  1. I havent got mine running yet but not far off, and I am concerned about the cooling. I have a specially fabricated ali radiator which I think will be good, but of course I have to load up several other components that will physically block the airflow to the radiator. ie From the front back - oil cooler, then intercooler, then 10 inch fan for aircond condensor, then aircond condensor, then radiator, then 2 12inch pull fans for the radiator. One of my mates has suggested leaving the aircond condensor fan off, however I am concerned that this will make the aircond pressures go up when standing idling, however do you think the radiator fans will pull enough air through the condensor to manage this? Also he reckons 1 16 inch will be better than 2 12's as each motor blocks off airflow? Complicated eh - any feedback?
  2. thanks Clint, yes expansion loops are generally for that. Anyway I will just leave it off like all suggest. Hows sunny Hawkes Bay? regards
  3. Stroker I notice that you have the same problem as me with the offtake for the aircleaner on the front turbo - have you any ideas on how to deal with re-routing the pipework to sort this? I have the rear turbo aircleaner sorted very easily but the front one, the flange off the turbo is going to have to be completely refabricated (in original fitment faces straight to the side of the engine bay). I am going to see if I can get a generic flange and then weld on pipework coming straight out to the front whilst missing the aircond pump. What are you going to do?
  4. Below is a photo of the clutch slave cylinder pipework off my R32 GTR halfcut. You will see at the union that there is a large loop of pipework that I can only imagine is an expansion loop of some kind?? Any one know why this is there and have any of you used this setup in your Z? thanks
  5. I have attached some docs on all these subjects. In Fuel Tank Fittings I have drawn the fuel circuit which you might find useful. I have done most of what Paul has suggested, so in the docs are part numbers etc. I woul d from what I have read, use a surge tank NISMO Fuel Regulator Part number : 22670-RR580-US regards Fuel Tank Fittings.pdf Fuel Delivery.pdf Fuel Pumps.pdf
  6. My car is a 240Z as well and I'm sure all I did was get the companion flange from M/S. Mind you mine had discs on the rear so maybe the stub was replaced at the time?
  7. "Stuffed, U/S, f*cked, no good, worn out ...." When they were fitted I got huge rumbling noise so had to remove them. So presume the ones you have purchased are second hand? regards
  8. "the cv's are on the way." GOMI, where are you getting your CVs from, what part No are they, and are they brand new? I got second hand ones from a Z31 but they are stuffed and I cant get them replaced here in Australia. regards
  9. Matt, thanks very much, I was hoping you might chip in. We are in Nagano at the moment, back to Tokyo tomorrow and then home to Perth Aust. Disappointing re cars - havent seen one interesting car on the roads or come across any Car Business or Parts place. Am going to have a quick look around Tokyo tomorrow for Up Garage or something similar. Love Japan and the people though - absolutely organised, clean, safe and friendly. regards
  10. Yes sorry. I am in Japan on holidays at the moment, so only had a couple of photos in my laptop. If you still need them when I get back in a week I will photograph
  11. We have discussed this a bit previously in another thread, however I would like to know what slave cylinders others have used with the RB25DET gearbox? Mine is an R34 RB25DET gearbox bolted to the back of an RB26. The clutch is a pull type. Attached is a photo showing at top the R32 GTR slave cylinder from my halfcut and the new slave cylinder I am going to use at the bottom. My concern is that the new slave cylinder is a lot longer in size than the GTR slave, and I am wondering if it will release correctly etc and will not be too heavy? What have others found? My halfcut came with a clutch booster (see attached PDF), but maybe this was because the original slave was so short? Any feedback guys? The Clutch Booster.pdf
  12. Here are a couple of pics regards O2 sensor wiring.pdf
  13. love the wheels. Are they Watanabe (?), dont get these in Aust - we have a similar one called Performance Superlite. What offset are they - they look like you dont need to run flares? Did you have to use spacers? Where did you get then from? How much? And do they come in 16 x 8/8.5? thanks & regards
  14. Hi Stroker I am at about the same stage as you. A lot of your questions (other than heater hoses) have been discussed recently if you search the threads over the last month. Other than that the brake booster hose for the 26 comes off the back of the spider thing you are talking about, I will try and attach a picture from the manual Yes there is a clutch booster it was on my halfcut - probably not required, others havent complained about it being too heavy Yes I am keeping the spider for that and aircon reasons regards iCollector hoses.pdf
  15. Paul let me know when you get it so that I can check it out regards
  16. thanks everyone for your suggestions I will follow them up
  17. thanks Gl0oberunner, anything I see of interest I will post regards
  18. thanks very much Matt, appreciate your help regards
  19. I am going to Tokyo, Kyoto & Nagano in 10 days for 8 days. Can anyone suggest any motoring/parts suppliers I must sees/visit in any of these places? thanks
  20. I have used a Gates performance timing belt T1040R which was Australian $118
  21. Matt I am coming to Japan for a quick holiday (10 days), only about 3 days in Tokyo - where are you situated and are there any speed shops/displays I should try and see while I am there? We will be in Nagano, Kyoto, & Tokyo
  22. Yes on my 240Z with the Crane Ign, a board was added by the electrician and all is fine, just needed to find the tach signal output from the Crane which in this case was green. The Electrician believes the same mod will work with the ECU from the RB, again once we find out what lead is the tach signal output - has anyone already established what lead out of the ECU? I will be using an Apexi so again will need to find the correct tach output lead.
  23. 500 to the wheels he says - see his post - yahoo! regards
  24. Thanks very much Matt, as usual you have good practical advice. With the injector upgrade I will need a different fuel rail I think - is that right? Any recommendations - Sard etc regards
