  1. I believe can use a mustang short shifter if you use the t5 from an 83zxt. I have a zx tranny and my shifter is bent in a S shape and towards the drivers side.
  2. How bout BMWs 7 series with valvetronic technology. This is some pretty amazing stuff. Getting close to directly actuated valves
  3. Get an iPod. It's the best one out there.
  4. A dry setup will work if you are shooting for 50hp and it is pretty simple to install. Just don't get greedy and jet it too high.
  5. I'm running a 3.54 with a ZX 5-speed. Much better for my daily driver than the 4.11 I had in there. I can build more boost between gears and better on the freeway.
  6. I have a Zoom issue with that car in it. Here are some of the specs it gives. Engine: Audi 5-cylider 2.3l de-stroked to 2.1l (revs to 10,000rpm) 8.8:1 compression ratio KKK IMSA titanium turbo (K27 billet compressor wheel and turbine from an Audi R8R Le Mans unit) says it can boost up to 48psi 52mm wastegate from a pikes peak S1 car twin air-to-air intercoolers 4.5" stainless steel exhaust 10 bosch 800cc/min injectors Audi engine managemant Driveline: Magnesium IMSA-type six speed gearbox (features traction control) titanium flywheel carbo fibre clutch 70% front LSD, 68/32 rear/front center diff, 84% rear LSD IMSA driveshafts Pikes Peak S1 CVs (front) Audi Le Mans (rear)
  7. I saw a STi with a female driver at a gas station on the way back from the MSA show. I would definatley consider one if I was in the market for a new car. The hood scoop looked pretty big though.
  8. I'll do what I can to help but this sounds like it's going to be a very involved project and I don't have a whole lot of free time. Give me more info on the LA show. What type of show is it and is it open to the public?
  9. I know it's a little off topic but I have that zoom issue with the audi AWD golf. That car is insane.
  10. watch the wistle tip news video first. http://bubbrubb.howheels.org/ WoooWoooo
  11. That looks awesome I like the flex section after the collector. I have a question about the box with the line from the valve cover and the breather filter on top. I see that on a lot of high performance cars. Can someone enlighten me on what the purpose of the box is.
  12. I'm running a ACT street disc on my turbo 240 and it's holding up fine. It's rated at 400 lb ft of torque so I think it's sufficient for a L28et. Look into Exedy clutches also. My ACT clutch disc is actually an exedy unit and they are a little bit cheaper.
  13. I'll take a picture of my relay when I get a chance. I'm not sure which wires are spliced to what cause they are all wraped in electrical tape the whole length of the wires but I can show you which ones are cut. Is this the info you need?
  14. Wassup ice. I would start by reading through the turbo forum archieves. Plenty of info there. Start from 20 or 30 pages back and work your way forward. whoooooosh
  15. Tim I'll let you know about the gauges after we pull everything out. Probably will be at least 2 or 3 weeks. Mudge Thanks for the offer but I have a manual already.
  16. I would have loved to have gone to the Rio Vista meet today but we went to pick up a 83 280zx turbo instead. The car runs like crap but it runs and we got it dirt cheap We will be parting out everthing but the engine and t-5 tranny and probably get more than our money back. Just wanted to make you guys a little bit jealous since I couldn't make it to the show
  17. I knew it was the fuel pump cause I couldn't hear it turn on when I turned the ignition on. I cleaned the connectors and noticed the ground wire coming out of the harness from the fuel pump was was loose where it was attached to the frame. So I tightened it and kind of wiggled it back and forth so it would get good contact. I'm probably gonna change my coil anyways and rewire the fuel pump with a thicker gauge wire. I'm gonna try and make it to Rio Vista around 1:00. I'm going to check out a car with one of my buddies in the morning.
  18. Finally got to work on the car today and I found the problem. I took the distributer cap off hoping it was something simple and sure enough it was the rotor. The screw holding the rotor came off so the rotor wasn't spinning. There was also a problem with the fuel pump that I traced back to a bad ground. Seems to be running fine now but I havn't ran it hard yet.
  19. Checked the coil and I'm getting spark. It may be a fuel delivery problem but I doubt its the filter cause this happened all of a sudden. I'm thinking it's some kind of electrical gremlin. Is there any way to test if the ECU is bad?
  20. I was driving to the store last night and all of a sudden I get a really big backfire. I pulled over to check things out and it would idle fine but if I would give it any gas it would just stumble and backfire alot. If I turned the engine off, it would started up again fine but eventually it would not start anymore. I didn't have a flashlight so I didn't get to check everything out. I'm going to check if I'm getting any spark today. I don't think it's the fuel pump cause I can hear it turn on. What else should I check for? Could it be an AFM problem or TPS? Is it possible for the timing to get thown off all of a sudden?
  21. Last week I swapped my 4.11 diff to a 3.54. Before the swap my boost gauge was reading about 9psi max. My gauge only goes up to 15 psi and now I can peg it all the way to 15 psi. It is probably higher than that but I can't tell. I know my gauge probably isn't that accurate but can it be off by up to 5psi? Maybe a wastegate problem? Does anyone know what type of boost level I should be seeing with a stock L28et, stock turbo, mkIII supra intercooler, stock fuel and ecu, 2.5" exhaust.
  22. scottyMiz - Did you run the 370cc injectors with the stock fuel pump and ECU and did you have to adjust the air flow meter at all?
  23. Definately Maximum Boost. I wouldn't start the turbo project without reading this first. Another great resource is reading through the old posts on this board. Lots of good info here.
