  1. Theres currently two (that I know of) z car clubs in the DFW area, Cowtown Z and Z Car Club of Texas but they are all in dallas and cowtown is in the fort worth area. I've been contemplating starting a Z club for the area north of Dallas. Personally in my family we have five z cars (71 240z, 81 280zx, 82 280zx, 2x 83 280zx), we live in Lake Dallas and would be looking to have members from Denton to Carrollton. I'm not really sure of the Z car population in these areas, but if you live around there let me know.
  2. Ensure no vacuum leaks, ensure proper fuel psi, ensure proper timing.

  4. I want to do both. I'm really curious to see what this is putting down as far as numbers, and if I can get make a sub 9 second 1/8 and a 13.xx 1/4 mile. My gasket should get here in a couple days and Ill put it on and probably tune a little bit and try to hit it up next weekend.
  5. Its a thicker gasket, stock fel pro is like either 1mm or 1.4mm. My new one is 2mm.
  6. Im running a locked dist at the moment. Already purchased the necessary part to convert my turbo dist to something megasquirt can control. I was running 25 degrees at every boost level i tried. Also my compression is 7.4, its goign to be 6.88 with my new MLS.
  7. No cylinder walls were perfect, the scoring was on the headgasket. No oil in water but I know I was burning water as it smoked like hell out the back (white smoke) and through the valve cover. Also like I said my headbolts were strangely loose. Not like really loose but didn't take me much to untorque them.
  8. Got the head off today, not completely blown but some scoring on it. The head bolts came off a little too easy.. Bought a l28 + 4 speed from bloz up today to put in the 280zx.. Got lots of work to do to it. Still needs a radiator and fuel tank/pump as well.. I'm also waiting to put in performance suspension to drop it as low as possible. Probably just going to do tokico struts/shocks. Also going to paint it black and put a big ole turbo whale tail on it.
  9. Its going to take a little bit for the oil to make it through all the passages and oil pump. I don't think you have anything to worry about..
  10. I'm looking for some used (but not destroyed) tokico struts and springs for a 280zx. I also need a radiator and a fuel tank and fuel pump for an 82.
  11. Sorry for asking more on the paint, I just think you did a really good job. Did you even sand or prime them or just spray?
  12. Just annoying things in MS. For instance, above a certain coolant temp or air temp it will force me to pull like 14% of my fuel making hot starts a *****. AFRs that fluctuate for some reason.
  13. I dont think my tune is the issue although it could be.. Afrs were in the upper 12s and i run pretty low timing... Ive heard from others that these fel pro gaskets will pop if you do more than 12 psi and i did over 15
  14. Haven't updated in awhile. Installed my huge intercooler and piping.. and managed to blow my headgasket running 15 psi! haha. It was awesome while it lasted.. I am buying a new metal headgasket tomorrow. Little sister just bought an 83 280zx.. We now have 5 datsuns in the family. Im thinking about trying to start up a Z club in north texas if anyone is interested.

  16. You don't have a receipt that shows you were charged for forged pistons?
  17. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't of done megasquirt. I would of done the z31 ECU with nistune.

  19. I think you can use any normal relay, doesn't have to be a special one. (I THINK)
  20. Yeah my fel pro never failed me with my N/A engine nor have I ever heard of them failing with mild n/a builds. Thanks for the help.
