  1. I think that your screen name is an unfortunate choice for a U.S. based internet forum
  2. Some of Murphy's laws and Corallaries: This one probably says it all: The probability of anything happening is in inverse ratio to its desirability. Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. You will always find something in the last place you look. No matter how long or how hard you shop for an item, after you've bought it, it will be on sale somewhere cheaper. The other line always moves faster. In order to get a loan, you must first prove you don't need it. Anything you try to fix will take longer and cost you more than you thought. If you fool around with a thing for very long you will screw it up. If it jams - force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway. When a broken appliance is demonstrated for the repairman, it will work perfectly. Build a system that even a fool can use, and only a fool will use it. Everyone has a scheme for getting rich that will not work. In any hierarchy, each individual rises to his own level of incompetence, and then remains there. There's never time to do it right, but there's always time to do it over. When in doubt, mumble. When in trouble, delegate. Anything good in life is either illegal, immoral or fattening. Murphy's golden rule: whoever has the gold makes the rules. Nature always sides with the hidden flaw. A Smith & Wesson beats four aces. In case of doubt, make it sound convincing. Never argue with a fool, people might not know the difference. 3. Looks good moby!! Have you test fitted your seats yet? Tim
  4. 4 guys. Bolt two chains to the engine, one from the font (side to side), on on the rear (side to side). Put a 6 foot pole through each chain. Bolt the engine stand mount to the engine. One gut on each side of each pole. Lift and slide into engine stand. Tim
  5. TunerCat is ~$85 and the cable is ~$90, and FreeScan is, well free. It's money well spent. Tim
  6. Hey Scott......me thinks you need to invest in a tripod for the video camera
  7. Looking good!!!! I'd be interested to see how well that design would work for the Z? If it works, you may have a market....... I would have maybe dumped the #1 tube to a closer collector, but I don't know what your spacing in the bay is like. You know, just to try to even out the tube lengths a bit.... Look good though Tim
  8. You need to pull the belt away from the water pump, which is not belt driven, it's driven off the cam. This may illustrate a bit better: Tis is using the gutted PS pump as an idler. Here is the idler pulley I made to replace the AC pump (using the next size shorter belt)
  9. Terry, Yes the 280 ones are a bit taller. Not sure about the exact amount, but eyeballing it, it looks to be about 1 -1.5 inches. Tim
  10. Yeah, it looks like the air inside expanded from the heat and split the tube on the long seam. Tim
  11. The filter is pretty easy. Hopefully your tranny pan had a drain bolt? Just drain the fluid, unbolt the pan, drop it down, and you will see the filter element. Not sure about the 700, but the 350 and 400 have one bolt that hols the filter in place. Remember to remove the old gasket that's under the filter too and put the new one in. Tim BTW...did you receive the package?
  12. Could work, but I would still suggest the glue, filler route. Tim
  13. VB and MSA sell them. Not too expensive. Worth the money!!!! Don't even try to fix it, not worth the effort!! Tim
  14. The avatar is just an animated gif...should not be a problem....maybe your IE settings are too restictive? (sorry to hijack your post Jim)!!!
  15. Jim, Think very carefully about if you want to do this. I would not do it again if I were to do it over!!!! That metal on the cowl is very thin and very hard to sand the filler on. When you weld on it, it WILL warp, and you will have to recreate the bodyline that follows the hood power bulge. It took me about 60 hours to get mine right. It's alot of work. But if you have the time and patience, go for it. If it wasn't for the excellent advise from my neighbor (long time body man), I would never have gotten it looking right. What i would do instead, and my neighbor agrees, is just glue (with a body epoxy) a piece of sheetmetal under the vents, then fill the vents with fiberglass reinforced filler. Sand that down, then skim with plastic filler. Just trying to help someone from my limited experience..... Tim
  16. Damn Yahoo photos...I reloaded them to ImageStation. I couldn't see them either!!! Tim
  17. Hmmm....brings back fond (???) memories: Good luck....it looks great when it's done!!
  18. WOW Davy....it doesn't seem that long ago that we were all giving you a hard time about not having a Z at all!! I would be very interested to know how much the bodyshop is planning to charge for the removal of the drip rails. I removed mine and it took a lot of work to get the roofline looking perfect again.....but then again, I'm just a rookie! Tim
  19. That's totally photoshopped!! Tim

  21. Keep in mind that the 95 LT1 is the holy grail of LT1 engines. Last year of OBDI and has the vented Optispark. That's a very low mileage car and the car is complete. I would try to get it down to $2k to $2.5k if it was still available. If the rest of the car is good (interior etc), you could make up the difference with stuff that you could resell. I bought my 94 LT1/T56 froma Z28 for $1400, but for that price I had to pull the motor myself....no biggie. Tim
  22. I welded up a R180 for Dave Booth. We went the next weekend to the drags. After some pretty hard launches (about 6-8 or so in all) with street tires, that diff was whinning like an old wife all the way home. Never broke, but wasn't happy. Just a bit to add to the discussion. Welding the spider gears throws a bit more into the fray.... This was a sbc (~250hp) with a 700R4. Tim

  24. "Old enough to know, young enough not to care!"....but I catch myself starting to care Tim
  25. Moby, Sorry if this has been asked and answered already, but is the MSS a whole new system, or can the MS system be upgraded? Thanks, Tim
