  1. HOLY CRAP. it's kyle from 240z.org mailing list. your fan hasn't shredded any more radiators, has it?
  2. wanna take a guess as to what she OD'd from? I'm sure compilation of drugs didn't help
  3. how did you manage to get an FN FAL in cali?
  4. C-CLAMP - A unique tool used to completely slip off whatever it is holding under any sort of stress, causing last 30 minutes of work to wind up strewn about the garage HARBOR FREIGHT - a wonderful tool store carrying almost anything and everything you might need at extremely low prices. However, getting a tool you purchased last more than 30 minutes is the challenge. DUCT TAPE - A universal multi-use tool found in almost every mechanic's garage. Capable of repairing everything and anything. If you can't fix it with duct tape, you didn't use enough duct tape JB WELD - see duct tape. BENCH VICE - a device used to put crosshatch pattern into wood, aluminum, brass, and any round piping inserted and clamped ENGINE STAND - simple tool used to hold the engine in mid air outside of the vehicle. Extremely useful in rotating the motor and expelling liquids you thought you had previously drained all over the garage floor, your project car, and yourself. ANGLE GRINDER - motorized tool used to perform almost any task involving cutting and grinding metal. Extremely efficient at filling your lungs with metal shavings and testing out integrity of your work gloves when you touch the metal you just cut. JACK STAND: a propping device used solely to get in your way of suspension work, engine hoist, and to bang your head on underneath the car
  5. It's a 1908 model retooled per 1938 spec, the production date is 1943. It's a K.Kale edition. I think the bore on it is toast as well, because when it did shoot, I couldn't hit targets for ♥♥♥♥ Then again, it could've been misaligned sights. I'm going to take it to the range when my 91/30 is ready and test it out at the same time.
  6. i tried yugo 70s ammo, 50s turk ammo, egyptian 60s ammo, etc. same result. i have dismantled the bolt completely and cleaned it and reoiled it. There's no cosmoline left anywhere. I think it's the firing pin protrusion that's causing the problem, and I haven't checked the headspace yet - don't have the tool for it anyway.
  7. dunno about nasha rodina... i left it for a reason ok, horosho, za nashu rodinu
  8. I'm having problems with my mauser... I think the bore is shot (no pun intended) and the firing pin is either ground down from use, or is not the right part. Only half of my rounds actually fire, the other half get a nice dent in the primer, but do not ignite. I've tried this with various rounds from different eras, same results. The guy at the range tried my rounds with his yugo48 mauser, and didn't have a single misfire.
  9. sparks: me or teamnissan? i paid $75 for the mosin nagant. the sks was about 350 out the door, but that condition is a rare find
  10. yep. while MSA offers almost everything one needs for any Z car, their prices are at least 30% higher than average cost for reference, I ordered a spring compressor set from them for $30. This was a harbor freight piece that sells at HF store for $8.
  11. yep, model 91/30. same that vasiliy zaitzev used in enemy at the gates, minus the whole russian sniper outfit. top to bottom, -turkish 8mm mauser -mosin nagant m44 -1954 russian sks
  12. should be done processing bg check and picking it up in a week: Going to order a monte carlo stock, ati-type mount for the front sights and turn it into a sportster/scout (although, barrel is a tad long for a scout, but you get the idea). Total cost should be about $250 including the gun itself. Bore seems good, and the receiver/bolt/firing pin are in very good condition. Apparently, some big5 stores don't care if you disassemble the bolt right on the counter.
  13. put that Z out of its misery. The owner should be paying you $300 to get it out however, the fan on that engine leads me to believe it's a 1970-early 71 Z. still not worth it. for giggles, get the VIN
  14. i take a razor to mine and cross hatch cut it. that way, you can't peel it off
  15. if you're going to be doing ZG flares, you probably want wheels with more negative offset so they fill in the flares correctly. You may want to do some research on the flares here, and see what you come up with. 0 offset will fit stock fenders, but flares stick out another 2.5-3" or so.
  16. i see the buckle, and i see the possibility that your framerail is slightly bent. measure the distance between the framerails at the firewall, and at the radiator support. see if the numbers differ. if they do, this means your suspension geometry is a tad out of whack also. Your driver's side wheel may have more toe out than passenger, unless it has been compensated for

  18. How is it a break down in the community?
  19. uhm, mike... no one wants to bare with you. we'll bear with you, but alas, i don't think any of us want to see you nekkid
  20. well, obviously we'd including AU/NZ, canada region, europe we have a z guy in iraq, even. i put texas separately because it's easier and there are a lot of z guys in texas. easier than just identifying them with "south" region.
  21. guys, I think we should have regional forums listed: west, northwest, midwest, north east, south east, texas, etc this would make it easier to schedule group events, local bartering, info, etc. For example, let's say I need to get a bunch of spare steelies to roll my car around. It'd be easier for me to voice this in a regional forum rather than in the general motorsports or non-tech board
  22. group buy info http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=118865
  23. yeah, current miata price is about 22k for base model
  24. I don't want to ship them or dismount the tires. Just adds to the cost and hassle. I'd much rather have someone come pick them up or just slap them on their Z/s13/510/whatever right there
