Aux, We like you, you know that. This Auxiliary shrine thread is evidence of that… Being as there are many other forums for porn, perversions, and other not so family friendly topics, those sort of topics that get posted on HybridZ will be deleted. We don’t mind off topic threads and humor such as this, but it must remain family friendly, i.e. if you wouldn’t allow your own children to view or read something, then it shouldn’t be posted. Helps keep this forum on the professional level that it is. We don't want HybridZ to become just another gutter car/porn forum. I just resurrected your last thread in the tool shed with a couple teensy weensy alterations… family friendly now. Aux's "Christina Augeliliereuileualla" thread. Take care, Paul

ADMINS!!!!!!!!!! Can we remove the 15 seconds-between-searchs thing?
BRAAP replied to aziza z's topic in Site Support
In a recent investigation of "deal implementation", apparently "deal" is IM slang for “Ch’yea, right!†-
I wonder what the penalty is for 3rd degree thread jacking!!! Hmmm…. Mopar69

Need Help Urgently Please! Anyone Have A Spare EFI Relay for a 280Z?
BRAAP replied to slownrusty's topic in Non Tech Board
Yasin, The part in the engine side of the engine bay is the dropping resistors, not a relay. I've never seen those go bad, though I guess it could happen. Easy to test. Verify power TO the dropping resistors. If that is good, then verify power out of the dropping resistors. -
OMG!!!!! Proof once again there is never a shortage of stupid people...

I just checked this threads mod history and there is “no†history, i.e none of the admins have edited or altered this thread at all. Sorry fella’s. We have no explanation for it. Chalk it up to one of those Twilight Zone moments I guess.

Does sound fishy. Hmmm …

Wasn't me... this time around anyway, honest..

What block and cylinder head are you running? If the pistons are flat tops, the OE flat top pistons pop up out of the bore approx .020â€-.025†inch, which is perfectly normal. If they did pop up .250†they WOULD contact the cylinder head as your gasket is not ¼†thick. Here is a picture of the OE flat top pistons protruding above the deck surface, .023â€

BRAAP replied to aziza z's topic in Site Support
Aziza, I’ll make you a deal. If you will start to capitalize your sentences and please use proper grammar, not IM format, (using “u†instead of “youâ€), I’ll look into this for you, no guarantees that I can fix it or alter it, but I will at least make an effort if you will. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=115824 -

The 240-SX throttle body, as far as I am aware, has no integral idle speed adjustment, same as the late ZX and ZX-T throttle body, like what you currently have, which means you’d still be in the same exact situation that you are in now, having to adjust idle speed using the throttle stop. The Z-31 throttle body does NOT have integral idle air bypass either. Now the early 280-Z, (’75 through at least ’78, possibly through early ’81, though I can’t confirm that), DID have an integral idle air bypass, (I’ve got early 280-Z, late 280-ZX and Z-31 throttle bodies here). The N/A 280-ZX from ’81 on, (possibly earlier), utilized an external adjustable idle air bypass, functions just like the early 280-Z integral style, but is external/remote, not integral with the throttle body itself, (see pics below). Due to the fact that you eliminated a lot the ZX-T intake manifold stuff, it seems like it would just be easier to incorporate the N/A ZX idle air bypass or the early 280-Z throttle body, than to install a throttle body that doesn’t offer any more idle speed adjustment than the throttle body you are currently using. This remote idle speed adjuster is dirt cheap at the wrecking yard, easy to plumb, can be located ANY where on/in the car, (with enough vacuum hose, even inside the cockpit if you wish). Here is the N/A ZX idle speed controller as mounted in the car, on the side of the manifold itself. Here is one of those OFF the car. Here you can see the slotted adjuster, (flat blade screw driver to adjust idle speed via regulating air flow that bypass the throttle valve itself).

Ron is correct regarding the body of the posts. Regarding the titles, as far as I am aware, we have never had the option to edit the thread title. That is an admin/mod privelage.

YES! We are very much interested. Thank you, Paul

Later '81-'83 N/A 280-ZX's came from the factory with a remote mounted idle bypass screw, attached to the side of the plenum, allowing idle speed adjustment by altering the air bypassing the throttle plate, i.e. no need to adjust throttle stop. I thought the Turbo cars did as well? I didn't know the 240-SX throttle body even had the idle bypass built in? Do you have a picture of that? In short, swapping to a 240-SX throttle body just to acquire idle speed control really doesn't make sense.

Titling your threads; In the New Members section of this fourm, vague titles such as “hi†or “I’m new here†are fine. Out in the main forum that is NOT acceptable. Please post a subject title befitting your question or topic of discussion. Vague pointless titles only serve to muddle up the data base when others use the search function. We don’t have the time to go and edit all of them so as we come across vaguely titled threads, those threads will get tossed in the shed. If you made an attempt to title your subject appropriately and misspelled or need to make an adjustment to your title, contact an Admin via Private Message and one of us will be more than happy to edit your title for you, but please make an effort to title your thread appropriately. Remember, the search function is only as good as your title and your post body, including the spelling. Please read this link in its entirety, including #3; Click ME and please read. Thank you, Paul HybridZ Staff

Any cam with any amount of lift/duration greater than a stock cam should utilize stiffer springs than stock! This is not to say you can just pick any old stiff spring and use it. The springs should be “matched†to the cam. The cam manufactures recommend a specific spring for a reason. It matches that cam and its intended usage and RPM range. Follow those recommendations. In short, if you get the cam, get the matching springs. Also, if you are using the stock EFI, do yourself a HUGE favor! Do NOT install any cam other than a stock cam with the stock EFI! You will make more power and have better drivability with the stock cam when using the stock 280 EFI! Now if you plan to use Mega squirt, or some other after market EFI and you want more upper end power, then by all means, more cam, but don’t do it with the stock EFI. You will end up with less power (at best equal peak power), and have flat spots and hesitations all over the RPM range at different loads that you can NOT tune out or around. Also, the stock EFI intake manifold is not a great serious performance intake. It works great with the stock cam for mild applications, but if a more radical power-band is wanted, some form of alternate intake manifold should be on your list. The stock intake runners are only 53% the size of the intake valve itself in square area! Almost HALF! Good luck, Paul

"... Muhahahahaaa… Look Ron.. Another Victim!!!... " Ron Tyler and myself have been auto crossing with this group linked below since the late ‘80’s based in Eugene. Other HybridZ members that race there on occasion are Tube80z, Savage42, Burrl, Viperredls1, My father used to as well before he built the Big Block Mopar Z. There is also another group in Medford, they race at the Jackson County sports park pictured below/ It is go kart track. Like a 3/4-7/8 scale road course! WOOHOO!!! Ice breaker is the first event of the season, held in Eugene, March 2nd this year. Usually a pretty big turnout, always a good time. Just so happens that there is at least one, if not a few local Z car auto crossers that live in the Bend Redmond area campaigning pretty radical Z cars. Morgan and his son take their auto crossing pretty seriously. http://www.eescc.org/ The EESCC 2008 Schedule.. http://www.eescc.org/EESCC2008Schedule.cfm Here is the Jackson County sports park ..
