  1. who gave me a -1 reputation????

  2. Right on, I think I am going to get them, Im not a big fan of the jdm flares on this Z. Maybe on another Z lol
  3. I'm thinking about it. It's either that or buy new panels. 80 bucks each side. http://www.blackdragonauto.com/icatalog/zr/full.aspx?Page=18
  4. I know it's ultimately my decision. It is car number 979,1/70 date so I'm not sure yet. One side panel is like 80 bucks.
  5. After taking off through paint in the rear wheel arches I can now say both have a lot of rust. What should I do? Cut it and install those jdm fender flares? Fill with body filler again? Or maybe source out some wheel arches cut and weld those parts? Pics to come in a little bit since since at 11pm Hz tends to not work for some reason.
  6. Anyone have any suggestions on where to go with this? I do see a way to fill this with a welder. Either body filler or cutting the wheel area off and either put wheel skirts or another Z piece if I can find one.
  7. It does! Remember that one time you came to my rescue? Lol . If you need help tamo just ask, my YouTube vids show I was almost going through the same thing.
  8. I think your car looks pretty clean. How much did you pay for it?
  9. No idea, to be honest half the csr has been stripped for over 6 months now, but i live in a dry place and its summer time. Should hopefully be ready by winter for paint
  10. Went to town today on the Z. It's my birthday tomorrow, so I took off today and tomorrow to work on the Z. I have the passenger fender And passenger rear side almost all down to bare metal. Pics to come, I did it all for about 3.5 hours sanding one thing down and letting the paint stripper do its thing on the other. Shell be almost ready to fix the damage spots real soon. I also turned the whole car around in the garage to face the other way last night...that took awhile but it was all worth it.
  11. Got it. I'll probably pass on it, I thought it was supposed to be better then the other cams thats were stock. But after all thats been said I'll just stay with my "A" cam that doesn't need work. I have other cams to send in as cores, but since I was just putting my 70 back together and rebuilding the motor I thought the C would've been better and still in the stock area. Oh well... I'll save the cash.
  12. I see, yea since I don't know to much about cams yet, now I know the numbers looked better numbers wise, but couldn't tell how much better. I don't want to throw money away lol. I always wanted retro performance parts is my problem. Can I come by this weekend for the spin?! Well Im im pretty sure i'll be ordering a different cam from a shop for the motor I want to put together when my cars done.
  13. It's too small if I want to run it with intention of using my triples for a performance motor later? Do they not run right?
  14. Yeah, see thats what im thinking. Or just keep looking for another cam that is cheaper?
  15. The last pic I posted has the specs. This isn't my big build which is why I woul'dnt mind having it and spending a lot of money on a new cam. I have my f54 block sitting and waiting till my z is done and driving
  16. I think theres some info on about removing the liners don't improve anything for the head. I would leave them, I have a MN47 thats in pretty good condition sitting in my attic.
  17. Hey guys, wanted to get your opinion. I've been looking for the Datsun Nismo comp cam stamped with the letter "C". My question for you guys is how aggressive is this cam? How much do you think I should pay for it, and I was told by a Datsun Z shop/parts seller/ enthusiast that its not that great of a cam. The set I want to have for when my car is done is triple mikuni carbs, e31 head/e31 block, and use this cam. Now the goal is just to have mild spirited driving on the back roads and around town, maybe try out an autoX if the cash comes up. But i'll be building a performance motor afterwards. So let me know your thoughts, here are some pics in the cams condition. The guy wants $125 plus shipping w/out rockers, he was told by an engine builder it was worth $150, so the cam would be 150 w/ rockers. The cam definitely has surface rust and will need to get cleaned up. Would I want to use the same rockers or after it gets cleaned should I get rockers from wolf creek racing? I have the specs in the last pic.
  18. Heres a video on how im stripping the paint off the Z. Trying to multi task by doing something else while waiting for the paint to strip.
  19. An update finally... Haven't been on it much since my commuter car has been giving me a lot of problems. Anyways, im done sanding 1 fender, im sanding thing second fender, should be done soon with that and onto repairing holes and the hatch and frame. Im about 99% sure im going to take the car to Maaco and pay for the better paint job. Thinking to really drive the car now so I want to try and finish as soon as i can. Here's a short video diary of everything going on right now.
  20. Good looking out. I'll send them both a email.
  21. Looking to buy the 260z Nismo cam Stamped with the letter C on the firewall end.
