  1. I've confirmed what's legit and what should go on the startup items. Hmm, since I've disabled, will they show in the run? Also only see >Software> not the variables >software> or >SOFTWARE> Only shows 3 or the 14 active startup items the System Configuration Utility. Hijack this gave me quite a log I need to look over.
  2. I know we have a few gurus here. How does one delete, not just disable a startup item in sytem config? My wifes laptop was severly infected about 9 months ago. Everything has been running fine, scans all come back clean, but still see the items in the startup list.

I know I knock the Saab, but have to say for the Saab and Volvo, great cold weather cars.

  6. 12.2/ 115.5 at a 7800 foot Density Altitude. Absolute baro 24.01. You have to compare apples with apples, We all race on the hill up here, and envy even the lower tracks 'Bad" days. Our DAs get up to 10,000'+Most stock Z06s run in the low 13s, a few in the high 12s. The '07 should be one to look out for, though I think I'll still have it for lunch. he latest record for new DR stock Vette was 10.85 at a minus 850 feet DA (sheesh) converts to a low 12 on a "good" 7000' day at Bandimere
  7. I have a relatively mild build and haven't seen any Vipers of Vettes that pose a threat, highway roll ons, stoplight wars. At the drags, Local Z06 took a big shot of NX to beat me, and I was still at his rear tire at the end of the 1/4. Its unreal how bad you can beat up so many factory performance cars, Vipers, Vettes, GTOs, Mustangs. Sure they have more technology, refinement, safety. Its just so damn satisfying to blow one of the high dollar cars into the weeds. Pick your battles, check the width of your wallet, then build one accordingly. Of course they're out there, but uncommon to see a faster cars being daily driven.

  9. Nuts? Heck no! The more like home the better. even a place for the kids to doodle. Hot Dawg Modine heater and four windows looking out the back yard. Bifold and trifold doors close it off from regular garage. Doubles as excercise room. My dedicated Z area isn't huge, but over 850 sq ft garage total. Beer fridge in the back, BBQ is just around the corner!
  10. The carburEtor, with an E, is alive and well especially in numerous racing series. It takes a lot of tuning skill to be within a hundreth of a second of your competition, throughout changing conditions, all day long. Screwdriver? You have no idea what you are talking about. It takes way more expertise to intitially tune a carb than efi. and 99.9% have no idea how to do it. You can't just punch in a new value in the window and click a button. It takes a lot of dyno time and knowledge as to which emulsion hole, bleed, booster needs to be changed and by how much, what the effect will be on the other circuits. Pro set up will provide a fuel curve equal or better than efi. There's way more than just changing jets or adjusting a mixture screw. For most it will go from box to manifold, and for the price, a benefit you mention, typically works amazingly well. Yes efi is superior for adapting to a wide variety of conditions.
  11. Don't buy into the magazine article, Chevy hipo, or whatever it was. They made a carb work, but far from getting the full benefits from the fuel, especially on peak hp numbers. You can't just swap to alcohol metering blocks (methanol) and expect it to work...not well anyway. AFR for e85 is not within the range of adjustment from methanol or gas hardware. Talk to these guys: http://aedperformance.com/ They are fast to respond to inquiries. They, and other carb guys are working on a specific e85 carbs.
  12. 1.72 60' at LACR in palmdale.. 11.44 @ 119.7 on motor 215/60/14 BFG drag radials.. Great times, 60' on 215s!
  13. Drop the header on that side?? Depending on your finances, mini starters are nice for clearance. Good luck!
  14. That's too bad. I dropped a carburetor stud down an intake.. when it was running... beat up my valves and a piston. My wife has a nasal fiber endoscope, mini video camera at her disposal. I've tried, unseccessfully, to talk her into letting me borrow it for situations like this. What's wrong with the smell of 90wt oil? Hang in there!

  17. More like from a bunch of whacked-out crack smoking idiots. I have never worked on a more poorly designed bunch of chaotic weirdness in my life. Finesse, simplicity, and efficiency must be the antithesis of Saab engineering. Avoid Saab 900 Turbos like the plague! There...I feel better.
  18. 4 speed M22 Judge, kind of a goldish color? I've met a few of the GTO guys at the Ft Collins Sonic meets in Loveland, Bandimere track days. They're a dedicated group of enthusiasts. BTW Congrats on having a new boss!
  19. The GTOs are underated IMO. Great cars. Does he run it at Bandimere? There's a huge club following with the GTOs around here.
  20. Since the 300ZXT shafts are a desirable swap into early Zs, How do the length of the 300ZXT shafts compare? I assume they are the same length as non turbo shafts, but greater range of compression?
  21. Are six bolt CVs, lets say from 86 non-turbo 300ZX, same as older 280 ZXT six bolt CVs? Probably answered in a post somewhere. Been digging for days and can't find answer.
  22. Finally found a bunch of Datsun Zs, many with R200s, and the guy wants $200 for each rear! I think some guys just fall in love with their wrecks and don't really want to part with any of them. Good news later found another u-pull-it. 3.7:1 200 out of an 86 300ZX with Automatic. Price less than 1/2 complete. Looks in great condition.
  23. So you got the cam, heads, now quit playing with the street carb and get a decent 750 mechanical secondary. You'll have an animal!
