  1. Same water issue for my z, but only when downpouring [which is very rare I'm caught in that].
  2. Stolen for the price. I too have never seen that kit, it may have a stamp or marking on the back side of 1 or more of the panels.
  3. I believe i used a 1/4" npt pipe thread purchased from my local hardware store.
  4. Cooll link Mike-here are my results. · Weight [1/2 tank gas] 2769 · Total wt 2944; front:1451, rear:1493 [including 175# driver] · Corner wt w/175# driver; 754 LF, 747 LR, 703 RF, 740 RR · f/r weight distribution 49.49 / 50.509 · cross weights 50.7% lf / rr, 49.3 rf / lr With a cross weight of >48.5%, you have what is considered to be a TIGHT race car. Just added power windows so it may have gained a bit of weight, perhaps once the long tubes are completed and installed it'll offset that gain or I may have to install a little cam...
  5. Mike, my z is within 50 lbs of yours [i'm 180 lbs]. Ls1, t56, alum rad, 6 pt autopower cage, stock fuel tank with atl black box, factory glass all around, corbeau seats, sound deadening [factory] there, q45 diff, 17" wheels and disc brakes. f-r distribution is 49-51 and cross weights are within a percent of each other. So, what are you and I doing wrong with our z's?! They seem to be about 200-300 lbs heavier than the others here.
  6. Ran mine the same as RebekahsZ through the [previously enlarged] stock hole. Someday when the car is repainted I'll do it a bit tidier [looks like a hack did the work]. I did that about 15 years ago with a hacksaw, hammer and chisel - what was I thinking?!
  7. Update: received a txt yesterday and the prototypes were sent to the bender a day ago to build the production jig! After the first pair are 'produced' from the jig they'll be sent to the shop for test fit on sunnyz's car. Once the builder gives the ok to the manufacturer who is handling the production run we'll be ready to go. At that time we'll post all the contact info and such so we can all make our payments and provide specifics on our personal build details; v-bands, primary size, O2 sensors or whatever. No, I don't have an idea of how long...
  8. I'll ask the admins to add you today, while that happens please read the entire thread. Payment instructions are on page 1. I'm waiting a call back from the builder on production times and when he feels they can begin, as always I will keep you all posted via this thread. Thanks
  9. Finally arrived home this morning [about 5:30am]. Due to originally arrive home Sunday evening, Irene had a different plan. Drove across Ireland from Shannon airport to Dublin, stay there overnight [thank you Delta airlines-great hotel and 3 meals on them!], fly Tues am from Dublin to Chicago then to Atlanta, stay overnight [on our dime] then to Buffalo-wait, we live in Rochester!? So, I cook up plan b. We arrive at O'Hare and I attempt to get us direct or indirectly to Rochester-no luck, so plan b is enacted-rent a car and drive straight thru!
  10. Weather here in Ireland is sunny and clear today but...jfk has been closed since noon Saturday and had caused our flight home to be cancelled. We're hoping to get out of here on Monday but will see how it plays out.
  11. we're due to fly home from ireland [shannon airport to jfk then to rochester] on sunday, we'll see what happens...
  12. Mike, you are welcome to join the group buy for our ss long tube build, here's the link. Getting close to the order time, once that begins we'll close the group buy and initial pricing. Thereafter the builder will still offer them, at a single pair cost. All the details are in the thread. For my z, which weighs about 2900 with me in it [i'm 175] and a full tank of gas. I can run just under 2:20's at the Glen on my old toyo t1-s street tires. My ls1 is nearly stock and puts down 330 hp and 360 tq to the wheels.
  13. Ss tubing/bends arrived a bit ago along with flanges. Right looks nearly complete and left was but builder wanted to make 2 changes. I hope to post pics of the ss prototypes next week [lets keep our fingers crossed]. Once complete and test fitted we'll be a go for build orders! Way behind schedule but I am hoping they are worth the wait for us all. I'm in Ireland on family vacation until the 28th and have spotty access to the internet [and/or a pc] so if I don't post or reply please understand. Currently in the Galway area and having a wonderful time!
  14. I'm heading on vacation tomorrow and won't return until the end of the month-if you're still in need of pics I can help then. David
  15. I redrilled my 73 brackets [like you show] where they mount to the lower frame, pulling the bumper back a few inches. Also eliminated the filler panel on the bumper. It doesn't sit quite as close as a 72 or older but seems ok. you'll need to drill new holes where the bumper ends bolt above the turn signals but that part is easy. You may try to fab an adapter bracket to use your existing 73 bumper with the new ebay brackets. The mounting studs differ from the 70-72 vs. 73. Hope this helps.
  16. Alan, do you know what [appears to be] the small access panel behind the left rear wheel is for?
  17. Mike, I'm assuming you're running the "tour de marque" event? here I am considering that, need to speak to the boss and see if she wants to go or perhaps my son will co-drive.
  18. What year is your z? I have 2 different style bell cranks. I believe I have the rod also but would need to measure what is on the 71 in the garage to ensure the correct length. pm or email me
  19. I was there aug 1-2 and return sept 23-25 with the bmw club. When are you running?
  20. Mike, my condolences to you and your family on the loss of your father... It appears we are running nearly the same rear end setup, mm adaptors-axles to q45 diff. You have any issues with the axles, my end stops had gotten pretty 'hammered', so I had them 'smoothed' on a manual mill. Will take them out for inspection this winter.
  21. Plans are now set-we head out 8/10 and return 8/28. Fly into dublin, stay a few days then head south and eventually circle around to galway and return home. My wife has been like a crazy woman on the internet booking b&b's, cottages and checking out cool stuff for us to see & do while we're there. Looks to be a wonderful trip and hope to see at least one z while there!
  22. Had a brief sigh of relief yesterday-email from our builder that the tubing supplier finally returned his call, now has the bends in stock and shipping them. This means he'll shortly have the materials to build the prototypes from ss. Yea!
  23. I have a new in box type 1 ducted fiberglass air dam [i acually have the entire kit-side skirts, rear skirt and air dam] and am willing to ship it. Was removed from the box only to ensure it was not damaged. Had it awhile but not going to use, pm me if you're interested. I'd prefer to sell the entire kit and will make you a nice deal on it.
