  1. my cam/header LS1 car does 390+rwhp through an auto and stock head. thats pretty close to 500 crank... spray on it... well over the spit number. and the only thing that could happen is that Ford boys are embarassed that someone is putting stock LS1 heads on their motors and making better hp than anything they can come up with.
  2. its tiny. might as well just stick with the stock cam. you wont be gaining very much hp over stock and you will lose some drivablity with that cam.. why not just loose a bit more and get a hp return thats worth it?
  3. if you find another one for a grand let me know haha nice progress... hows the LS2 pan fit in there? maybe get some underneith pics.. oh and i hope you are switching to polyurithane motor and trans mount..
  4. honestly, dont put in that cam. leave the stock cam in there or get something like the G5x4. i have the G5x3 on 110 and its just as drivable as a car with a stock cam. its all in the tune. have a good tune on the car and you wont have problems. but the "big" cam will make so much more hp
  5. early 2000 motors had 853 heads, late 2000 had 241 heads. The 2000 was the first year for the revised block that allowed for better oil return so you dont spin bearings. has LS1 intake and a bigger cam than 2001 up motors. 2002 motor has better redesigned rod bolts 241 heads and the LS6 intake. has a smaller cam (not much smaller) also has the good oil return. it dosent matter if its an LS6 block. the LS6 block is actualy weaker and the LS1 block is more desirable. if there is a price diffrence. i would buy the cheaper one. you are going to want to replace the rod bolts reguardless. and a brand spanking new LS6 intake to your door is like $400, but if you are going to cam it or put heads on it you will want a single plane carbed intake with injectors and a huge TB anyways.
  6. best heads you can buy for a Ford. ha he better have an aftermarket block. with LSx heads and a cam he will be in stock block splitting territory.. ha
  7. depends on how much the guy wants for that motor and everything... how much does he want for it? if you are going to do a carb.. id go big block chevy.. building a big block and building an LSx based motor are about the same.. and both fit in the chassis fine... i would say that you should do fuel injection. you can get LQ4s for $1000 for a complete motor. the way you would do it is get a LQ4. put L92 heads on it. a L92 carbed intake drilled for injectors, cam and then a 4 barrel throttle body on top of it.. but thats just what i plan on doing..
  8. I was thinking.. could the front LCA be combined with the TC rod to make some sort of a arm? A lot of people make their own LCAs.. and then also TC rods.. what if the TC rod didnt bolt to the LCA but was welded to or part of it. having adjustable ends where it connects to the body at the LCA and at the TC rod.. would this present any issues i am overlooking?
  9. are these suppose to be vented direct replacement rotors.. or what..
  10. took forever.. 90+ degrees in long sleeve shirt, pants, gloves, hood.. sand flying everywhere. spending $100 on sand.. undercoating... etc etc
  11. if you paint the car red you should def paint it a matte black.. it would look pimp
  12. very nice. what exhaust/headers are you using?
  13. yeah.. i did the whole inside and front end of my car during a summer outside... it sucked.
  14. very nice... i kinda want to do the same thing.. with circular tail lights.. the only thing id do diffrently than you is make my tail pannel removable. but you said you were trying to fight rust.. looks very good!
  15. wow. that evo has all that and only mustered a 12.0? something is wrong.. my cam/header/stall Camaro is running 11.7s and an evo around here with just a turbo back is running 12.0s and 11.7s on a 50 shot. but you will love your LSx swap every time you start it up.. what are your mods going to be?
  16. is it an LS2 vette pan? GTOs are front sump and wont work..
  17. so im kinda a tall guy.. and i was wonder that when i make a cage for my car, can the hoop that goes behind the seats and up over my head be leaning back? ive heard some nasty things about NHRA requiring the hoop to be vertical... im just looking to get some extra room in an already very tight space..
  18. i have 2 LT1s.. and i hate both of them... you can get LQ4s for $800 and its 100xs better of a motor..
  19. i bought my car as a started backhalf.. i honestly wish mine was all still there. but ill work with what i got. my main suggestion would be to buy a whole Moser rear end.. i got a 9 inch with my car.. and i already have like $600 in it and its just a 2.73 open rear end.. if i would do it over id just call Moser and have them build you a rear end whatever width, with whatever gear you wanted..
  20. looks like a very clean install. congrats.. you will love that LSx motor
  21. the LSx motors are tiny.. the motor than came out of it was a huge OHC motor.. im sure the LSx is narrower and ligher.. ha.
