  1. Well since its not a 240z from the front grill, rear tail lights and the blue air box I'd say if he drops the price a lot go for it. Leaky motor can and be an easy fix if its the drain plug or gasket to pan etc. You'll have to look at it in person to tell maybe have a mechanic take a peak if you think he'll let you do that. But with the smoke that's questionable...could be carbs, rings going, etc. Ask the guy for a compression test or even have that done at a shop near by so they can look at the leak too. Tell him to also show you the car fax jk
  2. Ahh yea it looked weathered, will def need some work. But for the price finding a hood and getting it up and running might be ok if you want to put some elbow grease in.
  3. Yeah I wouldn't build that myself lol. I would source some parts and have a builder do it for me. But putting some other Z motors together I would have a go at. Or just call up Rebello Racing and buy one with a good warranty
  4. Ohh good deal! I'll have to keep an eye out for your posts then. I still don't know what im going to build when Im done restoring and getting the Z up and running. I really want a Stroker motor, but a High compression motor is cheaper to build.
  5. I have a f54 and an mn47 too. I was going to do the same thing...but I read a lot about the head having too high compression and pinging a lot using pump gas. But if you plan on using race gas that won't be an issue from what I've read. I also heard some head work def needs to be done.
  6. What is your plans? I have one I got for 40 bucks with a p79 included.
  7. Honestly if you want a 240z, you can just find a better shape one. But if you want to restore it then its up to you if you want to put in the time and effort. Being its a 1970 year it should be the lightest of the Z's around, but if your looking to do a swap you might have some problems with flexing depending when your plans are when your done. 1970 year is still pretty early in my opinion, but also depends on the price of the car...how much is the car btw? Any pics?
  8. I have number 000979 which I got for free even though it was a running car, and was repainted... I found some rust on it, so thats when I decided to take it apart and restore it, I have spent a lot of time and its not close to done, but it will be in perfect condition when Im done. I did have to find an e31 head(someone put on an e88 which wasn't period correct) but it was be a sweet ride.
  9. Looking for a triples manifold. PM me what you have
  10. Ohh you sold her? Got it. Rust is def not a positive when wanting to drive a car you like.
  11. What happened to the 240z you were working on?
  12. I think this belongs in the drivetrain section...How bought I buy it from you?
  13. Wow...Thats actually really amazing and lucky! I wish my Z got me a job...
  14. If you had the euro/jdm tail lights for your 280z why cut to fit the euro/jdm light from a 240? Looks? If so I like the 240z lights way better then the rest.
  15. Sweet ride! Im still eyeballing this 260(I haven't gotten up passed the bushes to double check)z But the body looks good and its avocado green lol. It could use some new rim and tires and itll be a looker!
  16. Im guilty of being lazy and not even looking up the names of the cars mentioned lol. And the focus part I was reading through a Focus St forum. I think the UK had more then 3 gens, and I think I skipped counting our lol my bad.
  17. So what would be the point for just pics of the head? Are you planning on mass producing one?
  18. No we don't get those Nissans here in the US, the new Focus is the "2nd gen" we have here in the US. The Focus had many gens in other parts of the world. When The focus first came out we got the first gen, then the 2nd gen...but that was the same as the first, and so fourth. Since it changed in other countries and we lost it, Im considering it the 2nd gen lol. But its supposed to be so good, quick steering, good power, handling i superb. The PS is supposed to be the best in the business right now for EPS.
  19. Yea it was pretty sad they didn't know anything about the car. I suspect they wouldn't even know anything about upgrades in the future or recalls or anything car nature for that matter lol
  20. Let me know what you don't plan to use
  21. Well as long as you know what you want done, the machine shop I took my other head to is good as long as you know what you want, the price was so good. They have limitations because of the age and how much room they have in the shop, and one of the guys used to work on Datsun's. I was going to go to a shop over here in livermore called terry tinney performance. They do classic race cars and seem t be really good, but the work I was outta my price at the time since I had a made a lot less back then. http://www.terrytinney.com/
