  1. Love the shift boot:lol:. Seriously the interior is coming along great. Looks awesome.
  2. Ok most likely going to go with brians 25 trans. As far as the clutch and flywheel are concerned: The Spec carbon-kevlar stage2+ clutch will prob be the one on order but not to sure about the flywheel. Exedy has a decent reputation and they have a semi decent al one for around $350. Not sure how much i would trust that. (We all saw the pics of a wheel goung through the hood). Anyone have a decent wheel to bolt to an rb20. Or does anyone have opinions on the matter.
  3. With your brothers incredible shop at your disposal, I'm sure it will be no problem for you to easily knock both of your goals out.
  4. So im going to pick up an 83 280 2+2 tomorrow and was wondering if all the 83s came with the "NACA ducting" on the hood. Its the small triangle in front of the driver. Is this just a turbo option or did it come factory on the na's.
  5. GAWD DA** Man your z is gonna be on my vote for the 8th wonder of the modern world
  6. Thats pretty much freakin ridiculous
  7. Getting my pesky main bearings this way guys. Thust me this has been a much easier experience than trying to even order at the nissan dealer where i work. Get it while its hot
  8. Thats why I will even just take the bellhousing. I have several KA transmissions sitting around even a fresh rebuilt one.
  9. I have a few spare gtr parts or can go over and do yard work and house painting. let me know what you would like
  10. I know this is prob the wrong place but I need an RB20 manual trans or manual trans bellhousing. Possibly i may need a clutch and flywheel for the 20. I know the RB25 trans is far superior to it but thats not in the "fun car" budget.
  11. By far the most entertaining thing online since the brit spears vma vidoes
  12. i was told that the pulsar gtir platform bolts right up to those sentras. not sure if that is entirely true
  13. Try RPM machining in Tempe off McClintock and University. The machined the flywheel and balanced it along with putting the new crank collar on and balancing the rest of the rotating assy. They did an awesome job
  14. Ont of the service writers at my dealership has 4 z cars (not on the forum though) and recently put a sbc 400 in his 76 280. He is giving me the l28 the 5 speed, clutch pedal intake and a lot opf random crap. From one of the pics he showed me i saw N42 on the manifold. Gonna use a few of these parts for myself but more than likely if anyone is nearby and needs something you probably can come get it. He also has a vg30 na out of a 90 z32 that was hydrolocked if anyone can use that let me know I'll pick it up (I have dibs on the trans). Today looks like it will be a good day.
  15. Check the cv shafts make sure the spindle nut is tight and that the cv flange bolts are torqued to the diff properly also. Repack your bearings. Ive seen similar things and a lot of times this solves it.
  16. The rb20 transmission will bolt up but will be SIGNIFICANTLY weaker than the 25 trans. Thats why the 20 tranny is about $250 and the 25 is $1000. I can easily be done but if you are going to drive hard and make some power be prepared for that. If you did do this and broke the rb20 trans you could do the bellhousing swap for a stronger z32 trans. I hope im correct by all this Good luck
  17. according to the door jamb sticker on a 3.5 front is 2394 and the rear is 2189. So that is 52.2:47.8. Not bad
  18. GVWR weight is 4586. Just checked one of the coupes in the shop. The ratio is something like 52:48 i think. I know its not the fastest and its heavy but it can handle its own. trust me i got paid to find this out. It is fairly nimble on the road and is able to take the twisties (but not with the crap wheels and tires it comes with). The size and style is completely different of that of a 350z or g-coupe. When parked next to eachother its a world of difference. The cars cannot really be compared they are targetted at different demographics. Because of my experience with them I would buy one in a heart beat except there a ton of other Nissans and dattos that are ahead of it in line. They definately have their quirks but its a first year car as all the 03 350z owners can vouch. Bottom line its an awesome car.
