  1. Yeah, I see how changing the length of the TC rod has a much greater effect on ackerman then simply tilting the struts back about the ball joint. I just wanted to talk through it to clear things up in my mind.
  2. ...thinking... It would have a slight effect on ackerman due to the steering arm attachment point being angled more. It would move that point up and back slightly.
  3. I'm moving the top of the struts back, reducing ackerman. If I where moving the ball joint forward, I would be increasing ackerman. I might do a bit of both now that I think about it.
  4. I was thinking, as I increase caster, I will need to move the steering rack back to not negatively effect ackerman. This is getting more complicated then I first imagined. Fun Fun... With the camber plates I have, I won't have any caster adjustment up top. I will have to change the length of the TC rod to adjust caster.
  5. I will be welding in my camber plates to the tubular front end I'm currently designing. I've been doing a lot of reading regarding caster, camber, ect. I'm wondering how much caster is too much? I will be running a subaru power steering rack, so I'm not really concerned with the increased steering effort. I just figure there is a point of diminishing returns here. I'm curious what you guys think. Currently I'm shooting for around 10 degrees as my target. edit: I will be using radial FA tires. 9.5" front 12" rear. I will be doing autocross and track days with the car. Justin
  6. Kennedy Engineering makes a lot of good adapter plate solutions. I have one for my early 90's audi to swap the SBC into it. http://www.kennedyeng.com/
  7. That looks Great!!!!!! Any plans of lowering the car more? Justin
  8. I can finally confirm that the Bilstein R36-5022H0 does fit my front 280z strut housing just fine. There is plenty of room! The body length is so much shorter, one could section nearly 4" out of the factory front strut tube. Justin
  9. Pulled the front struts last night to finally test fit these 36mm Bilstein inserts. I got the gland nut off one, but couldn't pull the insert out with my hands. I'm going to pick up the upper nut and hat so I have something I can hit with the rubber mallet. Hopefully that gets these inserts out. Justin
  10. It would work fine with a triple master cylinder pedal assembly. Just need to get the correct pad pressure. You can calculate the correct master cylinder size front and rear once you select a rear caliper. Who makes those radial to 3.5" adapters? I'd like to run some radial calipers...
  11. Its fun to group people together. I found a meth pipe in the headliner of a honda civic I bought about a month ago. God damn I was pissed when I reached up in the whole where the dome light was, and find that ♥♥♥♥♥♥. At least I wasn't pulled over and searched for some random reason.
  12. The GY Radial rears 23.5x11-15 are recommend for a 14" rim width. Eeek: http://www.racegoodyear.com/tires/pdf/g19_sports.pdf I was thinking about running the GY radial 23.5x10.5-16 up front???? The real problem for me straying about from these FA tires is getting reasonably priced tires. I can't drop retail prices on these slicks. More on topic: Are you worried about scrapping the frame rail under hard turns? Looks like it was getting close before your switched to the shorter tires. Justin
  13. I hope I'm not getting too far off topic. Say I use the 23x12.5-15's in the rear. What tire should I run up front? How much tire can I really use up front? These YZ front fenders can fit just as much tire as the rears. Essentially I could run the big tire front and rear. Is this too much???
  14. How much ground clearance do you have left? What is your rocker height? Regards, Justin
  15. I bought a three month trial to Yoparts.com, and its about to expire. Does anyone need anything? PM me for login details. Justin
  16. Will the 15" dia FA rears fit under Reaction Racing YZ rear flares?
  17. Why not turn this into a worst thing you ever got in trouble for thread?
  18. So Ive decided to put the ultra low ride height and YZ kit on hold for the time being. Ive got a ZG flare kit that I will be putting on the car, along with the rotas, headlight covers, 5 inch rocker height. Ect. I just want to drive the car this summer.... I found a shell for the next level of this build that I wont be afraid to cut apart and do a tube chassis. More on all this over the next couple days
  19. Damn, I can't believe how quiet the car is under boost. Those compound kits are cool!
