  1. Looking for this C stamp cam in this cam spec sheet. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/cam/index.htm
  2. Looking for a 260z cam, want to keep my car stock, I wanted to go with that cam because it was still with stock parts. Hope theres one around for a good price. Alex
  3. Its been awhile, but im back at it. I bought myself an electric sander since i was tired of letting the air compressor rest while using the air sander. But now that im back to my sanding i should be able to get more sanding done quicker. I have my head back right now, getting some gunk out of the threads that didnt get washed out. After I get it out the head goes back to the shop, I think Im getting a good price on the work which is why im cleaning out the threading, its taking long time to get this head done though, the valve seats need to be replaced but im not going to the that yet since i just want to run it stock with triple carbs.
  4. Good luck! Im restoring my 70 240z. Wish I went that rout so I could drive her, but as it stands Im going to have to complete it then drive it. Way to far a long lol. GREAT YEAR! lightest of them all.
  5. I saw the speed hunter car at performance options when I picked up my 83 zx 5 speed transmission. Oak pd showed up ad was like "sweet ride" lol
  6. I'm pretty sure the 240z's had Vaporlock issues, head is a great idea from Leon. Def wrap your headers and of it helps the fuel lines as well. You should even see what your temp is at when the car starts acting funny. You may even want to get a vent on your hood or find another hood to install one on.
  7. Just buy another L motor and do a swap. You can drive still and also have a L series to build up for a speedy good time
  8. Ahh ok, that looks great! Did you make a plate or buy it online? I found it online for 140 bucks, I need to get a angle grinder to get some of the rust off the bottom Side of where the plate used to be and weld a few new pieces on in that area.
  9. I replied back to your post on my thread. I have the enkie 96's. I think you have the enkie 92's. I'm getting rid of mine it isn't my thing.
  10. Wow I'm in for a lot since I've never done this. So I've been doing some research and unread that putting a very thin layer of body filler before the first primer spray gives it a professional finish. Did you do that or just spray the primer first?
  11. Thanks man! Yeah I've been missing out on the driving experience since starting this resto. If I ever get a new job and I'm still working on my Z, I'm totally buying a Z to drive lol.
  12. I have my mn47 waiting for me for when it's time. But I have a question about which block to use since I read and also chimed in on this thread. Is the mn47 head better for a L24 head or is it better for a L28... With or without work done?
  13. I have to order my hatch Sill plate and continue sanding. I'm getting side tracked since my daily is not feeling to good, I did a motor pull Sunday so I can have that installed by my mechanic since I need it done quick and prefer to pay someone to do it for me in a couple days but I'll be back on the road soon. I'm going to try and get some sanding done soon, im buying a electric sander this week so I don't have the air compressor have 15 min rest periods lol. Btw how high of a sand paper will you be using, I was going to wet sand with 1000-2000 grit when it came down to it. I want it to look like a professional did it as much as I can lol.
  14. I have the enkie 96's that came with the car, I'll be getting rid of those since they aren't my style. You have the enkie 92's I believe.
  15. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/101191-1970-240z-project-very-slow-money-is-tight/# Here you go, I'll be making another video soon about body work. Itll be the easiest way for someone who doesn't wan to pay a lot of money and doesn't mind getting dirty. I'll also say what is the easiest way incase you have the money lol.
  16. You got a great deal my friend. Good luck with the build! I'm doing everything myself on my 70 240z. Check out my thread, Ive had the car for two years now but working on it for about a solid year with work and getting married. I've never done any body stuff but so far it's going great...just slow. If you have any questions pm me I'd be glad to lend my input.
  17. How long will it take to do this build? Might as well post pics what you do to the project so you can get feed back. And give everyone the same motivation you have to do the same thing
  18. My friend said he's getting spark and there is fuel, weird that it has a ecu with carbs he verified that for me. I'm wondering if it controls a crank sensor or something like that. They were looking into getting an older dizzy if the motors were the same in the 86 model that had no ecu with carbs. I'll suggest putting it back the ecu.
  19. So I have a friend that's getting this 87 sentra ready for a destruction derby in sep. Last week they went to try and get the car up and running. It's carbureted with an ecu, I guess they pulled out the wiring harness and ecu and not the car won't fire up. Now I thought if its carbureted it wouldn't need an ecu but apparently this model does. Is there any way they can get the car up and running without the ecu? The motor ran before and they didn't touch anything mechanical on it. Sorry this is not Z related but I just wanted to ask incase anyone knew on here. I do know that the 86 sentra didn't have an ecu and was carbed but I thinknitnwa a different motor too.
  20. I'm just doing a light rebuild on my L24 and running it with triples. I won't be able to drive my car for awhile though since I'm doing a full restore. Listen to Leon and I get a motor to drive since you'll love driving your Z anyways right? Build a performance motor on the side. Your su's can be massaged a bit to give you some better performance to.
  21. I was thinking of doing a mn47 an dished piston set up to keep compression down. But as I asked people on here they told me going that rout you don't take advantage of the quench pads on the mn47 head with dished pistons as you would with the flat top pistons. That set up is what I'm going to end up doing if I don't go with a n42 he's shaved set up. I will say this, look into higher octane gas in your area if you do flat tops with that head. If you have to spend money at least spend it on what you want, otherwise find a stock motor in good condition and run it till you know what you want. Do it right the first time
  22. Lookin forward to joining you guys soon on a drive. I'm Jealous!
