  3. OH Hell yeah...that C6 is wayy better than the C5!! I remember how many people hated the C5 when it first came out. Hey...it's a Vette!! 'nuf said!! I think that they are going in the right direction with the C6...wish there were some pics of the front from above!! Tim
  4. Innocent until proven guilty? The tennant of the entire legal system. Tim
  5. Come on, John.......why not just drop in a V8 into your Z and do a comparo. Your L6 is in pieces right? Great timing! Tim
  6. They are completely different animals. I can't think of anything they have in common, appart from that they both have a crank, cam and 8 pistons bouncing up and down. Even the mounting is completely different. Tim
  7. That aluminum block in the PAW catalogue is not a LS1 block. It is a 'normal' SBC block, and they are very expensive. Tim BTW...Welcome aboard. Glad to see you are making use of the search function

  9. Hmmmm....it doesn't take into account the pre-21 age years. I probably drank more booze in the 16-21 years than in all the years after combined!! (I'm 32 now).
  10. YEah, there is a mess of vacuum lines under the dash. You could try pulling the lines out, one by one, inspecting and replacing. There is alimited number that you can get to, but if you pull a couple of panels from the underside of the dash (couple of screws here and there) you can get to more. You might get lucky and find a broken or cracked hose in a place that's accessible. By doing it one hose at a time, you will not have a problem with putting them back wrong. It's a b!tch job, but it may save you tons of $$ if you can find it yourself. Think of it....if the mechanic finds a cracked hose in an easily accessible place, don't you think that he may fix it in 5 minutes...park the car for a couple of days, then charge you $800 for the work.....nah, not a mechanic...they are very reputable....like used car dealers Also, maybe walk around a couple of junk yards and see if you can find a ZX with the dash removed. Then you can get a good look at where all the lines are. Tim
  11. Hmmm...I'm no art critic (but I play one on TV), but the page lacks 'punch'. Maybe it's the soft colors? Maybe that's what you are after? Like I said, though, I'm no expert.... Tim
  12. Rufus, When I did mine (which coincided with my subframe connectors), I cut out the rusted areas, which for the driver's side was to behind the drivers seat, and the pass. side was to just under the driver's seat (or maybe vise versa). Then I cut some 18g sheetmetal rectangles so that they were about 1-2 inches larger than the hole in the floor. I then seem welded on both overlaps, inside and outside. Plenty strong!! Tim
  13. CA, AZ and NV. Best places to look. What are you looking to spend? http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=27162 Tim
  14. Only problem I can see is that the Z mirror (even the OEM ones) are pretty small. From what I have picked up from having decals made, doing this with transfers (stickers that leave only the lettering behind) will be very difficult, and very expensive. When I had the decals made, I wanted them as transfers, but the cost per sticker would have been ~$25, and that was with fairly large graphics. Just my 2c worth. If you guys are serious, I can get some cost estimates. Tim
  15. For the jams, just back tape it and hit it with matt black rattle can. As for the hood vents, I think the contrast that breaks up the color on the hood looks nice (as you can see from mine). Take them off before you take the car in. Clean them up nicely and shoot it with bumper black rattle can. just my opinion. Tim
  16. It's personal preference. Since the panels are removeable, you could have them painted, then if you don't like them the same color, take them off and repaint them whatever color U want. If it was me, I would have the car painted white. It hides all but very major imperfections in the bodywork. Also, make sure that all of the oil and grease is out of the primer......I bet the shop won't be all that fussy about removing it. Tim
  17. I was thinking maybe one of those CO2 gear changers?
  18. Pete, Excuse my ignorance, but what is that doohickey in the second picture?
