  1. Well that's odd. Did you have bad gas or something tonight? Just play'n . !M!
  2. Score one for Pete! In the voice of (the Family Guys) Quagmire, "Alllllright." !M!
  3. Ditto what 260DET said. But, since you are reading this, I would do these in order: 1. Brakes Why? Because this is the most important aspect of a performace car. All the horse power in the world isn't going to save you if you can't stop. 2. Urethane bushings Tightens up the suspension. 3. Coilovers Make sure that coilovers are right for you, before you invest in them. 4. LT1 This is the last thing you should think about. Don't get me wrong, keep your goals in mind, but don't upgrade the engine before you look at the saftey of yourself and others on the road. Lastly, do a search for each of the topics listed above. 1-3 can be found in the "Brakes, Wheels, Suspension, and Chassis" forum. While your engine questions can be answered by searching the "Chevy V8Z Tech Board" !M!
  4. 18" wheels and 1.5 60' are a pipe dream in a Z car. They may look cool, but it's not going to net you the best results for straightline performance. 15" or 16" wheels with drag radials or slicks will get you the best results. Just run around with yor 18"'s around home and when you go to the track, swap the rears wheels. It's kind of a hassle, but what are you going to do? !M!
  5. Almost looks like a kid with braces Man, those things are horrible. Sure, they might be made just fine and could work on another car, but they do NOT go with the lines of a Z car (this is just my opinion remember). !M!
  6. You bet Guy . On one of the local websites I visit, there is a guy that used to work for some FBI or something and we had a troll stop by and this guy did some detective work real quick and ripped him a new @ss! It was so funny! This guy tried signing up as someone else... oh man, was that funny! People think they know, but they don't, just think about it... Everywhere you go, someone knows who you are, be it on the internet or otherwise, someone is watching you. The right people can figure it out. Kind of scary knowing how information is retrieved from just clicking on a website. !M!
  7. So, who out there feels like getting "Just_Someone's" IP address and PM'ing them to let them know they are being watched? Just a little detective work is all that's involved. Please PM me if you do. We don't want any trolls here. Taking care of this situation underwraps is they way to do it. No need to make an example of this person, considering what can be done. !M!
  8. BWD, Were you at Miramar? My buddy and I are making a DVD right now of when we were at Miramar a couple weeks ago. Bad@ss show! It's a must see if you are into airplanes and stuff. They get away with so much more than a regular air show. Sparky, You should see the barrel roll from takeoff at 50 feet with the landing gear down, it's all thrust baby!. The Blue Angles Rock! I could see if I can send that stuff to you. PM me if your interested. !M!
  9. But, as one piston goes down another goes up, so there is no change in crankcase pressure, correct? !M!
  10. Exactly! You know, I went to the "show off your wheels" thread and only see a funny group starting (Jack Stand Racing)... that's it. You guys don't see the humor in that? Also, I will bet any of you that at least half the threads ever posted here have went off on a tangent. We can still be technically oriented and have a sense of humor, can't we? We can't be robotic drones giving out exact answers all the time... remember the saying, "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" or something like that. If we keep the humor in moderation, our home will still keep its integrity. Lets keep that in mind when posting. !M!
  11. Well, it was posted in the "Non Tech Board" . Just as long as this stuff doesn't find its way into the other forums, or has it already? I agree, with some of the newcomers posting crap because they don't read the rules, we have lost a few good members. By lost, I mean they don't grace us with thier wisdom as nearly as much as they used to. I don't want this to turn into another "us against them" thread or DAW's "funny" no L6'ers thread. So lets just go back to self policeing (sp?) our home. I have numerous times PM'd newcomers about what they are doing wrong and have yet to PM a newcomer more than once. I would much rather take it off the board instead of making an example of them. As for this forum? It's non tech! This is were we can let loose and have a little humor, just as long as we can keep it (at the very most)PG-13. We can't have this forum a "anything goes" place. Let's keep it clean and keep it fun !M!
  12. Worldwide OWNED! I betcha he didn't see this one comin", hey? I haven't read through all 50 pages, but has anyone represented HybridZ yet? !M!
  13. It's just put on with adhesive. Use a hair dryer or a heat gun and slowly work with a razor blade. Then use some Goof Off or another adhesive remover to get rid of the crap left over. If the guy does a really good job tinting your windows, you'll hardly be able to tell that there are defrosters under the tint. I've seen many bad tinting jobs on the rear window and when the defroster is turned on, the air that wasn't removed expands under the tint and you get some nasty bubbles. !M!
  14. Hmmm... I would rather "knife edge" the crank before I used less oil in my engine. !M!
  15. Nice! Good choice in wheel selection !M!
  16. Hahaha! Another good one RacerX !M!
  17. My buddy did this with his Hybrid '64 Skylark/GN conversion and it made his car look like a crop duster. Lost a lot of oil through the exaust. I didn't understand the theory behind it, and I still don't. All I know is it didn't work for his application. FYI, he put the connection on the down pipe. !M!
  18. That is SWEET! I love the color. That sucker is as straight as an arrow. Still can't believe that this was your first body work project. Unreal... P.S. Tim, the headlight switch works perfectly Thank you again! !M!
  19. Hey Jim, glad to see you made it over here from TurboBuicks.com! For my setup, I got a R200 3.54 and swapped in a LSD carrier from a '87 300ZX Turbo. For the half shafts, you can use 280ZX turbo halfshafts (aka CV's) and use 280Z stubs with the CV adaptor made by Modern Motorsports. This setup is the same as Derek's GNZ and he was pulling mid 10's without a problem (although, he was using 3.70's in the rear). EDIT:By the way, this setup is all plug and play, no custom machining involved. !M!
  20. So, you were making all of those badass TIG welds on the work you've shown us with a cheap welder? If so, I'm impressed! !M!
  21. Honestly? That is cool! I would have never thought of doing that with my scrap. You see that stuff going for ~$30 at craft fairs. Hope your lady liked it. Try making a dozen of those and go to a craft fair and see if they sell (extra $$ for the Z!). If they don't, you'll have some realy neat presents to give out come Christmas time . Heck, I'll even buy one off ya! What will you charge a HybridZ fella? Seriously. !M!
  22. Arizona Z used to make those parts, but they don't offer them any more. John Washington from Reaction Research is curently working on making some FG doors. Other body panels/parts can be found here. !M!
  23. I have no idea... I just searched the web myself and i can't find a thing. I got my fenders off of a member here and I don't know where he got them from. All I know is a little label inside the fenders say Perfect Plastics Inc. EDIT: I forgot about John Washington, although he doesn't offer stock type fenders. BUT, you will like what he offers Here is the site: http://www.reactionresearch.com/automotive.html !M!
