  1. my friend was looking at that in the classified sections. he wants a z or a 510 so badly...he bought a 2005 lancer ES, and is mad that nobody really makes aftermarket parts for them yet.
  2. i was looking at that thread a while ago about the oldschool wheels, and i thought those sakura wheels were pretty sweet... problem is they're rare and we all know rare= expensive... so i had this idea... get autocad [working on that right now] learn it design the "sakura" centers get them cut in a cnc machine [my buddy is supposed to be getting one.. we'll see if he does or not] he said he'd do stuff for pretty cheap for me get some 2 piece wheel shells with a nice deep lip...15x7...15x8...15x10 whateva unbolt the centers bolt in the sakura centers get them balanced have cool unique wheels this is all hypothetical at the moment, kinda thinking out loud....any reason why it wouldn't work? if it doesn't work out i'll just get some rewinds, or some mesh wheels...
  3. so the best bet is to get an electrician over here to put some plugs in...
  4. bump, i'm curious about the green squares too. and about the posts... was it that they were counting non tech posts for a while, and then stopped counting them again?
  5. my unit is powered by one of those "big plugs" [ thats the technical term for it] which is 220v i guess, and my welder came with a little electrical box that it's special cord plugs into, so we were thinking of getting a 220v dryer cord, and putting the electrical box [that the welder plugs into] on the end, and plugging into that. we'll make a more permanent solution later on, but would this work for now?
  6. i'll cross my nuts for you two. lol
  7. awesome vid, i've been watching the thread hioping someone woudl post it...
  8. i like option 4... i'll check if the fwd bellhousing bolts up...maybe it does...
  9. lucky! is that a pantera hatch?
  10. well i've got quite the connundrum here... i've asked on the sr20 forums, but theyr'e a bunch of idiots that don't want to fabricate ANYTHING... you guys are always much more reasonable/open minded so here goes contrary to what some people have told me...my tranny [s15 6speed] doesn't exactly bolt up to my engine fwd [sr16ve] goal... [sr20vet rwd] about half of the bolts line up. and i think i've got a few options here. 1st is sell my block and get a rwd sr20 block [kinda worried about trying to find a block thats in as nice of condition as mine, that won't also be super exspensive] but who knows.. maybe i'll make some money on that one... Easiest^ 2nd is modify the bellhousing by building up some metal with welding, and re-drill the holes with a drill press, this would also require some exstensive modification to fit the starter... i don't mind some work... but i don't want to go crazy trying to get this thing to fit. cheapest^ [as it is i've got more time than money...but that might change.] 3rd is... have an adapter plate made? a buddy of mine's going to be getting a cnc machine sometime later this year he says... but then how exactly would the clutch engage with the transmission input shaft... i can't imagine that not changing anything about how the car shifts with them being further apart and all... possible? just throwing it out there. here's some pics. what do you guys think?
  11. The welder just came about an hour ago, my welding teacher's gonna help me get a deal on an argon bottle. this thing cost almost twice as much as my car lol...
  12. if you go the to website there's spelling mistakes in the car's specs apexera power fc lol
  13. looks cool! wanna make one for an Sr20VE?
  14. ::ahem:: vvvv >>> http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=111258 <<<< ^^^^
  15. actually i think thats the car they're using in the upcoming transformers movie.
  16. i love how datsun drills all those holes in the sheetmetal, makes them look like racecars..
  17. a dynasty is what i originally wanted, but i just couldn't muster up the dough. i plan on making an aluminum dash too btw... using some of the drafting skills i learned in a sheetmetal pre-apprentice class.
  18. thanks...lol i've been reading too much lately... no more computer stints until 4am..
  19. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7619311493 cant wait to get this baby home so i can finally get some work done. now 1 question, since the majority of welding i will be doing will be on mild steel, should i use a large C02 bottle [since it's cheaper] , and get a smaller argon bottle for aluminum? [stainless too?] or just use argon all the time?
  20. you talking about the tail light trim sitting on the engine?
