  1. sounds like a differance in flow. check for crushed header. Is there any work done to the head? If a head was ported and the flow from cylinder to cylinder is off it will cause AFR differances between cylinders.
  2. Or just check compression. Time to rebuild th bottom end is my bet. What were the specs of the current build?
  3. that will affect your cam timming
  4. sounds like the solenoid went bad
  5. my stock 79 280zx ran a 15.5 @ maybe 85mph. some bolt-ons, a good clutch and tires should have no problem doing it in a 280z.
  6. generic site and my web blocker informed my of a possible threat. hummm good numbers though!!
  7. Blew up my super high milage turbo motor and am swaping out with another I have. I currently am using the intake / exhaust gasket that is like a metal impregnated material. Some gaskets are a paper with steel around the exhaust. I have had bad luck with those in the past. I just need the car running in like 24hrs. thanks
  8. you should run factory boost until you can afford a wideband. It is that simple. wideband $200 new motor $200 - $1000 and up. Depending on if you do the work.
  9. it does not "trick it to run rich". It WILL run rich but ONLY on a shift. Ever see a car blast flames on a shift. Yeah, usually from a boosted car with a blow off valve instead of a recurc valve. I recomend you searching if you have not found your answer in this thread as to wether or not you can turn the boost up.
  10. stock 280zx is slow and does not make much power. Doubt you would notice the differance in a stock and a full exhaust if your motor has not had some work done to it. Might see ??10hp?? up top maybe a tad more. That being said, the exhaust is a good place to start your modifications. A 2 1/2 inch system from any local muffler shop should be plenty of flow for most n/a L28s out there. If you are in search of anything over 200whp then IMO you should be looking at either a v8 swap or my preferance an l28 turbo swap.
  11. I think he is talking more abought the lack of baffeling in the carbed tank. I am running a walbro 255 on my factory 260z with my car. If I am going to drive crazy I just make sure I have over a half tank. I dont have a big problem with starving the fuel pump till I suck a good 7-8 gal out of it. The factory fuel pump should flow enough for right at 300hp - 300tq if its in good shape.
  12. screw the duck.... I will take the yota!!!!
  13. Yes, they couldd realy use some tlc. I have not been there in years. They are very fond parts of my earlier years. I really would like to go back soon so I hope they get fixed
  14. I am peaking torqu at 3800 and 17 psi by 3600rpm. I am looking for this motor to make power from 3500 to 7000 or 7500. Car is not hardly driven on the street much. I spend most of the time n the upper rpm range. I am also realy wanting to keep the hp and tq close to each other. Like say 10%. I will post up my ign map later. not on this computer.
  15. yeah, New Orleans...kinda like living near a volcano and you home gets burnt away..... The battle ship is suposed to be on ground. It is a display at a park. You pay like $5 and can go walk all through it. Well, at least you could. most likely not right now. I wonder how they will fix it?
  16. I have not made it down to galveston or crystal beach after Ike yet. I would have to say I am among most that did not quite realize just how bad it still it. These are from another local forum, Idid not take these. This is from Sea Wolf Park. NO, It did not lean before!!!
  17. This is a great but why am I seeing an identical waveform from my fuel pressure? I dont want megasquirt to even recognize fuel pressure as something thaat even exists. I basicaly want to see the waveform as a solid line. But yes, that makes sense and I will give it a shot. Thanks
  18. ok, file should be attached. runnning 440cc. Also, I think I said it already but, with the wideband disconected from the ecu then there is no afr searching. Both gauges go dead. Fuel Pressure & O2 jeff 12-19-09 afr hunt.zip
  19. I think you are missing that I have no Fuel pressure sensor to even connect to the megasqirt box. Injectors fire in 2 sets. no dampner, my fuel pressure has no oscillation. It is the setup seeing the O2 sensor as a fuel pressure sensor also. MATT, How would I upload this file for everyone to see?
  20. little bigger here http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc114/jc052685/Untitled-2.jpg
  21. is this better? notice the AFR and the fuel presssure are the same wave form
  22. i am sure the flapper door (afm) has been jacked with to run those boost levels, so yeah, rich. FYI - you can just sticck thee wideband like 6 inches down the tail pipe to get and idle afr reading. Yeah, I would not plan on useing that turbo much longer. Good luck spraying in the cold......
  23. could get some of that ??vynle?? screen, in white, for the rear windows maybe?
  24. some more FYI-This was done at 60MPH
