  1. WOW. Note to self: trailer new project cars home.
  2. I'm getting a new error that is making browsing HybridZ REALLY frustrating. I'm using Firefox, and whether or not the page loads is completely hit or miss. IF the page loads, it's really slow. This is the only website I've found that does it. I had to use Internet Explorer just to post this since I couldn't get it to load in Firefox. I also got a "Server is too busy, please try again later" message while searching "New Posts" today. Any ideas? This is the error I get.
  3. Hmm. Don't know if these fit in with the thread, but I saw this one a couple years ago, and thought it was pretty impressive. Done by the same person, also pretty cool IMO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9RKcoxzGJ4
  4. The hole in your wheel well, is actually a hole in your frame rail and NO it is not supposed to be there. As for your fender, if I get what you're asking, no there isn't a skin or anything that's supposed to be there. Not sure what's going on there, but it may just be a poorly fixed, mounted, or modified fender. Looks like there's a bit of bondo on there so it's hard to tell. I wouldn't go so far as to say his car is junk. Not that I'm an expert (I'm not), but it's probably junk for a racing application like what you deal with. Mine isn't too much better than that car based on just what I can see, but it's still pretty solid. Much worse condition cars have been fixed.
  5. What do you plan on doing with the 240z once everything is swapped over? Swap on your old parts? Sell as a shell? Scrap it? Just curious.
  6. , naw I didn't. That's what a 240z looks like after you've abused it, driven it in NJ winters (salt), then neglected it, and then improperly repaired the rust. Yep, this is gonna be a challenge. Should be fun.
  7. Nah, those scratches will buff right out, that 350z is fine! And I have no idea what you could possibly be doing with that VQ35. Not a clue.
  8. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous... Congrats!
  9. Nope. I do have a 280 though. If the lime green 280 is a 2+2 with a black hood, 240 bumpers, and polished 5 slot mags, then that car belongs to Metallicar on here. I'm right by Mt. Holly. Nice to see another local Z owner.
  10. Can't really help you, but I'm curious, where in South Jersey are you?
  11. Sorry to hear of your troubles. Great looking car though! The paint turned out really nice.
  12. Just noticed the tail panel - looks good, and I guess we think similarly since I had planned on doing something similar as well.
  13. Heh, I registered the same time as you, and you've got about 2800 posts on me.
  14. One of the better looking convertible conversions IMO, but still ugly. A Z should be a hardtop.
  15. letsplayhookey@yahoo.com That is his email. Good luck.
  16. I don't really have my hopes up but I'm going to try just because I can. Obviously, scrapping it would be the better option financially. Besides, I kind of want a tube car. We'll see. It'll be quite a while before I even start on it.
  17. By the way, there is a thread on this subject already - http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=124874
  18. I didn't even show the bad body work (in detail) - just the rust. Sickening isn't it?
  19. Oh boy, do I have a show for you... Notice the rust in the seam between the wheel well and that inner quarter panel - whatever you call it: Not a Z but still rusty...
  20. I'm at school, so I can't take any additional pics, but this should show how I did it: It was pretty easy. I removed the chair portion of the desk chair, then removed the sliders from the Datsun seat. I got some angle aluminum I had laying around, drilled holes appropriately, and used the bolts and holes originally used to hold the sliders on the seat to mount them. The rest is pretty simple if you look at the picture. The fabric is so that the stuff on the bottom of the seat - whatever it is, looks like dead grass or something? - doesn't fall onto the floor.
