  1. my first question would be have you searched??? second, what year motor what head? I would look at th SU carb setup before the FI because you vehical already has the proper equipment.
  2. FYI - Head does not need to be removed to pull the springs. Use a compression gauge fitting and an air compressor, turn the crank so the the piston for the cylinder you are working with is at the bottom. Now remove the rocker and apply presure. The presure should hold the valve closed for you. Still sux but you can do it.
  3. a l29 at a buddies shop did 310whp...so yes
  4. damnit.....did not even notice that.....kinda funny though
  5. no no no........That is just how I got the turbo. Got the motor out and pulled the old turbo off. Just thought I would throw it on there for some pics and clearance mockup. The cartrage and copressor side both will be clocked to the normal fashion. Old turbo was from a rb25det. I bought it off a buddy when I toasted my stocker. New on is either a 60-1 or 62-1. dont remember, I sat down with Kenny @ turbochargers.com and told him my setup and goals and this is the turbo that he recomended.
  6. I am hoping for over 300 wheel on a very coservitive 12ish psi. might shoot for 425 wheel on 18-20psi
  7. ENGINE SPECS: BOTTOM END: Bone stock junkyard pull. Had about 185,000 miles when removed. Headgasket blew, now running felpro and ARP head studs. TOP END:- p90 head INTAKE MANIFOLD - Stock N42 HEADER - Stock manifold TURBO - Stock Rb25det WASTEGATE - Stock Rb25det BOV - None yet INTERCOOLER - Home brew, see avitar. INTAKE SYSTEM - 3" CAI EXHAUST - ebay downpipe and 3" unrestricted straight out RADIATOR:- Stock OIL COOLER- None yet, have everything sitting and waiting for my 62-1 GEARBOX: stock 79 280zx w/aprox. 300K miles EMS/EFI: MSnS not sure which version this setup is building boost by 1300 rpm and full boost by 2400 rpm 197rwhp / 285 rwtq @ 12psi (also was like 95deg outside)
  8. think it uses vacume to sence throttle and load. might be all you need is vacume referance.
  9. running 197hp and 285tq wheel and this is on a 79 5-spd w/around 300k miles. 1-2 shift is a hair tough but other than that it is pretty good.
  10. just ordered my turbo today from turbochargers.com (retail location) and they said it should be in as early as tuesday. Thats goo because I want to get the turbo on by friday and have the car driving as i am going to Austin for the Texas Nissans meet on saterday. May even have time to throw it on the dyno for a good tune. I am currently running a stock RB25det turbo on my L28et. That turbo got me 197whp and 285wtq on like a 95deg day @ 12psi. I thought that was a fairly decent number. Well anyway I should be getting the 62-1 stage 5 compressor on tuesday so maybe I will have some dyno numbers before the weekend is over.
  11. i am 23 yrs old and my z is insured as a classic. some insurece agencies require the car to be X% restored or something. mine just said as long as it is driven less than 2500 miles a year and is 24 years or old then it qualifies. they do not even verify milage. HA! cost me like $16 a month for $7,000 of FULL coverage. This is with the same company that i have my standard auto insurance with
  12. oh, i so did that once, was funny as hell, had to change it back because it was geting me more than anyone else.

    Lol!

i am not sure i get it, i mean i see the sign and I get they are in the wrong lane but are they in like J-pan or were they realy in the incorrect lane? Just can me slow. now that i look closer it look like that is a come "bike" road that bikers will cut corners on or apex the turn. looks like the othe people are just telling everyone they are in the wrong lane. Is that right?
  14. so my question is does any one know if there is any and where to find such data on the l28et as I cant seem to. Info such as bsfc VE and shuch info for this table to be usefull?
  15. from what i understand i think they have to be balanced after every rebuild.
  16. maybe give the motor a few more miles on that break in, sound like everything is still very tight.
  17. call up turbochargers.com located in houston and they have an amazing staff and do great work!!
  18. you will need a way to manage this extra fuel flow. Some people get larger injectors to work with jacking with the afm but I'd put money on the fact that it is never right. you WILL need a way to tune for larger injectors.
