  1. makes me wonder when they're going to produce the STOP and PLAY wheels. Also SUBTITLE wheels would be good.
  2. no, mine were the special special deal. the group buy was 400 for sportmax wheels shipped anywhere, your choice of colors for 15x7
  3. IMO, that's ridiculously high. FOr 2 grand, they better be seamstitching the whole car. Assuming $75/hour in labor (because it's all labor), no way should it take 30+ hours to weld on 2 rails while the car's on a frame rack. $500 would be reasonable to me.... but 2500!? Which shops quoted you this? edit: just read that it was for floorpans as well. still kind of high IMO though. are your floorpans that bad?
  4. the guys in san leandro have made shafts for Z conversions for decades, and Mike D. used them. I'm going to test fit it today
  5. My friend and I lugged around bare 13b blocks (no manifolds/turbo/accessories) by hand, they're about 170-180lbs naked. add turbo, alt, waterpump, manifolds, etc... it adds up.
  6. i got 15/20 without corrections. 17 with
  7. drill a very SMALL hole and dump a whole can of PB blaster into the hole, and leave it upside down. see if it helps the next day with pulling it out
  8. the hood question is incorrect. the shape of the hood is identical on all s30 cars. to me, shape of the hood indicates lines, and not holes. 73-74 z cars were sold WITH vents at dealers because of vapor lock issues. this is why later 260z cars have dual fuel pumps. 350z question is incorrect. it was offerred a 2003 model in 2002. if we're going by those rules, your question of when the first 240z was available, should be changed to 1970.
  9. well, my weight of the Z was 2430 with 1/2 tank of gas, 4 piston caliper swap, no rollbar, '73 year heavy bumpers and a spare tire, and r200 now I have a 71 bumper (25 lbs lighter because of mounts), an autopower rollbar, a rear sway, and wankel. we'll see
  10. the pan should be slanted, it's for oil drain. do not use the oilpan as reference point.
  11. hard to find a ka24de? they're dime a dozen. Any s13/s14 guy that is doing an sr20det swap has a spare motor, likely in running condition. and yes, your Z is a 240. 260 was '74 only. I assume you mean a turbo KA block, because it's really pointless to swap in an NA KA24DE. you should also note that there's a nissan 4 cylinder forum
  12. whatever you do, DO NOT READ THE THREAD TITLED 'SO YOU WANT TO SWAP A ROTARY INTO YOUR Z' I assure you, kind sir, that it has absolutely no relevant information to your swap.
  13. well, it's another $1000-1500 for a t56 + cost of flywheel and clutch. The auto is pretty worthless
  14. So, I have a copy of Burning Crusade sitting on my desk. Unopened. I only bought it because I had a gift cert. to Best Buy, so it cost me $10. heh.
  15. you could've asked him to point to the turbo
  16. if you have a frame rack option, go with it. the idea is to keep the car as close as possible to straight frame, and when you're doing it on jackstands, you might get sag, and a tweaked frame while welding them in i ordered the baddog rails myself, should be arriving soon. let me know what shop you've decided to get them welded in at, and how good of a job they've done
  17. only 3 months behind, Ernie http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=115669&highlight=hitler
  18. I don't think it's stainless... aluminized steel does not stand up to rotary heat
  19. you know, what about this... That would work well, since it'd replace half the piping anyway or magnaflow unit also uses ss packing. and about 70 bucks
  20. ugh. I was hoping you wouldn't say borla. I bought one of their mufflers labeled 3in/3out. The inside pipe diameter was 2.4". you could see the tapering of the end pieces from 3" down to 2.4" before it went into the muffler itself.
  21. Hey guys, just got my rx7 to r200 driveshaft made, and the car's going to an exhaust shop to get piping welded up, and to finish up the whole exhaust system while I'm at it. I have a magnaflow 3" straight through SS muffler for end piece, But I need a center section silencer because it'll be too loud otherwise. Sure, it'd be nice on a v8, but no one wants to listen to a rotary So... what can I get for about $150 tops to serve as a mid-section silencer, has to be stainless steel, and no fiberglass packing - rotary heat will blow out mild steel and fiberglass very fast. Exhaust is a 3" stainless setup
