  1. J, That looks like it would be some fun with a nitros shot to get it spooling. I really like the looks of you Z. I take it that is a fiberglass front bumper. Hwo did you mount it? Where did you get it (MSA?) and which front spoiler is that. I actually am going to the same look for my '77 280. What did you do for the rear bumper? Thanks. Sorry for going off subject but your Z is exactly what I have been getting ready to do.
  2. Take your time doing this. If your paint is good, then you will want to heat it up with a heat gun first. If you don't there could be a chance that the paint around the lip will crack and peel off. Take your time and it will come out fine.
  3. Nice and clean. Man I can't wait to see my mine like that one day.
  4. Great looking run there Jersey. I can wait to see that thing in action live. I will be working on the Z the next few weekends trying to get it closer to running condition. I am hoping we can run this year.
  5. That would be an interesting car to drive. I wonder if it's power band is all top or can it pull down low. Smoken em on the dyno is pretty cool, though.
  6. Well you guys can choose, but I want both! 8) If your gonna have it, you might as well as have it all.
  7. Nice times. What does that come out to in the 1/4 mi. Looks like you whooped up on those guys. Those nittos really hook up. I am going to have to get a set. Thanks for the videos. Always good to see a Z'er taking to everyone.
  8. Great Job Jersey! I wish I could have gone but the wife is very close to having our baby (like any day) and I don't like going too far away if she decides its time to go to the hospital. I should have the car on the road before the summer is over. I hope we can hook up at the track this fall so we can have some races against each other.
  9. Man, that really sucks! That is the one thing that worries me about buying things long distance. There are just too many people with no morals any more. I hope that guy gets his money back!
  10. The real difference, as far as most guys are concerned, is ease of installment. The clutch type can use 280 shafts while the viscous is a little more challenging. It requires us of eagle premier (I think its the premier) shafts from a v6 car. There is a good article on it on 240Z Turbos sight. I think someone went over it on Hybrid Z, as well. As far as performance I think you would do well with either.
  11. All of those movies are great. But Saving Private Ryan has got to be one of the best. I think every kid should see that movie. When they are storming the beach and just getting mowed down, kids just don't understand how lucky we are today. People just don't respect their elders like they should, especially when they had to go through crap like that!
  12. There are way too many scum bags on this earth. I tell you what, My wife and I are moving to the country in the next year or two and buying a house with at least 10 acres. I don't want anyone near me, and if they cross my property line they better be able to outrun a 40 cal bullit from my glock. Sorry that had to happen to you Mike. Hope the cops catch em.
  13. Very nice car! Looks like the exhaust is pretty tidy too. So is the bike yours too, you must enjoy speed. Like none of us do.
  14. I hate to break it to you but that looks like a viscous type to me. I am the guy who just bought the clutch type (under the other post) and the hole I have is much bigger (signifying that it is a clutch type). According to Dave These pictures are of a R200LSD with clutches (What you want) http://12.224.138.77:8884/files/datsun/Diff/lsdside3.jpg http://12.224.138.77:8884/files/datsun/Diff/lsdside1.jpg This is a Viscious R200LSD (notice the much smaller hole) http://12.224.138.77:8884/files/datsun/Diff/viscousside.jpg Sorry about the bad news, but you can still use the diff. There are a bunch of guys using them, and loving them. You'll just need to get a few more pieces to put it in the car. Just do a search and you'll find the info you'll need. Good luck.
  15. Picked up my diff the other day. First thing I did was pull the caps to see if I soulc look through. There was a wide open view. Thanks for the info Dave! Now I have to pull it apart and see if it needs a rebuild. Thanks for all the help guys.
  16. That is alotta wheel under there. Man I gotta get me a set of those.
  17. That site is pretty cool. Not only does he have pictures of that ugly vette, but he has a page were he is doing a synthetic oil test. The basis of the test is how long can you keep synthetic oil and a filter in a car before it degrades to the point of needing to be changed. He is using NAPA gold filters and Mobil 1 right now (he will try Amsoil, royal purple, and redline). The car is a 2002 Camaro with LS1 engine. He put 12k mi on the same filter and oil before the lab said it was time to change. He is still using the oil he just changed the filter and should have a report soon. VERY interesting stuff. You guys can come to own conclusions, but I have always been a firm beleiver is synthetic.
  18. That's pretty funny I like the little slap action.
  19. To bad the movie stinks so bad. I wish someone could come out with a decent racing/driving movie. Biker Boys was the exact same thing. A bunch of crap just to make some money and give another false outlook on the "race scene". Oh well, maybe one day someone will get smart and make something worth watching. Until then I will stick with the classics like Grand Prix.
  20. Did the story ever say why it was eating people? Animals in general don't eat people, they will kill them, but not eat them. I guess we just don't taste good. That was one sick picture, though.
  21. I've seen videos of that K car before. It is hilareous listening to the crowd just going crazy when it launches of the line. That's what I want my car to do. 8)
  22. I love how they tied the front lowers on. Man oh man what a way to make fun of some of the crap you see.
  23. Jersey, That looks like nice work. That should help that turbo breath a little more. Question for the other guys. Where are you getting your 3" mandrel bent pipe made. A lot of places stop at 2 1/2". Can I go to Midas and get 3", or are you guys going to specialty speed shops. Thanks for the info.
  24. Where the hell do you guys find this stuff. Funny as all hell, but how do you find it. Not to mention what language is that?
  25. Man oh man. What I wouldn't do to get my hands on a bunch of those cars.
