  1. I've never done it, but from looking at the kit, it doesn't look al that hard, but can be deadly if you inhale the humes. At autozone they have a kit that has a little nipple plug that you hook up to the (i think) AC condenser.
  2. Awesome. looks like something darth vader would have. Didn't you get some discount with those IIRC?
  3. IIRC there is a part on the lock that warn and needs to be repaired by a locksmith. I don't remember if this had anthing to do with the actual arm movement.
  4. welding a continuous bead wouldn't be needed here, because he's dealing with sheet metal. He just needs something to do decent spot welding. Not going to go into explaining spot welding body panels. I'm sure TeeJayHoward knows how. If not he'll ask.
  5. can't you make one? Looks easy enough to build in concept
  6. Worst thing I did to someone's car was thermite my friend's beater in the desert in highschool (with is permission of course). Awesome to see an engine block melt straight through . worst car prank I did was. froze a can of shaving cream and let all the presure out and cut it open. then put the block into my friend's car at school as a prank. the foam grew over everything. Best one was filling my friend's truck with empty soda cans and saran wrapped the whole cabin shut, poured water over it, it was winter . Luckily I wasn't stupid enough to go out and chuck thing at other people. If I wanted to do that, I went to went to the baseball field.
  7. I would rent storage and welder. Just have everything before hand ready to put together. If you don't plan on welding many others thing after you're done with the car. I don't see the point in having a tool lay around when you probably not going to touch it for some odd years. If you can find a welder for less than the cost of renting one (total amount of days) then I say go for it. But expect it to be flus core which splatters everywhere and you're gonna need to do some grinding after wards. I got mine for $65 off of craigslist . All I can say is that it works . Extension cords: try to use one that has heavier guage wire. The "standard" ones usually melt at some point or can't handle the amperage draw because of the thinner gauge wire, and will cause the welder to slow wire feeding or do a stop-go motion.
  8. I would like to see the process of his tubing up front.
  9. couple loud firecrackers would scare the sh*t out of them Bang bang bang
  10. Kids these days, don't realize the consequences of their actions. Relying on either "If I get away with it" or "I'll get bailed out of this some how" relying on there parents or other mean. I think there are too many cases where the parents get blamed, In most cases I disagree with this, to a point. Its the parents responsibility to instill common sense into their kids, but the actions that the child does, is entirely their own. So I feel that the child should be fully responsible. This is why I wish society here didn't make spankings such a no no. Not a beating, but a mild disciplinary smack, and reasoning why after. That said, I think you are a better man than I. I would've lost it and probably do something mildly stupid . In response to the kid saying, that his dad would kill him. I would of asked him why he did what he did if he knew his dad was going to kill him? Kids these days can be such idiots.
  11. Hate to dig up an old thread, but any updates?
  12. run a continuity check on the 12v wire then
  13. search that site. They have body kits for 280zx.
  14. Wow. didn't think I would get it that close.
  15. A chevy v8 with an unconventionally large supercharger setup, with reverse flow heads? IDK
  16. Also, you have to have it heated before applying. I think its redundant if you have enough for a couple cars when you're just needing to apply one car.
  17. Kind of a pain to work with from what I've seen. you need to get a special gun and hose to apply it. I think that its one of those things that is better off having a shop do.
  18. MAS isn't gonna do you much good inless you have a aftermarket ems setup. the stock air flow meter was more of an on/off switch than an analog sensor.
  19. I think part of the reason the 350z looks the way it does, is because of all the safety features that were "needed" to go into production. IIRC the first concept presented, looked alot more like the 240z (still ugly IMO). If you imagine this in production form, you wouldn't find much space to put all the things that the safety regs say are needed. But that said, everytime I look at the pics, makes me want to try to build one (most likely fail miserablely )
  20. the doors look like the hyundai genisis (not good or bad). I would of like to se the subtle budge on the front fenders like it does on the original and the hatch in the 3/4 shot doesn't look substantial enough, like it doesn't show enough to the c pillar, but that could just be because of the angle of the upper sides of the car where the windows are. headlights look like that they are from a neon. hood looks like it can be adapted from a 280zx. So who wants to go ahead and build one . I wouldn't mind helping if I can only test drive it once
