  1. you are going faster than your speedo says.. Put on tall tires and it gets worse. Good(better) on fuel economy...
  2. Larry...smell the sulfur . I've been to HI too. Don't have any pics though.
  3. yeah... bottom left up close on the second photo...cool.
  4. Cygnusx1: DUDE!!! AWESOME! the water level looks quite a bit higher when you took the pic. Maybe 3-4 ft That trip to Cali was a lot of fun!!! we were in a rental minivan and riding through the park right behind a yellow viper...that was cool!
  5. Awesome Phil!!! Here comes high boost!!!
  6. sweet! the wastegate placement looks excellent as well! Thanks for posting that! The high nickel rod makes me think the welds have good corrosion resistance. Better than standard copper coated rod.
  7. they have them in Japan... there are some importers here that get a lot of stuff from Japan. The metal covered headlight covers cost a LOT though!!!
  8. Sounds like one of my first projects when I get my TIG this summer. Maybe I'll make a couple of them while I am at it and build a jig if anyone woud be interested for a cheap tubular manifold... Thanks Cary!
  9. One day in my welding class (of all things) we had art lessons. Some of the guys in the class were done with all of their assignments early in the quarter and were wanting to do some art stuff to make money for the program (to buy steel and lower student supply costs:-) ). Anyway The instructor had an artist come in and teach everyone about the rule of thirds and how it applied to sculptures and photos etc... Before then I had no clue about taking photos of stuff or any artistic understanding. About 2 hours of training anf it really helps with taking photos. I think we made around $2000 for the program just off of yard art stuff in about 2 weeks. We spent about $150 in materials and half of a $400 booth at the southeastern flower show...Pretty cool!!
  10. Modified Zs wil always keep up with the modern supercars... back in the day... GT40 getting passed on the outside by this L6 Z:-)
  11. Pensacola, FL beach where I go to college... Afternoon trip to far north GA Caught this one while I was working (I'm a pizza delivery guy ) Playing with the water faucet filling a cup with water some buildings in Atlanta Me learning how to TIG weld...This is like the third time I touched a TIG so the beads are a little ugly...lol And that IS Duct tape on my helmet...LOL! Yosemitie valley..some waterfall. Older 1.3mp camera again Tenya lake at yosemitie One of my roses...
  12. Motorhead: Who's car is that!!! it looks like Prox's car but with different wheels! Really cool pic.
  13. I am well versed in welding...Diploma in Welding and Joining tecnology... MIG any position, Stick any position, TIG on steel and aluminum. I have done a little stainless but am not 100% comfortable with my ability on thinner stainless.
  14. Awesome!!!Can you get some pics of your rocker arms? That sounds fun!!!
  15. wow y'all have some nice cameras... I have taken a couple nice pics with my camera... Casio Exilim ex-s500 credit card sized camera... welding class: This one taken with an old 1.3 megapixel camera: notice the blurring...lol back to my Exilim pocket camera... These were just a few of the ones I have taken this year.
  16. I just ran across this writeup. Steel is easy to weld so this might be a viable option for building a header. Sure it would heavy but it would be easy to build... http://www.sdsefi.com/techheader.htm It would be cheap to build as well. What do y'all think about this type of header?
  17. Phil... You know that 260Zs make the coolest hybrids...since they are the slowest Z ever produced by Nissan!!!
  18. Racerx...I agree with you, Bj Hines: I agree with you too. Zs are plenty faster on the track than a bunch of the other little sportscars of the time. If I were to have a sportscar to cruise around and be nice I would have a little Austin Healy. Not fast at all but it drives, sounds, and looks nice. I'd have my ww2 fighter pilot cap and goggles...lol I prefer the Z because I am in the stage of my life where I need a fast car...ala Z. if you hybridize a healy everybody gets in a wad and mad. With Zs there are enough sitting fields rusting away that getting one and puting an engine in it three times as powerful as stock and you put one back on the road for the good... I tried to buy a little bugeye sprite that has been sitting on a garden for about 15 years. The guy said it was not for sale and he was going to restore it. 4 years later there is no top on the car and the car is about gone with rust. He was offered $2000 for it and he won't sell it... I love the little underpowered european sportscars for what they were intended to do. To go cruise the countryside. Historic road rally
  19. I don't drink...lol More root beer to ya Ron... Dan
  20. Yasin: I know he is a member of some forum but he doesn't do that much online. He's not really interested in high performance that much. What I an doing to my Z is pretty much.."why?" for him... the turbo kicks at 3200 and it hits hard! It's the only turbo car I have ridden in that use more than 2psi of boost(old volvo box tank). I was going to buid a hot N/A motor for my Z then I drove the 944 with just over a bar of boost... I changed plans REALLY quick... The biggest thing I don't like about it is that it has the weight like 2 Zs...or at least it feels like that through the steering wheel. The drivetrain layout is great though! I thought about adapting the VW/Porsche rear end into a Z and mate the 944 tranny to an L6 with a custom engine shaft like the 944 uses.
  21. Dear santa: L28 blocks are so hard to find around here. I have been a good buy and doing my thing at college until I nearly killed myself in that accident. I think an engine block to play with would be a nice present for this kid. Thank you, Dan P.S. Who is going to print these out and mail them? Does santa now have email?
