  1. i like the video!! hopefully one day i'll have my rb in and i'll be able to keep up/embarass the competition.. i'm tired of smoking suped up civics and crapy 3rd gen eclipses i want to be able to run with some evos and 350z's
  2. so what the back bumper will not fit with the datsun spirit bracket alone? will i have to shave it?
  3. i am kinda concerned about what is going on here b/c i have this same setup, i found a great deal on ebay for shocks and springs so i picked up a set.. they were new in the box and had the warrenty info with them also.. anyways i haven't had a problem with these shock/springs at all.. yes the illuminas can be pretty harsh on the highest setting and driving on rough roads but otherwise i haven't had any problems i'm just hopeing this isn't something that gets worse with time
  4. did you mean my car? and thanks... it is true zx's get no love... its kinda sad, i think they could have some hidden potential
  5. yeah but as usuall something this awsome wont fit the 280z.... why when they design parts for our cars, wont they design them for 240,260 and 280z bodystyles.. it just makes sense b/c they will make more money
  6. i get the jist of whats going on here but i would have to see everything installed to get a better idea about how this all works
  7. thats cool^^^ working on AWACS must be awsome!! but how would we go about starting up a club? i mean why don't we all just meet and get together or something you know have a bbq or something
  8. i don't know if this thread is still up or not but i was just browsing or whatever.. i'd definately join a club down here, i'm almost positive it would be WAY better then driving all the way up to bayfront every weekend in p-cola to look at hooked up civics
  9. so i'd been waiting on getting a diff mount just for the simple fact that i wasn't sure whether or not i was going to go with a solid mount or a rubber mount and i just want you guys to know that the rubber mount isn't bad at all!! i don't know why i syked myself out but holy crap my car drives better!! its amazing how much better drives and i don't have to worry about feathering the throttle to keep it from clunking POINT BEING, IF YOU HAVE A BAD DIFF MOUNT AND LOUND CLUNKING NOISES COMMING FROM THE BAD OF YOUR CAR, CHANGE IT OUT!! YOUR CAR WILL LOVE YOU BETTER
  10. so did you ever end up putting that rear lip spoiler on your car i've been wondering lately how it would look and i thought about posting a reply to you but never say any cool pictures anyways whats up?
  11. i'm wondering.. did that adaptor plate come with your gauges or did you have to custom order it and they do kinda suck during daylight.. might not look as bad with tint though
  12. i'm just wondering if they are the right size
  13. i would think they would work better being mechanical but i've never installed any gauges so i'm not sure
  14. http://www.prosportgauges.com/index.php i was just surfing the net and i was wondering if anyone has ever tried or seen these defi style gauges installed
  15. you know what it would probably be so much easier to open up an e-bay account and mail the panels out that way.. i know for sure that you would have no problems selling them.. i know i would by one or two
  16. yeah i'm very interested in seeing this thread get bigger b/c i am planning on doing an rb swap later on and i really want heat and a/c i just don't know if anyone has done it or not
  17. wow thanks for the feedback and the pictures!!! i will def be trying to go with something a little softer like the stock rubber mounts or if i can find one a urethane one.... do you guys know where i can find one at?
  18. so i just ordered a new steering rack from msa and i was going to order a solid diff mount BUT the sales guy told me that it would transmit ALOT of harshness back into the car, and that the solid mount was mainly for race cars... now i want to know what personal experiences are with going with a solid mount.. i'm thinking about going with the arizona z car mount or the msa mount some advice would be appreciated
  19. yeah i live in fort walton beach florida and i've been trying to find someone to wrap an old dash for me like that with no luck... i would love to get the original dash recovered and have a nice clean old school look.. and i don't know about you guys but it only took me an hour to get my dash out..yeah it was a little bit harder putting it in myself after i took it out but i think it would be a hell of alot easier then installing the 240sx dash plus it would look finished.. and hopefully getting it refinished is cheaper then buying a new one from msa for 1,600$
  20. why don't you just get the carbon fiber one from shop retro spec and install some strong magnets on the back so you can put it on and take it off if for whatever reason you want the option to do so.. if i were you i would see about getting a small lip spoiler and seeing how that looks first.. i mean the one off of e-bay is only 16$ and it has magnets/tape on it so you don't have to worry about drilling any holes i personally would like to see how an old school z would look with a small lip spoiler on it. i think it would look kinda cool
  21. thats cool man... you might be able to find an early z around here somewhere.. i'm starting to see alot of second generation s130 z's running around but i seem to be the only guy driving an s30 daily hopefully when you get here you'll be able to find a good project car
  22. yeah man i'm actually stationed at hurlburt field and i drive a 280z... matter of fact there is a shop down here that caters to old z's and zx's but i don't think he has any old first gen z's that he wants to sell...
  23. to answer a question that someone had ealier... yea they do make a rwd application for the ecotec motor and its currently in the saturn sky/pontiac solstice.. supposedly gm used the gmc/chevy colorado, canyon transmission to save money so it might be worth it to make the swap.. the stock solstice turbo makes 260hp so i'm sure that it would be worth a look for someone trying to hook up a nice 4 cylinder power plant..
  24. i like the idea of rhinolining the dash but i was wondering how smart would it be to prep an old cracked dash like he did but instead of covering it with rhinoliner cover it with leather or aclantra? i've seen it b4 and i know it would definately look pretty tight!! just wondering though.. would there be problems with it cracking through?
  25. i think i just answered my own question i think those might be the more expensive of the two
