If you want to do some "cooling overkill" on that 400 block.....
While it is out, tap threads into the freeze plug holes on the side of the block and run some external coolant piping. It gives some extra insurance against hotspots......
I think that with some nice wide rims and tires and a nice paint job, that car could be very nice indeed. Definitely fairly unique, and with some decent HP under the skin.......

Call BowtieOverdrives.com They get in a few trannys that have bad cases, so I'm sure that you would be able to get one from them. I got a 4L80E tail housing for my Dad from them for $50 a couple of years ago...
If the test results on the site are anything to go by, and the description of how it adheres to the base metal.......then I would say YES!
