  1. Ya I know PLATA she is not good on gas milage. I am hoping that I can replace the engine with a newer fuel injected vg30. it has 235k miles and I'm sure that's plenty to justify a rebuild and stock fi upgrade. I'm surfing the innerwebz trying to find out if I can upgrade my VG with a newer fi manifold. also I need to find a stock Nissan fi computer and wire harness.
  2. She is mint, other than the engine compartment needs a bath. Nothing modified either, and it has a factory tow package!
  3. Yup its Canadian! XE v6, mfr date 10-1986. Absolutely no rust what so ever we got 3inches of snow here in the greater Seattle area over night so I got a good Chance to play with the 4x4. Everything works perfectly. I will post some interior pix later, its in flawless condition!
  4. got my hands on a 2 door Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 5 speed, 235,000 miles, 1 owner!! Has all maintenance records, and original owners manual. This thing is super clean!! never smoked in, has original cassette tape deck radio. I did get the car fax to prove ownership. 2 things need attention, 1-the brake warning light stays on and the brake pedal pulses when applying hard pressure. 2-the low fuel light stays on, the fuel level indicator does work. The engine compartment needs cleaning as it appears that the passenger side valve cover has a small leak. What really surprised me is that the VG30 is carbureted!! I thought they were all fuel injected??? Time for some research....
  5. So after a 7 year hiatus I'm operating heavy equipment again. I did miss the awesome power of a good turbo diesel. There is just something about a kenworth w9 twin screw, the song that the turbo sings!!! And the awesome raw power, nothing like it If any of you peeps get the chance to get a ride along in a tractor its worth it! Right now I have a fl70 26ft box truck to drive, no kenworth but she does fine for now. Unfortunately I didn't think I would be back driving trucks again and I didn't renew my license for class A, so its small trucks for now. I'm still kicking my hiney for selling the W9, man what a rig she was!! Twin screw, locking diff's, 10 speed high-low gear box, twin air intakes, super sleeper, built in generator, 32 inch LCD, seating for 4, dual captains chairs, mini fridge, twin 8 inch stacks with heat shield. Geez what a fool I was thinking I could work in an office, big rigs are in my blood. Now I'm back for good, should have never left that's for damn sure!!
  6. ya know they do make miniature ducted type cooling fans for pc's. I would think you may possibly be able to slip one right inside your hose going to the defroster itself??? I measured the unit I have on my pc and its only 2 inch OD!! Its called the volcano vortex. It is several years old but maybe google can help ya find one
  7. The new system works great, good heat thru the dash vents and defrost at the same time!! However there is that new plastic type smell from the new heater core box that is going to take time to go away. Its rather stinky so I picked up a febreeze unit for automoive use. I do hope at some point that smell will go away. I would recomend this system for some body that doesnt currnetly have a heater core unit and wants good reliable heat in the cabin. Its a good price and requires a small amount of fabrication for what you get. It does get a bit tricky routing the hose connections for the passenger side dash vent due to the shape of the glove box. It is easy enough to go get heat riser hose for extra plumbing of the air as seen in another post here in the interior section.
  8. Atleast i had the wherewith all to apologize tonyd. And now you call me a cheap bastard after what you originaly said via pm. Shame on you, no better than the people you shake your bad boy stick at. My fault was trusting what you originally posted, not bad information, just very mis-leading. I understand you get tosay as you will here due to your funds keeping the lights on arou d here. Thanks for that. That said, atleast I had the guts to apologize while you still point the finger in other directions instead of owning up to the fact that what you originally posted is very mis-leading. Good day.
  9. Have faith!! With what i learned earlier today about the controller, its litteraly the size of a stick of gum!! My idea is making an ignition system all built into a dist cap size. Basically you would take your stock dizzy, remove the guts and install my unit. Then get the bosch pencil type cop coils, do some wiring, do a little programing and done!! I already have the setup i designed driving the cop coils, now i just gota add the map sensor and the main pc driver board. Im currently waiting to hear back from my pc friends about the program i wrote. I hope that v15.0 is a go!! Im so close, so close.... I even have my company name and logo design for the top of the new cap. Right now we are looking at either hdpe or delron for the cap material. As for now im using a couple of modified spray paint can lids, just for mock up purposes.
  10. You good sir do not need to apologize. I made a mistake by taking the first post in this topic as good information. It was an error on behalf of the original poster and is slight mis-information. I made the mistake in trusting this information and did not do my own research in the matter before emailing you, thus our mis-communication. My error in judgement on mis-information will end up making me look like an international moron, and it is MY mistake not yours. Now that i have all the correct facts and done my homework in this matter, I apologize for the mistake. I trusted the information posted bt another forums member with out performing the proper research about the product!Again I apologize to you, and I will end up apologizing to the dutchies about this. The product you make available is fantastic and I wish you the best of luck!!! On a side note this has givin me the push to finish my own ignition system, so in the end I still get what I was originally after. Also I learned a valuable lesson, to err is human. Even the best people with the best intentions will make mistakes in posting errent information about a product or service without performing the proper research!!!! Lesson learned- ALWAYS do your homework Good day sir and have happy hollidays!!!!
  11. I have decided to put my engineer brother and pc programming frineds onto my own ignition system. Things are going well and soon i hope to be able to supply my own distributor driven dual fire cop ignition system, fully programable and with boost retard capabilities!! Current progress now is the writing of the program while i figure out how to stuff all the electronics into a modified distributor with a oiding electronic signal cross talk. I will keep you all posted!!! This is not a joke people, its just going to take some time to work out all the bugs i do have a working prototype as of now, but not currently pc controlled. Im just workig on how the signal inputs work with the pencil type cop coils...
  12. The holley is a good choice, i like mine. Check with allstate carb in central isip new york, they can do you a good setup!! If you get stuck and need help with your holley carb send me a pm!
  13. I was hoping this blue was a little darker, but it works. Thanks plasti-dip!!
  14. Old style diaphram. The throttle base plate was former racing equiptment, and i highly modified that. Now the throttle shafts close at a further rate than before, this causes pump cam misallignment. Custom 3 piece heat shield this material from boeing samwiched in the middle. Thermal resistance is good to 10,000f or so says my engineer friend. There is also more heat shielding behind the shielding you see.
  15. Thermally switched, 170 deg f, sensor has been moved to under thermostat. I need to post new pictures of the engine compartment, i moved tome things around for optimization.
  16. Honestly I personally have to say that running the holley/turbo is my favorate. All 6 plugs have that golden brown coloring. One thing I did learn is that this beast does take some time to warm up and peak performance comes with 200 deg f coolant temps. The last thing on my check list is to manufacture a custom pump shot cam, im currently running the green cam on hole 1 and its ever so slightly late in its function compaired to the throttle opening. I need to get that shot right on the edege of the throttle opening and right now its off by about 10 deg of throttle opening.
  17. I think at this point I'm going to wait to hear directly from the manufacturer to avoid any further confusion. I don't wish to spread any misinformation about this product or the company. The email I got said they will be out of the office until Jan 6th, so I wait. no worries I believe that NewZed is on the right track with Xnke! only time will tell. thanks gentlemen for your input, and have merry holidays
  18. Ok so the us supplier is not going to be friendly so dont waist your time dealing with him. He laughed at the information TonyD has shared here on hbz. I will be giving the owners in the netherlands all my communication with the us supplier and get this mess straightened out after the new year...
  19. So the us supplier is trying to charge me an additional 90$ to retrofit a unit to fit my z. I emailed the guy in the netherlands, he is out till jan 6th. I am going to wait until then and straighten this mess out!!! Geez what foolishness :-/
  20. Email sent to the dutch company, with explination. We shall see what becomes of this as i do really want that distributor!!!
  21. And Thanks again for your help and information about this product, i cant wait to get one installed on my blow thru z!!!!!
  22. Im currently waiting a responce to the forwarded information to the us supplier. We shall see what they have to say, however the dutch site says they will be outa the office from dec20 to jan3, so its a waiting game at this point :-/
  23. I have been emailing the us supplier all day. They inform me that they currently do not have a unit for the datsun L series engines. Wierd. Anyways they asked me to take some pictures and measurements of the stock hitachi unit and they would get one in the works for me. I did explain the information provided by TonyD, but they said that they currently do not have datsun L series units, but they can make them available. I will keep ya'all posted with the information as i get it from 123ignitionsusa.
  24. Ordering mine as soon as i get paid, thanks TonyD!!!!!!!!!!!! And merry christmas
