  1. Jeromio made a FAQ. We really need to update this thing and get it on the front page to help people out. http://240z.jeromio.com/faqdraft/ !M!
  2. It seems like your Ebay seller has deleted his item. Ebay says: This seller is not currently offering any items for sale. !M!
  3. Actually, I think there is a difference. I'm not sure if both companies get thier headlight covers from the same company and there was a design change or what, but some headlight covers use 3 fasteners and some use 4 fasteners to attatch to the headlight bucket. !M!
  4. Now, is that cool or what? I think that my smile wouldn't disapear for at least a week if that was my Z I don't know why, but I smiled when I saw your Z on there. You worked so hard on that puppy, you deserve a little recognition 8) . !M!
  5. Mike, Going off of what you said you have, we have about the same setup in the rear. What is the part number of the cartridge that you are using? I think I have Tokico Illumina BZ3038 if memory serves correctly. I sectioned 1.5" and used washers under the cart. to bring it up to the gland nut. The car sits fine on 17"'s with enough adjustability. !M!
  6. Whoops, misunderstood you . If you section your struts you should be well aware that this lowers the ride height by itself. Sectioning also regains the rebound in the strut travel after lowering a car. Sectioning is mostly done with coilovers, so if your ride hieght is to low, then you can adjust it. In Mikes case though, he sectioned about twice as much as he should have. This lowered his car too much. !M!
  7. It shouldn't be a real problem if you do a good weld, however listening to the good folks here, sectioning the strut about and inch below the threads on the strut tube seems to be a good idea. This way you don't have the wieght of the car resting on two welds (the perch and where you sectioned). Puts your mind at ease if you're still a novice welder. !M!
  8. Mike, I feel bad for your Dad. There is a guy I know up here and if I remember right, he had an extra set of 280Z rear strut assemblies. If he still does, I will cut them and weld 'em back together and ship them out to your Dad. I'll find out tonight and reply here. Shipping might be expensive going from Wisconsin to Florida though. !M!
  9. I watched it and for the size of the file, I thought it would be a bit longer . It was neat to see him zipping through city streets and all, but the edited in sounds of the tires screaching and the engine reving kind of took away from the video. You can tell it was not the actuall sound that was from the actuall run, because you can hear two sound clips overlap when he is slowing down to when he gives it throttle . All in all it was pretty cool though. I would love to get my hands on the 350Z DVD also called "Rendezvous" (sp?). I saw it on SpeedVision a while back and I couldn't believe that the whole video was uncut. You were seriously watching on the edge of your seat, wondering if he was going to crash... it was really cool! Speaking of which, does anybody have the 350Z DVD that I could borrow for a few days? !M!
  10. Aux, Are you going to have a step by step website? It would be cool to watch the progress. Hmm... didn't know your Z used to be red. !M!
  11. That is sweet! That front is almost like this one shown below. It was made from an aftermarket Toyota Supra air dam. !M!
  12. I'll see about that moviemaker program and putz around with it. Thanks . !M!
  13. Okay, okay.... don't look too suprised, just give her more information to feed what's going to consume her... it will be oookay. There is no cure for the Z virus. Once bitten, you will see all and stop at no cost to feed the virus. You two will be just fine. Just don't make her mad. !M!
  14. Man, that Toyota is ugly... Is there a way to make videos brighter on Windows Media Player? All three vid's are very dark. From the sound of those videos though, they should be pretty cool 8) . !M!
  15. How about the Saleen S7?! Now, I really don't have a place in my heart for Fords, but that sucker is COOL looking! From what I have heard from some of the locals, there is a red S7 that was delivered to a guy a few towns over. Suposedly, he was the first to take delivery of an S7 in the states, but not sure about that one. There was 2 here at one time though. Gillette had an S7 on display for thier new Mach 3 razor too. Sweet looking cars . !M!
  16. I heard that on the morning radio show. Now that's funny! !M!
  17. Mike, It sucks to hear you having problems again . For what it's worth, my rear suspension is setup similar to yours. Stock isolator up top, 200lb. 8" spring, strut sectioned 1.5"... and going off the pictures taken, the theaded tube is to low. I actually had my threaded tube so high on the strut, I had to cut off 3/16" of it (otherwise I couldn't tighten down the gland nut), so it was flush with the strut housing when the gland nut was off. What you could do that wasn't recomended yet, is buy longer threaded tubes and cut them to length, then you simply remove the old threaded tubes and put on new longer ones. This way, there is no welding involved and you have a lot of adjustability. You can then sell your old threaded tubes to possibly break even on the cost of the new threaded tubes. Do you understand? !M!
  18. Right now I'm trying to blow up the R180 that's in my '73 240Z . So it fits just fine, but I do have a R200 LSD that's going into it over the coming winter. I know the R-200 mustache bar sets the differential back a little, but I didn't know it was 5/8". I will have to look to see how much room is between the R180 mustache bar and the sway bar. Having the endlinks on a angle cannot be ideal. For a solution, you could get some aluminum stock and make some plates that go behind the mounting bushings to set the bar rearward, but then what about the endlinks? I'll have to look into this... Anybody have the Suspension Techniques rear sway bar with a R200 installed? !M!
  19. Hey, Glen check it out http://www.rodshop.com.au/project55.htm And yes, he was dropping flares. These are used to defended themselves from heat-seeking missiles. But in this case, he was just showing off I believe. !M!
  20. Ron, This topic has been on two other websites that I know of at the same time as well. Seems to be a hot topic lately. !M!
  21. Dave, That "fighter over water" video is the one I was thinking of. Cool, hey? I love it! That second video I have seen before, but never found it, untill now. I thank you so much. My Dad has been wanting to see that ever since I told him about it a couple years ago. Jay, I was at the air and sea show in Chicago this year and I was talking to a guy that said the sound barrier was busted by accident a year or two ago at the Chicago show. I guess, like you said, quite a few windows got broken !M!
  22. THAT WAS FREAKIN' AWSOME! I loved that, thank you for posting that. I had to crank the system up to get the (almost) full effect. Have you guys seen the video of the F-14 busting the sound barrier about 50' off the ground? And, oh yeah, he did it right next to a aircraft carrier with people on the deck. The sound was not that great, but it was cool to see the cone that was formed on the water. I have the video, but no place to post it. !M!
  23. Suspension Techniques make one. I have their rear bar on my Z. !M!
