  1. There was a thread a while back about spray paint on an intercooler. From what I remember, the color BLACK transfered heat better than leaving it bare. Not by much, but it was proven that it did. Try digging up that thread and check it out. If it was me, I would leave it black. This way it's more stealthy. People actually think it's just a radiator. 8) !M!
  2. Mark, do you have any pictures of your setup? !M!
  3. Reread my post above. I edited it, because when I reread it, it didn't sound right. !M!
  4. Since I changed my Z from a manual to an automatic, I removed the clutch pedal also. In addition to switching over, I installed a brake pedal in place of the original brake pedal, from a Z that had an automatic transmission. This pedal is moved over to the left a bit and it has a slightly bigger pad. Just something to consider. !M!

    NEW RIDE!

My buddy downloaded a video from sleepyfish (I think) of that car. The exaust note is just so sweet, I had to watch the video at least a dozen times. I would love to see one of them in person. We now have two Saleen S7's here among other supercars (lots of money around here), so it's probably only a matter of time before I get to see one. !M!
  6. Yeah, what he said. But, on the bright side, we get to see something that we have never seen before 8) !M!
  7. Wow Tim, you're going to have your hands full for the next couple of years with these new projects of yours. Post some pictures of these gems when you get 'em. !M!
  8. I came across something that I thought you guys might be interested in. Not directly related to our Z's, but interesting nonetheless. Click Here
  9. That would be awsome John! Doh! I forgot to mention that the engine I replaced was a 2.2 liter 4 cylinder. !M!
  10. Sorry for the two non-Z posts in one night, but you guys are the best. Here's the deal, I replaced an engine in my sisters car recently, which is a '94 Toyota Camry, and now I have a hose that goes to something, but I have no idea what! It is a hose coming off the throttle body pointing downwards at 6 o'clock. It's called the Air Assist Hose and it attaches to the IAC valve on the throttle body. There is actually three hoses below the throttle body, this hose is the middle one. The other two are Water Bypass hoses. If anyone has a '94 Camry, it would be so helpfull if you could just look and see what this hose attaches to or better yet, if you have a digital camera, could you take a picture? I am at the end of my rope with this. I went through the entire Haynes repair manual for any pictures that showed where this hose might go, but no luck. What's even more wierd, is that there is no place left for this hose to attach to, everything is connected and the car runs great! Ahhh! This is the first time I ever had something like this happen, I just don't get it. The sooner I get this figured out, the sooner I get my GNZ on the road. !M!
  11. I'm goin' to Canada eh... and B the trip is this Friday. So, I decided to go on a fishing/golfing trip to Canada with my 92 year young grandpa and I need to drive my '02 Chevy S-10 Crew Cab 1,560 miles round trip. I tried searching for some information here, but there isn't a whole lot, so I figured asking couldn't hurt. I've been needing to replace the fluids on my truck for a while now and I need to do it in the next few days. What would you guys suggest for transmission fluid? I believe it's the 4L60E. I remember Mike Kelly saying that Redline fluid in his 'Vette started to leak through the seals, so Redline is out. Do I have to use GM gear lube for my locking (yeah right ) rear differential? Thanks in advance for any helpfull information. EDIT:Also, on my last trip (which was a 9 hour drive), my right foot got so unbearably hot that I got a slight burn from the heat coming off the transmission tunnel. I had to take my shoe and sock off and put a towel between my foot and the tunnel. I pulled over to check it out and it was just radiant heat. Heat is not a good thing when I comes to transmission life, so I'm installing a transmission cooler. How hot do these transmission's get? !M!
  12. Well, since you got the stuff for free, you can: 1. Sell the same size as the competition, but for less money 2. Sell pieces bigger than the competition's for the same price This way, you're the "better deal". !M!
  13. Wow! Welcome.Looks pretty cool sitting in there. The BMW 12 cylinder idea was kicked around some time ago, but if I remember right, the oil pan hit the crossmember. !M!
  14. I would love to make a hood, hatch, and fenders out of that stuff before my Z gets body work and paint. Is there special pricing for HybridZ members? Please? Pretty please? !M!
  15. Going off prices in the Aircraft Spruce catalog, my guess would be $3,600 to $5,000 for the roll. !M!
  16. Don't add to many shims or you won't be able to close the case . !M!
  17. Look how thick the material of the hood is. In full scale, I figure that would be around 3/4" thick. !M!
  18. Holy cow, it IS a model! Now, I like the attention to detail, but why an accident? !M!
  19. Not sure if this helps any, but there is a Buick Grand National die cast model that is painted in black chrome. They can be baught off eBay. My buddy has one in his display case at his house. The car looks AWSOME! Maybe you could do a search on eBay for the model, and contact the model comapny for the paint process. !M!
  20. Thanks for the link Kevin! I tried searching for V-8 conversions in BMW's, but only came up with two or three hits. A buddy of mine wants to do a LS1 in a 3 series and wanted me to find some information for him... and me !M!
  21. There's a guy a town over from me that just finished the LS1 conversion in one of those and I believe there is another LS1 conversion in the works around here. I love that body style. Nice car! I really like this conversion Click here !M!
  22. While looking for information on relocating a master cylinder in another post, I ran across this in a Yahoo search: http://www.cardomain.com/id/revac Not only is this car a pretty cool hybrid, but click on his Supra half shaft installation. Very interesting. Is the owner a member here? !M!
