  1. Yeah, I was thinking of giving my L28 a last hurrah by slapping my T4 on it, but that plan was dependant on finding a turbo manifold for like $50 or less (anything more than that is just cutting into my V-8 plans...) which hasn't happened yet.
  2. I don't know what makes me giggly-er, the camo vinyl job, or the billion spoke wheels (or are those hubcaps? I cant tell, but I suspect they are wheels because of the little center cap screws...)...
  3. Are you running the ZX wheels on an S30, or an S130? S30 maximum backspacing is 4.5" or so, I've never measured an S130, it may be more, less, or the same...A 15X10" wheel on an S30 would need to be -25 or -26 offset to clear properly. I suspect it may be the same on an S130, but I don't want to say definitively since I don't know for sure.
  4. Seems I added the select button, but otherwise it was correct... http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/nes/code/563399.html
  5. I'm still holding out for an S30 whale tail...almost got one once!
  6. I knew I liked you for some reason, Terry! You need to find yourself some Impul RS-IIIs like mine so we can match when you get back... I'll even paint little trees on them for you...
  7. Only conversation I ever got with my Datsun gear was with an original 240z owning purist at a used record store...clearly I'm frequenting the wrong events...
  8. Tread width will vary with tire line and manufacturer. The 275 just refers to the tire at it's widest point, which is not necessarily the tread. If you've got a tire you want in summit's catalog, try looking for the exact same tire from one of your suppliers, it should be the same. I also work in a parts department at a dealership, and I have been able to find online places that sell name brand tires cheaper than I'm able to get them through my local supplier. Most times you are buying through a middle man anyway, and then you still have to mark it up to sell it to the end customer. I usually have my co-workers that need tires put them on a cash ticket with my vendor, thus selling them at cost so that I don't have to mark them up the 10% over cost employee price. This keeps my retention up at the end of the month and saves the buyer a bit as well. www.edgeracing.com had some pretty cheap tires in the sizes I wanted, but after shipping it came out to about the same. Miami's not that far from me, and my dad lives there, so I've thought about making a weekend of it...
  9. The code I posted is the so called "Konami Code" that was used in almost every Konami game to Debug, giving you more lives/health/etc. That should be the code used in Contra as well...
  10. I've got a fiberglass spook I'd be willing to let go for about that amount...
  11. I think it would be pretty cool to make a bank of 3 position switches that are wired such that they need to be in a certain configuration before the car will start. But you'd still ultimately only have one wire in, and one wire out...I had started to work with my cousin who's going to school for engineering on rigging up an NES controller with some kind of electric lock so that you'd type in a certain button combination ( up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, select, start for instance) to either open the door or start the car. I think there's a market for it, but we never got anywhere. It's probably not even that hard to do, but we never went past the talking about it phase.
  12. No key will start my Datsun, as I've removed the lock cylinder completely and now have a series of switches and a buttion required to start mine...
  13. Oh, I need to make some more of those, I actually just got another one: R30 Skyline race car! It was a prize for being one of the first to post pictures in the Datsun Garage at www.japanesenostalgiccar.com. I may put one together on Monday. That 190 kinda looks like you've got a 3-spoke on it. I thought I was in the minority around here with mine...
  14. I prefer the Legacy wagon at this point, but it doesn't seem to be available with a stick shift for some reason...
  15. They're probably Watanabes, very similar but slightly longer and thinner spokes. The pic looks like it's gone now, so I'm not sure what tires were on it.
  16. Terry, I've said it before, and this just proves my point: You are the king of VIP!
  17. Really? A riveted on louver panel like that? I've seen people actually louver a 240 non-vented hood all over, but I hadn't seen anyone do a seperate panel...It was a solution I came on when I was trying to figure out how I could get both a Carbon Fiber hood AND the louvered hood I always wanted...cut a big rectangle out and then rivet on some aluminum louver panels. I'd be curious to see how it actually looks on a real car...
  18. Briggs & Stratton 5 horse? Honda D15? Chrysler 2.2?
  19. After reading the thread, the bottom line is that it was going to cost like $1500 or so to ship that one fascia from New Zealand...
  20. 190's not that hot, where is your temperature sensor located? I ask because sometimes it will read different temperatures depending on where you mount it. I've got mine mounted in the thermostat housing on my L28, and it normally gets up to about 190 if I let it idle for extended periods of time, but cruising it drops back to 160-170.
  21. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=106345&highlight=zealand This is the thread that I knew I'd read about. I'm not so sure it's the same fascia though, but this one is pretty cool. Here is the link from Page 2 of that thread to the Christchurch, NZ aero parts supplier. Keep reading the thread for pictures to go with the part numbers, since the website for some reason doesn't have pictures to match. http://www.aerotech.co.nz/index.shtml
  22. Forced Perspective, Attack! Kind of a concept of what I want to do with my intercooler if I ever get around to slapping all my turbo stuff on to my L before I get around to getting serious about an SBC. It would be ducted from underneath via the front, and the louver plate should help create some low pressure above the hood and do some extraction.
  23. That Picture is from the New Zealand car auction website (http://www.trademe.co.nz), right? I'm pretty sure there were a few places in that neck of the woods making some neat S130 front ends, but I don't remember the name of the place...
  24. It was these guys: http://store.datsunspirit.com/index.asp but the seat link doesn't seem to work any more...I wonder why?
  25. Somebody in the states is selling repros of these seats, I can't remember for the life of me what the name of the company is...I think I saw it over at classiczcars.com, let me try and dig it up.
