  1. Just think what $1200 bucks could do for your Z though......plus double insurance, registration, tax etc......Plus you will have o smog this one, so no major mods...... **It's fun to be the wet blanket sometimes ** Congrats!
  2. Wheelman, Yes, this is gonna be for the 1940 Chevy. I will be running a 350ci from my old 71 truck (put another 350 in that). I am converting an LT1 intake to use a rear mount dizzy, and will use that intake with injectors and megasquirt system. I really want the simplicity of a carby with this project, but have the MS and want to use it. I also want the fuel economy that FI affords, since this project will be a family cruiser for long trips up the coast or to Vegas etc..... I will use MS for fuel control only (IE not ignition control). Tim
  3. I should have mine by the end of the week. I will post comments then....
  4. John...BTW the Miller makes me look like I can really weld like a pro!!!!
  5. I'm only using that Lt1 for a template as my other 350 is in the back of the garage. I know engine dynos use a water hose from a tap to a reservoir. As the water begins to heat up in the reservoir, I think they dump some while adding new cool water....maybe a JY radiator is easier.....
  6. Been wanting to make one for ages, so I finally just got into it. Since I don't have the space for yet another piece of equipment, I used my engine stand as a base. I still have to get the radiator, battery, gauges and wiring done, but this is the basic foundation...... I've seen others that use a garden hose attached to some kind of valving in place of a radiator, anyone know how to valve that up? BTW...I am not using that POS baby LT1 for anything other than pulling the intake (to convert to rear mount dizzy on my other engine) and template for dolly.....

  8. I have ordered one. If anyone has bought quality wire, you will agree it is a great deal: http://www.rs-autosport.com/ He also sells complete Megasquirt units Seems like a really good sorta guy.... http://www.msefi.com/viewtopic.php?t=1278&start=0
  9. If you dig the foundation/footers and lay the rebar, then you will just need the crete. About 18 yards worth (2 trucks). Just call the local concrete supplier and get a quote, have them pour it and finish it yourself..... Tim
  10. the last ode and homage to the late, great, Ron Reagan
  11. Mike!!!! You have been a member for 4 years tomorrow!!!!! and you still don't know how to post a picture?! For shame, for shame
  12. Man...if that was in Kalifornia, the cops would have beat the snot out of that guy!!! ....and I say GOOD!!!
  13. ha ha ha yeah.....what he said
  14. And a top fuel dragster would nail it in a drag race' date=' but still the Z06 is a sweet road car.....I am waiting for the Blue Devil though!!![/quote'] Very true. But the look on their faces when you spank them with a Z by a pretty good margin is priceless. Oh I bet!!
  15. They have something like that in Nevada too: http://www.silverstateclassic.com/

  17. I'd still take a Z06 anyday..... It's only money....
  18. I always put a film of white lithium grease on all bushing when I install them....never squeek.....or feed them some cheese Tim
  19. Why not just put down a water barrier (plastic), use a cage of rebar, and use 8 sack cement. That will stand up to anything. If it is as wet as you say, the steel will eventually rot away. Maybe some of the civil engineering types will chime in with some ideas too... Tim [edit].....with a sttel floor, if you ever have a shorted out electrical wire, you will be standing on a conductive floor!!![/edit]
  20. Well, since I live in a VERY TARGET rich environment (3 major targets within 2 miles of my house), I am very sensitive to reports of impending attacks!! Tim
