  1. Yeah...get rid of the platinums. Regular cheap old Champions or NGKs will be better. The LT1 guys over at Z28.com have had fits with the 'pricey' plugs. That hesitation could be any of a number of things. Like Mike suggested, change the opti. 7 times out 10 it is the problem. Might as well replace the water pump while you're in there.... Best place to get suff is from Jason Cromer at Sam Taylor Buick in Florida. BEST PRICES ANYWHERE for LT1 stuff!! http://www.samtaylor.com/html/parts.html Also check your plug wires. Make sure that the routing isn't making them jump spark. If you need new ones, let me know and I will post the MSD part number for teh cut to fit set that has the opti side pre-assembled.
  2. Sit on your porch with a pair of coverall on, a big wad of chewin tabacco in your cheek, and a 12 gauge in your hand.... I know what you mean, though!!! The worst are these damn 'underprivaledged' kids from 'other' areas that come in and give the 'canned' speech on how they need to go to Europe, so I need to give them $$$$. Or the 'Witnesses'....damn they are persistent!!! I took an old white Tee shirt and drew the pentagram on the front of it with red enamel.....when they knock on the door, I run into the room and put it on, open the door and just stare at them with no expression.....haven't seen any of them around lately....
  3. I had a bad false knock problem with my LT1. I chased it for months, but thanks to the suggestion from Mike (Mas280), I took out the knock sensor, wrapped a crapload of teflon tape around the threads, ran a seperate ground wire from the sensor to the block, and screwed it back in....problem solved..... I relocated my knock sensor to the boss above the oil filter, so it is much closer to the clutch and is likely getting a lot of false knock that way.....
  4. It was from a 1991 Sable. I'm just gonna use the high speed setting.
  5. I just bought a Taurus 2 speed at the JY ($14), so I will replace the 6 cylinder Camaro fan soon.
  6. The roof line seperates so you will have to weld. It's a good deal of work.... Tim
  7. Sorry...the only Mac I've ever touched is the 'Big' one at MacDonalds..... Maybe someone who actually uses one of those things will chime in.....and since 3% of our membership uses one, someone should be able to help
  8. You linked to the URL of the page where the pic resides. You have to right click on the picture, select properties, and copy and pste that url to the tags. Here is what I did:
  9. You do not have to remove the reinforcement brace that wraps around the tunnel. You may have to re-route your lines. I ran all new lines anyways, so I can't remember where the stock lines went....but yours look OK. ps..I editted your post to make the picture appear....
  10. I am using a Camaro radiator from a 4 cylinder Camaro. I am using the fan and 'shroud' from a 6 cylinder Camaro. Like I said, it is holding up fine, but I like overkill......
  11. I would need a naked picture of her to ensure correct sizing.
  12. DJ....do you have any pics of the radiator mounted? I also want to replace my JTR camaro radiator. Not because it can't keep up, but just for a little extra piece of mind.... Where did you order the radiator from and what part number? Thanks, Tim
  13. Right at this point in time the rolling 29 year rolling exemption is still in effect, thus in 2005 (just around the corner ), everthing 76 and older is exempt
  14. Terry....the thought has crossed my mind several times and the desire was burning.....but I never had the guts (or stupidity - depending on your mindset), to actually do it......those damn cones just beg to be slalomed!!
  15. OWNED!!! Ha Ha...what a bunch of tards....videotaping the evidence for the troopers to use.... ehh...kids
  16. Maybe try doing some of the leg work yourself.....search the forums and find the info....bottom line is that currently only Johns Cars makes a kit, otherwise you are on your own.....
  17. Drop Mike a PM. He ran a pretty highly modded LT1 in his Z, and then went LS1. His user name is MAS280..... Tim
  18. Damn Mike...U hit the lottery Looking good man!!!
  19. What radiator and fan? Is the fan shrouded?
  20. Likely 2 bolt. As for the LT4 conversion, I don't see why it wouldn't work, but it's a crap load of $$$ for the conversion parts for very little gain. Get a set of aftermarket heads (or a good port job on your heads), a good Crane or Comps cam, port your intake and get a bigger throttle body, and get a good dyno tune. Also, remember, the Caprice also came out with the L99 (4.3 liter LT1). They look almost identical, except for the 4.3 stamp on the rear of the block Tim
  21. You will need to keep 6 inches of fuel in the tank then.....
