or even my hood.
  20. Since they are plastic I would just use some steel wool and a scotch bright pad. Some "goo gone" might help as well.
