Got back to sanding tonight, after that sand blaster fiasco I needed to get ahead heres what I can got done with a 3m disk and 80grit I got really thirsty and it was hot so I had myself a cold one as a break What a good advertisement this would be lol. Heres after the beer, I got maybe 30% of the engine bay done, I was also tackling the back bumper area…so much bondo back there. I may have to order a new back piece as well from black dragon auto along with me rear arches. That beer made me super tired so I got a good rest all relaxed knowing a lot of work got done.

Well I tried out my new sand blaster from harbor freight and it...sucks the max psi Is 90, I fine glass beads and course walnut shells. I don't know why it wouldn't take paint off...maybe I'm doing something wrong but since it didn't work I went to try my friend's blaster and the only difference is mine actually cent use the walnuts, his can. After a few attempts i gave up swapping out the air inlet fRom the compressor to blaster I just went back to sanding. Not much done maybe 20-30% of the engine bay. Good news is since my head will be done this week I ordered some parts to put it back together. To be continued...

Yes I think I will. Jest checked on my head. Should be ready next week for me to pick up, I wanted to have the valve seats replaced but that was just too much money, so it'll be all clean and read to put back on my block, since this is my first motor build we'll see if I can do that and if so I'll build a performance motor afterwards.

Got my sand blaster today with glass beeds and walnut shells. Ill be doing that today along with hopefully picking up my head at the shop or making sure its done in the next week or so. Cam coming in the mail(found one really cheap so I figured id give it a go).

Tomorrow is going to be a good day, I'll be starting the sand blasting on a few small parts, bumper, and some interior parts of the car. I Have glass beads for that and walnut shell for the block so I can repaint it black. I'll also be checking on my head, should be done this week or next and I can start putting the motor back together. A good day indeed.

Nice, you almost got it. Im sure you'll have it done before you go to JCCS. Having a backup dizzy is a sweet Idea if anything goes sour.

Thats the story I got. But if you click the link on my first post it says the stats of it. A lot of people say it isn't really worth it and to buy a better cam. Its not the greatest on specs but it would be nice to have. B. Whiskey- depends on if it needs work, A new cam with better specs go for 125-300 bucks. Since its specs arent the highest and if I had to do work on it would depend on the offer. Im pretty sure I don't want to pay as much for a new cam price though.

Just get some simple green cleaner put it in something that will fit the head and is metal and heat it up. Its not caustic to the head and bio degradable. The hot cleaner will loosen all the crap in the head then you can spray it out with a hose. Doing that a few times will clean almost everything off plus its cheap. Hot tanking may be a few bucks but it will be done for you so it's your call.

That looks to be a C cam. The letters were in capitols so only the C woulding have that shape. How much? Can I see more pics of it?

I have a big air compressor, I just ordered the handheld gun and 25 pounds of walnut shells. It was cheaper then the pressure blaster.

Lookin good. Let me know how it works out when you finish it up. What was the total cost for all parts again? Would be nice to have way better spark and timing.

Im going to seek out a small sand blaster and use it on the head light bucket and a couple spots I missed. Way too many angles for a sander and too weird to scrape with air craft stripper.

Well I'm getting really close now to starting on the repairs. This Is all my time well spent on sanding and paint stripping. All I have to do is get thJose head light buckets cleaned and finish the hatch and bumper. And I bought this on eBay last week and it finally came in. A newish rear tail light backing. It Is missing a cover so if anyone has one please kettle me know. The one on the bottom came with the car. Broken and not the right one.

Good meeting you too! It was a treat seeing your car and going for a ride. I'll be working more again today and posting a update, unlike the peninsula it is very hot over here about 100 deg right now, so im hiding inside for the whole day till a little later. I was going to ask what size were your panasports? I want to look into rota rkr's but i have nothing to compare it too. I'll get my car finished up soon and i'll drive on over in that next rather then the crappy work van
