  1. I dislike the idea of a MLS just because I'd rather pop a gasket than break ringlands. I think I might stick with a nissan hg.
  2. Bought a new grant steering wheel today, and im trading my old headers for a t3 spacer and external waste gate. It's slowly coming together, every paycheck I've been putting away a little money. Sometime next month I will most likely begin assembling the engine.. The big cost is going to be the ARP hardware and possibly a metal head gasket which brings me to this question: I know a guy who works at a Nissan dealership and claims he can get me a genuine Nissan head gasket for the L28et. I freaking hate fel pro gaskets, do you think a Nissan HG can hold 15-20 psi reliably? This will be with ARP head studs.

  9. I think I just really want that "Ricer slant" thing going on with my muffler. I suppose I could just go to a 4 inch stainless aeroturbine muffler, and keep the rest 3 inch.
  10. The 4 inch idea is probably just me being stupid. Ill check that out. Id like it to be pretty anyways.
  11. Over the weekend I bought an HY35 Holset turbo. Its nice because it has both the compressor outlet elbow and both oil line flanges. There is zero shaft play, but the exhaust housing is a tad rusty looking, so I'm going to try hitting it with some part cleaner and maybe take a wire wheel to it. I plan on having the wastegate welded shut and using an external wastegate. I also bought a V band adapter for it.. Plan on a 3 inch downpipe and 4 inch exhaust to a aeroturbine muffler. Things still on the list for the engine: ARP hardware MLS Meth Injection Intercooler Radiator All in good time though, I'm in no rush.

  13. Might of gotten mixed up, you are right about the hy35 being smaller.
  14. I've READ that the HX series is better than the HY. Something about more boost, faster spool and lower EGT.
  15. How do you know you aren't getting fuel? Fuel pressure gauge? You can pull the injectors and see them squirt too.
  16. You could put 6x9 speakers in your tool boxes behind the seats. That would be cool.

  18. Agreed, the differences in compression aren't a huge deal, just back off timing a bit.
  19. I've seen one of these air dams riveted onto a Z. Theres a guy with a small Z junkyard in Burleson, Texas. Asks insane prices for Zs that are halfway rusted out and just leaves them out in a field to die. Real shame.
  20. What head/block combo do you have with your current L28? Hopefully dished pistons. If you have flat tops its probably worth it to switch. It's also not terribly hard to disassemble the block and inspect the bottom end. If everything checks out all you have to do is reassemble.
