  1. There isn't really a header that is mass produced for a Turbo Z. There are small run productions but none that are mass produced to my knowledge. A search for "turbo header" on this site should give you what you need.
  2. I have a new sketch cooking up y'all...completely different than anything elso ever done to a Z...this one is very classic looking. This would modifying a lot more than just bolting on new panels. lots of trimming of the underbody would be needed. part E-type inspiration...
  3. Hey Mario your exhaust sounds great! well I'll have to show my vid...L26, Rooundtop SUs, mystery header with 1.65" primaries, rare "c" cam, 2.5" pipe to a turbo muffler. With about half o my interior. I drove it once with no interior at all and it is like driving a tin can! Very Loud! Hey mario you need a lightweight flywheel so it doesn't sound like you are spooling a turbo...I have an 11 pound flywheel in this vid. Here is another vid with some in car driving. And a video that is a sideshow of picures and audio of my exhaust. (new ignition module that made my car idle really good.
  4. You could just get some JE or whatever flat-top pistons and then have them machined. There are a couple of venders for custom pistons.
  5. You should be able to get 4.25-4.5" backspace max with the stock suspension. That is with skinny 215-225 tires on 15" rims. I got my wheels with 4" backspace and had more clearance in the back. I can now get closer to 5"-5.5" backspace with my coilovers installed.
  6. Of course I have always been a fan of "Big Sam" passing that GT40 on the outside
  7. oh sorry veritech...I meant your sig...sorry. I actually took the huge spoiler off of my Dad's 944 and looked to check it's fit on the Z...not close. The shape is really nice though if one could be made for a Z's body shape. I think a 3 piece that went up far forward on the body would look good. Sort of like the california wing and BRE together. Or like the japanese Z with vortex generators on the hatch. I'll go dig up that pic. something like this but a little more conservative. I think this second pic is the same car with wider tires or a replica. I like the formed aluminium...
  8. I just don't want to spend any extra cash on a crank I won't be using long term...the crank is still in the engine right now. I may get it straightened and rebuild this block as a backup or for a different car though. We'll see what I can come up with for parts.
  9. what about copper-ish color? with some ghost elements...
  10. I am just going to convert my ghetto coilovers to have some real top hats and camber plates. The technotoytuning kit is like $440 to convert my Z from stock modified hats to new aluminium hats and camber plates. Plus it will extend my struts another inch or so for more travel thus allowing me to lower the car more and still have plenty of travel left in my pricey illuminas.
  11. Well the carbs were pig rich so I don't think it is detonation. That is the bottom end bearing half If I recall correctly. you can see the top end half in the corner and it is not too bad. I'll go find some of my other pics. here is the #3 part of the crank: this is the other half of the bearing. and the connecting rod without a bearing This is one side of the piston: and the part# on the bearing
  12. Personally I would cut the fronts inward to achieve more camber but the rears have plenty of camber. I would slot the rears outwards to have less camber. That is for a Z that is seriously low though. Coilovers are a must. There is not enough space for the stock struts to move much at all.
  13. *edit* oops, forgot to finish the title..."diagnosing crank bearing wear" I have looked in my haynes manual but there are no diagrams for the connecting rod/crankshaft bearings. The Haynes manual for Mom's Honda Odyssey shows different wear on bearings and I am afraid of what I see. This is my #3 bearing and it looks like what the honda manual said is a warped crankshaft. Most of the other bearings aren't bad but this one is pretty bad. If the crank is warped then I don't want to put this motor back together with it. I would rather get the LD28 crank and wait to put a motor together. My question is what else can cause this kind of wear? there are signs of dry starting but I am not as worried about that right now as this wear. Thanks OTM in despair...
  14. I just had an idea...what about a targa top Z 914 style? you get a convertable without the hastle of a soft top. Thinking of those Z prototype photos...
  15. I think I am going to start a new thread about turbo header ideas... Veritech...your new sketch is interesting...sorta like a mechwarrior... I sorta like the plain jane style front flares that go to the top of the fender and aren't too agressive. The rears can be pretty wild though. The rear of the Z looks sort of weird with the very tall flat area over the rear wheelwell and then when ZG or other flares are addd it just looks sort of cheap IMO. There are cas that look great with them but you have to get it just right. I'll get a new sketch up tomorrow. I've been a little busy lately. Anyway I would love a total rebody of a Z that does a european 50's-60's style sports car. I like the mercedes on page 1 with it's small oval mouth. Maybe a wider/lower rear end with a pantera hatch.
  16. It came with my car. I was lucky. I think Zcarparts.com has them for around $160 or so. The very bottom part is just the home depot lip...
  17. so for best squish what piston shape/milling would we want? I saw somewhere someone said that a flat top piston with a divot in the middle would be best. I think a domed piston could get expensive really fast. I am looking at doing an 8.3:1 or 8.5:1 but most likely the lower. I just can't get the Z engine calculator to work on my PC so I'l keep trying to figure it out... I am going to have my new motor built right no matter how long it takes to build.
  18. If I were to get a dash cap I would get the full one. I'll get some pics of mine that I am not using. Mine had lots of black sticky two sided tape on the inside but was pulling up a little on the far right bottom side.
  19. is yours fiberglass? Mine is the flexible urethane version that has saved me numerous times with parking next to curbs.
  20. no I won't be taking the big ones to the dorm. Maybe the old Admiral. I just discovered several cameras that were in storage in our basement. a picture camera of unknown age. My great grandfather owned all three of these. Then two video cameras. One is a 1932 Kodak camera with instruction manual that uses a 16mm film and used half at a time. You go through the reel twice and switch it around after it runs through once and then when sent of to Kodak they would cut it down the middle into two 8mm strips. Great condition on the camera and the instruction booklet looks brand new. I found a picture of my great grandfather on a ski lift with his wife with the same camera in his hand. That was really cool. He was aparently insanely rich until the depression. Before the depression he had a car imported from the UK that was right hand drive. Very cool. BTW the stereo that I am using is like a 1979...
  21. But do they even have the SCCA in Sweden? I mean it is the Sports car club of America. just a thought...
  22. go to tunerzine and they have some wallpapers up there for you to use...I am using one...Twisted sixx is now on the front page..
  23. all the airdams so far except Zlalomz's and datman's is the Xenon ducted air dam. MSA has it and a few other places have it too.
