  1. if you have the spare time(which you won't) try this type of wing...
  2. eek... sorry. They were running in the GTO class...I missed the model and just thought GTO was the model. Sorry guys!
  3. I have seen a bunch of people talk about the Electromotive race cars and it drives me crazy when they say that...
  4. Ernie, wouldn't it be "Electramotive"? That is the name I have seen on their cars. As in this one:
  5. hmm...Well actually my MOM found it on a long trip...I went by a long time later and took these photos. It is in some Porsche/Mercedes junkyard...That 280zxt disappeared though. I looked online and you can actually see those rear flares from space from google maps!!!!
  6. ok the pictures are only a couple years old but the car is old school... 325mm wide rear tires...this is the widest cal Z car I have ever seen.. This car had a really weird coilover setup...At least in the front. It uses a standard sized spring and some collar that goes over the spring on the bottom side. The spring is red so I think Eibach. It also has the aluminum ball Gmachine T/C rod kit so I don't think this was a drag car. I don't know what rear end is in the car. I could not see uder the rear of the car it was so low. I ike the exhaust tips...it had 2 more jst like this on the other side. Missing the whale tail... Another reason I don't think it was a drag car...look at that HUGE swaybar. Oh the car had a Chevy motor in it but it is long since gone. BTW the wiring isn't that great in the car... Which engine mounts are those? JTR, SCARAB, Other?
  7. I've only seen one or two other Zs with that much tire under the rear...That is just insane...
  8. nope... I love these old school pics...
  9. There are a bunch of hotrod VW guys out there now... kennedy clutches makes adapters for like 100 motors onto a vw tranny. The flathead would be Uber cool... Salty! cool... what are you doing for exhaust on that puppy?
  10. found videos by the guy with the VG30ET powered bug. I told him about this thread so maybe he'll show up. Here are some videos. Sounds great with this exhaust Imagine it with high boost!!!These are all stock boost!
  11. You can get a louvered hood from MSA...or at least you used to be able too.
  12. I wish they still made tires that were wide for 14-15" rims. It is getting really hard to find any tire for a 15" rim wider than 225mm... That top Z looks interesting. Yours is always cool to see that custom framework. Definitely different and cool. It seems that most people don't want to venture out into custom flares or fenders anymore...If they do it is fiberglass bond-on pieces. Boodlefoof is one who as gone all out custom and is really cool Personally I prefer a full metal body like what you did. Any old school pics are cool to post... There is no school like the old school!
  13. I betcha phil is over there with his leftover rustoleum painting his kitchen gloss black...
  14. yeah...you took a picture of a book with that pic already in it...lol
  15. happy T-Giving everybody! go for a Zdrive! and be thankful that you are into Zs!
  16. Buy corky bell's book "Maximum boost". It tells about graphing your engine on a turbo map... Now you just need to find your H1e map...
  17. unless you date it too much.. Well I had to make my 1500th post so here goes... Old school ROX!! EDIT...Old school pile-o-nissan trannies.
  18. mtn bike. because I nearly died on one on the street...should have kept it where it belongs... 426 chevy or 427 ford?
  19. old school is good! post it up ernie!!!
  20. CD...makes you money laptop or desktop?
  21. Grumpy: thanks. Most of the time I did not feel much pain. I think the worst pain was the nurse guy cleaning the asphalt out of my hands and chin. Mike: verytech-z: ouch.. I thought they were going to have to put plates on my jaw because the left side of my lower jaw could move around with my tongue. I had seen a surgery on TV years ago where a girl shattered her jaw and they had to cut her cheek open to mount plates to her jaw. That is exactly what did not want. I think I'll stick to cars for the road and keep my mountain bike for the trails where it belongs (after I repair it with a new set of gears and gear levers). I'll get a nice full-face mountain biking helmet as well.
  22. On my Z I have 225f/250r 10" springs with the stock length illuminas(2f/3r or 3f/4r). Once I tuned the front a notch softer than the rear the car handled very neutral and with a little throttle it would oversteer a little. This was with a front swaybar and the rear one removed. I can only compare it to the only other sportscar I have driven: My Dad's 944turbo. It has a slightly stiffer spring rate and bilsteins that are rock hard. between the harshness of teh suspension and turbo lag (3200rpms) I don't like hard cornering. It gets a little scary when the turbo kicks in on cornering with the elephant of a sportscar. My Z is soo much lighter and the suspension is really close to being right so that I can fly into turns and know it won't go tail happy on me. The springs are a bit soft for full on racing but are great for the street and carving mountain roads. For the highway I set the illuminas to 1f/2r for a very comfortable caddy-like ride. When I pulled out my old shocks the rears were completely gone and the fronts were going bad quick. They were some blue metalic painted unnamed shocks.
  23. Tannji: I thank theLord that I went straight down the bike lane. If I had hit the curb I would have bounced into traffic and who knows what could have happened. I have been having soo much good food at home. I had some good italian food the other night and it was by far the richest food since I wrecked Big-phil: Thanks buddy! Just what I need! 2003z: Mike, I will be around until mid-late January so we still have plenty of time before I go back to school to put your motor back in. john kosmatka: HAHA! I am also majoring in ME...The day I withdrew was the day for my first miterm and I was 1.5 weeks behind in homework. OUCH! I tried to stay for a week after my parents left but on 700 calories a day I had constant headaches never had enough food. The cafeteria did not want to help me out either. During the week they would carry soup but not on the weekends. DavyZ...this may actually work out better for me in some way. My girl isn't going to college until this fall semester and my program is a 4.5 year program so we should graduate near the same time. There was a reason for my crash but I guess I don't know what that is yet. Thanks guys for your support!
