  1. My guess, is the caliper doenst have enough clearance to sit all the way down on the rotor like it should.... or it doenst have enough pad area to cover the whole rotor surface.
  2. well I got a friend deal, so it wasnt too bad. Like I said, it took 7 hours, so whatever shop rate is multiplied by that.
  3. Sorry to hear about your head gasket, I had the same thing happen to mine about 1k after a motor rebuild. I used a cheapo headgasket and the bore spacing was off and I got a blow out between the waterjacket and cyl wall on #6. I hate to sound like a salesman, but ive got a hardly used 1mm metal headgasket sitting here. since my L project is no longer, I dont need it anymore. PM me if its something you might be interested in.
  4. Yeah, a shop should be able to pull that no problem. Here are a few pics of my wreck a year ago. The car was bent to a point that the oil filter was punctured by the motor mount (I think) and the rear of the passenger door came in contact with the door jam and would not open. Suspension was all bent up too. I had Hoey's (sp) Autobody in olympia pull mine. It ended up taking them 7 hours on the rack to get it all straight. Looks almost as good as new. I would just pay to get your car fixed rather than having to swap all the stuff onto a new shell. just my opinion though.
  5. I bought mine cause it looks decent, gets 35mpg, and is pretty entertaining to drive. Something totally stupid about being able to hold your foot on the floor for more than 3 seconds before breaking laws..... Also there is something to be said for honda (and toyota for that matter) with their reliablity. Ive been thinking about it since ive had the car, rice is a state of mind more than anything else.
  6. I dont think anyone will chase you away. I just bought a honda myself, my first one (HA) its a 96 civic hatch with a bunch of body mods, motor is stock and its great, 35mpg! I would for sure look at the K series motors, I just joined up at http://www.k20a.org lots of interesting stuff over there. Heres a pic
  7. If you end up not getting this car... I know someone who would be interested in it. A coworker of mine got rear ended last week in is 70... got totalled.
  8. you should post a link to help any future searchers!
  9. I thought about using the LD block, but never go around to it. Im pretty sure DAW is running one, im not sure who else.
  10. yeah, ive thought about it. Specially when my friends SRT just put down 409 whp on stock internals. I would think you could mate up whatever tranny you wanted to with that jeep bellhousing. just a matter of the right clutch setup.
  11. Any thoughts on S2000 seats? Ive seen a few sets for sale and curious if anyone had tried those.
  12. I was hoping the rear glass was going to break
  13. I think thats the best picture ive seen on here in a while...... thinking about going out int he garage and doing it myself.... I still dont have my new airdam though.
  14. A cam is a cam as far as I know. I was just relating information that I knew to a question I had.
  15. Does anyone know the base circle difference in the two cams? In the VW/Audi world you can have the solid lifter cams (larger base circle) reground to be uses in a hydro lifter (smaller base circle) head. This makes it possible to have a bigger cam/s reground without having to add material to them. Just a looming question from the back of my mind. Later Kenny
  16. Agreed, we lost a fomula ford motor, and a lotus twincam to brass fittings.....
  17. Yeah, there is Z sport in Everett, and Z specialties in Snohomish. Ive bought parts from both, but never had any work done at either.
  18. I like the powered by creativity. thats a good one. My thought.... 'HybridZ, 101 engine choices and counting'
  19. Huh, thats some motivation to get my RB running...... Dyno shop here is like $125 an hour, or $75 an hour at the diesel truck place, they dont have a/f hookup though.
  20. Ive got a set of the old mk3 supra turbo injectors. I cant remember if they are high or low impedance. The are top feed, small (10-12mm maybe) Oring on the top, and the same size as the Z injectors on the bottom. They are 440cc @ 4bar. Ill snap a pic of them later tonite and post them up. Later Kenny
  21. I ran a 215-40-16, it was quite the low profile. 225-50-16 is a popular size. Your fitting these to a 280zx? I cant give an accurate guess whether they will fit a ZX or not. Most times offsets are listed, + will cause the wheel to be more sunken into the fender, closer to the struts, more inboard, whatever you want to call it. When an offset is listed with a - , that will mean the wheel is more outboard, has more dish and sits flush with the fender, or sticks out past the fender.
  22. I ran a 16x7.5 ET20 with no issues on my Z, other than they didnt sit flush with the fenders, they were inset pretty bad. Also spring perch clearance was next to nothing, actually now that I think about it, I had to run 8mm spacers in the front and rear. A 7" wide wheel with ET20 would fit, but not look good.
  23. ive done two installs, and dyno tuned one. I dont know any specific shops, at my old work, we fit one to a E-type jag and dyno'd it in redmond. The dyno shop let us do our own tuning and they just had a "dyno operator" do the dyno computer stuff. If I remember the shops name, I will post it up. Its slipping my mind right now.
