  1. I used 20 gauge. In some places for small patches, I used 22 gauge (where hand bending/shaping was necessary and strength was not much of a concern). I used 18 gauge for the floors. Tim
  2. WOW...The answer from the venerable SuperDan himself!!
  3. Hmmmm...I used 18 gauge. Plenty thick....and much thicker than OEM. Tim
  4. Both. If you must choose only one, get the V8 Conversion manual. Tim
  5. If you relocate the battery to the back and use the Camaro plastic/aluminum radiator, I think that the weight will be very close to stock and better, because the weight is further back (setback of the engine and the V-configuration is shorter). Tim
  6. UH....name, address and phone number please! Oh...and measurements!! Man!! You must really look forward to going to work everyday!! Tim
  7. Denny, I made a sticky to help out a bit: http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=28208&highlight=
  8. I think it is a graphic representation of an index of total posts to the board. Tim
  9. Welcome. It's a fairly easy conversion. There is a kit that you can use. Look here: http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Datsun_Z_V-8.html Get the manual and the kit from that site. Also read this (if you haven't yet): http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=24170 Use the search function (either from the 'search button' on the top of the forum page, or from the home page-if you want to search all forums). If after searching you have specific questions, fire away. Tim
  10. Easiest way to check the distributor placement, is just to swap out the plug wies on the cap by 180*. Tim
  11. Here it is. December 20th, 2003. $165: http://www.ugofast.com/Events/?EventID=7334 Tim
  12. As said above, you can't tune your fuel/air ratio with plugs. Tune the carby first Tim
  13. G-Tech!! It gives lateral and accleration G forces. 0-60 times, and 60-0 distance. Tim
  14. Holy Cow!! You made short work of that thing, huh!! SawZall worked overtime BTW, that's a pretty trailer!! Tim
  15. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought it was pronounced "Lahn-Cha"?....Not trying to nitpick, though. That would be a great hybrid. The older Lancias were never very healthy on HP! A supercharged V6 from a GM car would be nice. Tim
  16. Is this after the turbo swap? (the car I mean ) Tim
  17. Well...I definitely wouldn't "silicone" it in place. Gasoline eats up silicone. Maybe Hylomar or something similar. Usually, when the engine is warm the fuel atomises fine without any modifications. It's only in colder areas that there may be some benefit. Tim
  18. Also, the more accurate the weight number, the better, so when the time comes, get a good scale number for your ride. Tim
  19. Might be good to pull the oil feed line every once in a while and soak all the crud out of it.....just to ensure a good oil supply. The best oil in the world is no good if it doesn't make it to the turbo Tim
  20. Bryan, I just got a GTech Pro for my Birthday But......I want to pop her cherry on my Z, so if you don't mind waiting a month or so...... Tim
  21. Looks great!! I know what you mean about all the bodywork!!! You need to give the paint time to breathe. If you smell the paintwork after to colorsand/buff, you can probably smell the thinner. I too am itching to wax my paint, but cannot until January!! Great job....nice smooth rear!! Tim
  22. Jeff, I have always said that a SBC is a great solution for L6 tuning blues Good luck... Tim
  23. Try contacting one of our members here: Zcarsmakemyheadhurt micturbo@hotmail.com He has a performance shop in Florida and he should be able to give you some good advice. Tim
  24. Pyro, You have a valid point, however, everyone (esp. newbies) should read, understand, and take to heart this: http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=24170 Then, once they have searched and read the old posts, then ask specific questions. Certain basic aspect of these swaps just aren't going to change: For instance: JTR works with LT1 and not with LS1 etc. I was very cordual and diplomatic in my first resoponse (go back and read again, if necessary), but the advise was obviously not taken as can be seen by subsequent posts by the topic owner. That's when 'we' get a bit grumpy. This is an old issue and will likely never be completely resolved, so I think too much more debate on it is pretty much moot. It just seems a shame, that with so much valuable info in the archives, folks still want to take the easy route and ask to be spoon fed the info...... 'nuff said? Tim
  25. That commercial, and many others are on the CD rom Factory Service Manual that's available from Courtesy Nissan. Tim
