def not the same, need lines from a 78. i should have been more specific-need lines from a 2/77 or later build date-sorry. looks like this will include most 77's and all 78's.

hey all, i've been working with classic tube [classictube.com] to provide "masters" for them-as they wanted to have complete hard lines [brake-including the funky ones in and around the prop valve & safety valve], fuel & clutch]from 70-78 for the s30's. we're also looking to get their catalog listings updated-coming soon. it looks like the only ones we're missing at this time are the rear lines from a 78 280z. to be specific, i'm looking for the lines coming from the splitter to each flex line, the flex line and the bridge line [flex to wheel cylinder]. pm me if you're willing to give your lines up and in exchange you'll receive ss lines for donating your factory lines. ss-t304, mandrel bent, factory flares and fittings each end. you won't get the flex lines though, unless purchase-the only downside. only need 1 set so first one gets them... david

cameron, now i know why you haven't been working on the q45 front diff mounts. u been a buzy boy! tons of progress, got the headers yet?

i'm assuming you're in the prop transition there? i was at corpus to do mine after pensacola. flew the beech king air's there at cc. i lived just down the street from cabiness field-used to go there to do some of my [secret] speed testing. used to tell the gate guard i needed to check the runways-when they were closed of course! this was back in '90.

roostmonkey-i can't tell from your sig, where are you located? you seem [at this point] the most likely hybrid'r to mfgr the q45 front mount. perhaps someone has drawings for this mount-ron tyler style. i know there are a number of us [who, like myself, don't have the fab/weld skills or tools] waiting for someone to step in, make and sell the q45 front mounts.

roostmonkey, let me see if i understand what this will fit. s30 z cars, q45 diff swap?! if so, sign me up-been waiting [patiently] for someone to fab a front mount for the q45 swap. in fact-put me down for 3 [me, evilz and flames]-all shipped to my address! let me know...

self employed-financial advisor/planner in rochester, ny. franchise my business through ameriprise financial services, inc. licensed in most states along the east coast-seems like i add another each year as clients retire and move south. i think s. carolina is next on my list. finished my CFP designation [certified financial planner] 4 years ago. been in business about 11 years now, nice being self employed-gives me time to play/work with my z! was in the usmc prior-kc130 driver.

they made the same mistake with his car as they did with mine. i gave them [jci] the following info as per their request; build month/yr, vin, eng/trans going in. they sent me a 280z trans crossmember-won't work with 240z's due to the 'thinner' frame rails. the 280 cm's bolt to the inner portion of the frame rails, 240's bolt to the floor as the framerails are too thin to bolt to. when i called them to get the correct cm [fall 05] they said i should have been more specific about the model z i had. still can't figure out to this day how i could have done that [vin & build date], told me i had to send it back at my cost and they'd then send the correct one. meanwhile, i waited about 4 weeks to get the correct cm. funny, it was their mistake, yet i wound up paying for it. they would not send the correct part until i sent the other back. when evil ordered his, i told him-make sure you tell them you have a 240z and make it clear on the order form. he did, now they've made the same mistake-all over again. same story, pay to send it back. buyer beware-if you order from jci-and have a 240z-tell them specifically to send you the cm that bolts to the floor and not the frame rails!

rick, one of my partners is a snowmobiler and was sledding at tug hill wed-sat last week. he said it was great, trails are not groomed as of yet but lots of snow. should be another 4-6 feet since he was there with all the lake effect snowfall the oswego area has received the past few days!

that's fine with me, however-think about this. the spare 260z eng/tranny is in front of your z, grass/basketball pole to the right and the snow you dumped on the left. your option now, roll it down the driveway, park it there while we roll the 260z down then try to push it back to your spot and then try to push your z uphill into the garage. or...you could simply push the snow onto the grass-right of the car...up to u! i know, i'll take pics for the enjoyment of others on hybrid!

current outside temp hovering around 0 f. wind chill drops it below zero, colder than a witches tit in a brass bra! yes, i grew up here in upstate, ny and still remember winter of [i think] 67. dad had to crawl out of the window to get outside-drifts and snowfall prevented us opening the door! my little bro and i dug tunnels in the snow while dad tackled the job of digging out the house, driveway, cars, etc. i don't think the temp in my uninsulated, unheated garage is much better and i'm NOT looking forward to doing any work till it warms up a bit! our plan this weekend is to move the 74 260 out of the garage to the spot where the evil z is now. evilz then gets to come in the garage. hope-evil tires aren't frozen to the driveway, tires too flat spotted to roll, car cover isn't frozen to car and we're able to remove it. need to get the snow off first. think i'll watch [from the house window] while clive tackles that part. the 260 is still for sale if anyone is interested. had it on ebay 2x but hasn't quite reached the price point we're looking for...

thought i'd post a pic of evilc's z. currently buried [now an additional 4" dropped 2 days ago], sitting in my driveway awaiting much anticipated surgery. current temp 0 degrees [wind chill brings us down to about 10 below-farenheit].

really like the 1 piece looking front end...metal, fiberglass or? any pics while i progress u can post? also curious on the headlights with integrated marker lights, are they also turn signals? great color!

cameron, how the mounts coming along? we're in the thick of winter now but i'm jonezing to get my z back on the road-once they're clear again that is. david

back in 84 when i purchased my z [yes, still have it] it was bone stock. i quickly removed the flattop carbs, manifold and exhaust and bolted on weber downdrafts, header and ansa pipes. sounded tuff but really wasn't much better than stock. i wanted a ny vanity plate, and the only one i found that wasn't taken was; 1 tuff z. had that plate since 85...so i figured that if someone sees my z and the plate they'd put it together with my screen name-here and pretty much everywhere else.

to keep the price within the reasonable range, he only 'engraves' on flat surfaces. prices are $50 for a billet alum knob; choice of threading-t56, stock z thread, t5, etc., with choice of 'z' logo on top-early 240 style 'z' through the 350 style 'z'. one off custom logo is $75, jimmy can provide an email 'proof' of the custom logo [like he did for evil z] prior to completion. he did a custom commercial grade polished titanium knob [you don't want to know what that cost me!] with old 240 'z' logo for my car, with a t56 thread tap-took 8 weeks just to get the titanium [slow due to ramped up defense contractors needs for iraq-what we were told]. if you're interested your own custom z knob, please contact jimmy directly-via email at; jz90na@yahoo.com

this is my Z, ZX, 510 and Skyline collection. 40 cars all together, the best part-easy to maintain, insure, store and race! some with headlights, some common and some rare. They are [as most of you will recognize] HO scale and a combination of AFX, Tomy, Tyco and Rokar body/chassis combos. I also have a pretty decent array of Matchbox, Hot Wheel and other 1:64 scale diecast cars. I like the small ones as they are very easy to store and my wife doesn't seem to mine them around-unfortunately she's not as receptive to having that many Z's in the driveway...

nice dave! now on to reality, leave the old life behind and begin the new...

bj or mike, i have an spare rear spoiler [same as on my car-except fiberglass]. mounts with 2 bolts from the underside of the hatch. i'd be happy to take care of $ round trip if u would like it for the testing. check my gallery if you're unsure of which spoiler. it's brand new and still hasn't been trimmed after coming out of the 'mold'. david
