  1. anyone want the roof-it's in good shape and i have a cut-off wheel ready to cut it off?! pedal box-pulled but available!
  2. i absolutely love it. the suede is great as it's very low reflection. how about some pics of the interior pleeeeeese?!
  3. ahhh, once again back among the living-z's that is!
  4. thanks junior for posting the wgi pics. the parts car is going to the crusher tuesday so if u want the doors, better get here quick!
  5. here are a couple of before and after pics...72 240z, no floors, right front frame rail nearly gone, left one on it's way out, stripped all i could think of and then some. also cut away; rad core support, tail section, fuel door section, battery box. pictures speaking louder than words!
  6. isn't much left...ready for the flatbed to take this z to the crusher!
  7. shows what it looked like when i got it home. newest parts z.
  8. like the stripe. my 2 cents, paint the tail panel black, keep the air dam-paint it white. don't forget [if it's urethane] to fab a center reinforcement bracket. go from the lower rad support [below where the center of the grill attaches] to the center bottom of the air dam.
  9. hey guys, here's a bit of video from the glen. this is from tuesday 8.21-it rained all day. the first clip is my friend todd's 90 z31tt, second is mine [his camera]. more video to come so stay tuned!
  10. jackhammer, gorgeous interior. more pics please-and i'd also like to know about the seats...
  11. passed 5000 miles since the swap without much fanfare this past tuesday. i was on my way home from a 2 day track event at watkins glen international [wgi]. cruising along the west lake road of geneva lake when the odo rolled past the 5000 mark. i smiled thinking of how much i enjoyed the challenge, all the hours spent researching [not possible without much help & info here!] and the "while i'm at it's" as well. had a great time at wgi, over 5 hours of track time monday-tuesday. nothing broken, car ran great and proved to be a great combination of handling, braking, power and FUN! my little z runs very well with the big dogs and holds her own. mounted the camera and captured both front & rear looking video for both days [tuesday we had rain all day]. hope to have it edited and posted in the coming weeks. now got to get the car prepped for the convention and the loooooong drive down to daytona!
  12. i have a 72 parts car which i've nearly stripped of all the unboltable parts but don't want to trash any valuable steel work when it goes to the crusher. no floors but the upper panels [roof, quarters, etc] are in pretty decent shape. also the tail section seems not too bad. doors are nice as well if anyone is interested... so, my question is what do i save [if anything] and if so, what is the best way to separate them from the body? sawzall, cutoff wheel, or?
  13. dave, how about [like jon suggested] getting a 'spare' hatch and drilling it. that way you can go to the track, mount the other hatch prior and go do your thing. pretty quick to swap them...
  14. jeff, 2 more questions. what eng/trans setup you running [i'm assuming you're fuel injected]? checked the atl site but can't find pricing. what do they get for the 'black box'? thanks, david
  15. great info monzter, thanks. any pics of the tank during the 'surgery'?
  16. just placed a call to the seller [hoping to hear back soon] to see what he thinks it'll bring. the car is only about 30 min from my house, got to see, feel, touch, smell and sit in it before. pretty much everything but drive it! the seller has a number of great other z's and datsuns, including vin 006!

    shopped

did this one awhile back when i still had photoshop
  20. i took this one back in the late 80's. camera on a tripod experimenting with some time exposure...
  21. save your time & money. i simply took a 280z plastic glovebox and adapted it to my 240z. took about 1 hour and cost only my time. it fits and looks great [imho]. the 280z gloveboxes are cheap too...don't remember exactly what mods i did but the pics below should help
  22. it has [somewhat of] a honda s2000 look to the nose-area below the headlights. i think it appears too bulky. not for my taste, but i do admire and appreciate the time and commitment that went into the project.
  23. yet another successful exercise in self-control. kudo's to you and the team jon, don't think i would have been that much of a gentleman:fmad: but certainly would have tried. u r right, the uniforms look great! it was pretty cool to say to my son [11] and daughter [9], come here and see this guy racing a z that is from hybrid! they enjoyed it as well and commented on how 'whiny' SHE was... can't wait to see the show this sunday!!
