  1. No, that was the secret area 51 thread that we reverse engineered from our digital rulers' crashlanded spaceship:
  2. It's funny, in the early days it seems there was more plot. Old skate videos are like that too. I always liken them, since the first few big time skateboarding videos tried to incorporate plot (most notably the powell and peralta video: The Search for Animal Chin), but modern ones are all business with the possible exception of a few...
  3. I don't know, I kinda liked the old look better...this one sort of makes you look like a sellout. (you asked for it, had to know that was coming!)
  4. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/vintage-datsun-z-car-draw-thru-turbo-setup_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQihZ003QQitemZ130012174778QQrdZ1
  5. Nice car man! Sorry to hear about the personal troubles, hopefully that will all work itself out for the best. I want a whale tail BAD, glad to see I'm not the only one that needs help...
  6. I bet his fingers get all orange every time he puts it in gear...
  7. In retrospect, B_sosick's car would look pretty good with that paintjob...If you don't do it, you have to at least do the pac-man pinstripe with dots all the way down, and pac-man chasing a blue ghost just over the rear wheel...
  8. You guys are just lucky I don't have a Z31...I want to paint one of those like an 8-bit NES console SO bad! Use the red Nintendo font for the nissan turbo badge....Maybe even do a custom tail light panel that looks like the controller: R32 tails on the right, then a one-off configuration to look like the crosshairs on the left...
  9. Then I could put mirrors on the underside of the hood and 24" chrome rims too...I might even paint chester cheetah on the door...that would be so hot...OH! I need the naked lady silhouette mudflaps! Now THAT is bling!
  10. It's starting to sound like you either have a bad Mass Airflow Meter or you have a leak between there and the throttle body...
  11. Most electic pumps will tell you they are for track use only no matter what the application. It seems like a good idea, so long as it won't burn out from continuous use.
  12. So I was in Blockbuster Video over the weekend, and in the new releases I about fell over laughing: Right next to The Pirates of the Carribean I saw the Pirates XXX porn. It was my understanding that Blockbuster didn't carry any actual porn, so imagine my surprise (I actually imagined the surprise of the poor sucker that rented that for their kids on accident) when I saw it right there with 6 facings! Anybody watched this thing? It's kind of a local curiosity, because they filmed it here in St. Petersburg with the actual ship by convincing the city council they were filming a children's movie...This movie is NOT skinimax softcore! If it weren't checked out, I would have given serious thought to renting that and the normal version and pulling the old swicheroo on the discs...
  13. I don't follow, did you GET a different cam, or do you have the stock non-turbo cam in your engine? Or do you have a mystery cam that might be aftermarket?
  14. How about Wendy's, you could get some 24" squares instead of wheels, because they "don't cut corners." Big portrait of Wendy on the hood, Dave Thomas on the right rear quarter, with a dew rag and grill like Kip from the end of Napoleon Dynamite...now THAT's gangsta! *edit* I just went back to the ad, and now I realized that these cars are in MY town, they are in fact the very cars I saw in convoy the other day! I recognized the blue skull graphics on the white car, because I remember thinking it was a shame to have such a good paint job on some rediculous wheels.
  15. Here's a caption: "It's not easy, being cheesy..." (hah, that was too easy...) How about I saw a whole fleet of these things at a stoplight yesterday. at least 6, all in a convoy, people stoping to take pictures...made me wish I had a camera, just so I could post it to this thread.
  16. overboard?! Camo commandos, attack! (where is everybody? I said get him! hello? anyone? dang...looks like I'm the only one on this bus...more of you guys need to do camo, so we can stand up to b_sosick when he tries to bully us around!)
  17. I was wondering the same thing...I'll go on and comment on some threads, and come back later to see that I'm the last poster on like 4 or five of the threads on the home board...start to feel a little lonely. Seems like there are a few regulars that are on a lot, but the threads haven't been too exciting lately. What happened to the 20 page aerodynamic thread? that was pretty cool...I'm glad the twin cam l series popped back up, I was really interested in that too.. How about the home-made table top wind tunnel thread, did that thing ever get finished? Did the Darius240z ever get painted, I tried to bump it a while ago, but ? Is anybody out there doing anything fun that they haven't thought to post pictures of? doesn't need to be a question or problem or anything, just some status updates would be cool.
  18. Kind of like when the Chevy Nova tried to sell in Mexico. Turns out "no va" means doesn't go in espanol...hard to sell a car with a name like that, don't you think?
  19. I have the OHC valve cover on the car right now, this one is just extra. I like the idea of leaving only the N. I've thought about smoothing one out all together and using JB weld or something like it to make my own lettering...Maybe: "Protoculture Matrix" or just putting the turbo back on, but making it in a different font. Projects for "when I've got nothing better to do..." which seems to be most of the time...
  20. Turbo and NA cams are totally different, you need to decide on a performance goal, then figure out the best way to achieve it. (A hot NA came will have lots of valve overlap, but adding a turbo to a cam like that will tend to give poor results. The turbo creates backpressure in the manifold, and if your exhaust and intake valves are open at the same time, the higher exhaust pressure can force it's way in to the cylinder and affect the combustion process adversly.) Once you make a decision, don't deviate from the plan, and you will avoid wasting a lot of time and money on modifications. In order to get all the parts from a turbo ZX, you will end up getting almost everything from the engine anyway, so it might make more sense to just get the whole thing if you can. If you are using carbs now, you'd need: Intake manifold with injectors (also feed and return fuel lines) , turbo manifold with turbo and j-pipe, oil feed and return lines, oil pan with provision for oil drain back tube from the turbo, turbo fuel pump (and might as well get the fuel tank for the fuel injection baffles to avoid pump starvation on hard cornering/acceleration), and assuming the megasquirt, you wouldn't need the MAF, but you would still need to make a harness for the injectors. If you get a complete turbo engine swap, you could either use your old block with the turbo head, or just swap in the whole engine and be done with it. There is some discussion that using an early N42 block is superior to the F54 in terms of cylinder bore strength, but either block would be fine for a normal-ish street engine.
  21. Wow, mother's aluminum polish? You're far more patient than I am...Don't tell JohnC, but I used a wire wheel cup on a drill to clean mine off when I was changing the head...The piston tops too...Man was there a lot of carbon in my engine!
  22. I'm not totally happy with the result, the silver accents really didn't do what I wanted them to do as far as highlighting the shapes...I'm thinking this paint scheme would work better with my standard non-turbo datsun ohc valve cover (and I REALLY with I'd thought of it when the whole engine was out of the car, so I could have done the whole thing like this), so I may pull it off the car and do that one too, but without the silver. Any body care to comment?
  23. That thing rates on the grand scale of camel toe...we could use some talent like that in the chicks album, why not put 'er there?
  24. So is that an MSA type III that you've adapted to a 280zx? Looking pretty good so far, I'm curious about the skyline tails.
  25. I like that 260z a lot! But I thought Florida was the sunshine state...
