  1. i have, along with sunnyz, provided feedback from this thread, supplied pics of my z, spoken with and emailed the builder to express our desires and ensure they are build to the original design goals and will continue to do so until the production run is complete.
  2. i have had 3. the oe drum brake setup-which [in my opinion] is sufficient for most z's which don't see extended track time. if your doing significant track events [not drags] and are using your brakes beyond upgraded shoes for the drums then you may consider an upgrade. if you're looking for bling then the silvermine or mml kits are not it-suggest you look at daves stuff at arizona z. my first upgrade was the 240sx rear caliper kit that modern motorsport offers. i think if i didn't run my z so hard at the track it would have worked ok. but i do. found that i could not get sufficiently balanced front to rear [not enough rears] evening with no prop valve and more aggresive pads in the rear than front, so i sold it and moved on. so, now i have the silvermine rear kit. like the mml 240sx they use off the shelf consumables [pads, calipers & rotors] you can source nearly anywhere-great when you want to go to the corner parts store [or at the track and run out of ...]. the sm kit uses a ford mustang rotor [redrilled for 4 lugs in my fitment] and caliper. i can easily adjust bias and my ebrake works [can't get this with the others]. i can also attest to the fact that edan [sm owner] provides top notch customer service and he is EASY to reach, even on weekends! nuff said i've reconfigured my sm kit [with nigel's help-thanks!] so now i used an aftermarket ebrake cable as well as switched sides with the calipers for easy bleeding. now i love it. the ebrake now holds, even on steep hills! most importantly, and as john c so poetically illustrates for us-there is NO best for any application here on hbz...
  3. boy from oz, not out of place at all. in fact, i for one very much appreciate your input-especially when you consider your perspective-you are one who has "been there and done that" with the headers. couple of notes; these are prototypes-not finished product. i've already [last night at 11pm] emailed the builder with the concerns above; equal length [or as close as possible], proximity of header to brake lines & steering coupler [will be better with the ss as their radius is tighter] and ground clearance. he explained that he also designed the header with the ability to pull the trans w/o removing the headers. i suggested that i felt we would trade that for more ground clearance & space between the header & brake lines/steer coupler. i'm assuming most of us are running the stock lsx oil pan-which i know is the lowest point on the front end of my z. so, this is the first stab at the left [driver side] header. we're learning and providing feedback for the builder so our headers will meet our goals; long tubes, [close to] equal length, spark plug & mounting bolt clearance, ability to install/remove headers w/o removing the engine, more power and ground clearance. please, if you have suggestions/comments keep them factual with the premise of helping to improve the design for us all.
  4. tomorrow i'm supposed to pick one up that is the model you're looking for but in fiberglass instead of urethane. it is brand new. shoot me a pm if you're interested-if it is new as the seller says i will sell it and be willing to ship to you [it comes with a large parts lot i'm purchasing]. shoot me a pm if you're interested.

  8. spoke with them wednesday. they planned [on paper] the routing, etc of the tubing. ordered the mandrel bends in mild steel [saves me a few $, as i'm covering the proto cost] which should arrive early this coming week. then build protos and check fitment and our other points of concern; spark plug access, installation, ground clearance, etc. i am as anxious as much as anyone...
  9. josey, i took the stock bolts to jimmy and he machined the lip on the stock bolts and bore the hole a bit deeper as well as shortened the bolts sufficiently and now i have proper clearance. the pics are in my gallery.
  10. visited osan afb many times on our way to seoul for whatever adventures awaited us. loved the mexican restaurant on base they had there.
  11. where in korea? as a thought, if it were my z i'd consider a cool shift knob [there are many out there to choose from] then put an 'h' decal on top. you may know but i have the emblem decals i've made and could have my vinyl guy make an 'h' decal [or a few] if you'd like. quick, easy and inexpensive. peel it after the inspection...fwiw
