  1. very unfortunate for me then . SO I guess x5 your price for me?
  2. How much did you pay for the sub frame? 240sx and gts. I think I might try to do this also (eventually..... hopefully). I like that fact that you don't have to go searching for 0 offset wheels.
  3. no. Only pre 76 280z or later model 260z (don't remeber the year of when they changed it for the 260z)
  4. See if it has the timing diagram sticker still on the hood. I haven't heard of anybody reproducing steel hoods for S30 before, All have been composite. But I could be wrong.
  5. You can minimize the amount of indentation from the die, by packing the pipe with sand, in like a canvas bag or something.
  6. I got a set with the tensioner also
  7. Shift

    shift knobs

I just cut off the threaded part and cut the head off of a bolt and welded the bolt to the shifter. I didn't find very many shifters that would fit onto such a small thread size.
  8. Just realized that half of the vid was just messing around. Isn't that how it always is when working on a car
  9. http://www.uniquepeek.com/viewpage.php?page_id=1323
  10. poke around the floor boards with a screw drive. and ask to see if you can pop off a fender to check for frame straightness.
  11. I'm suer you can get a temp day pass so You can legally drive it to get it inspected. Its like $20 here.
  12. I assume you didn't swap the vin plate on the dash, when you swapped the dash.
  13. Yes, but..... You are going to run into the same problems with any impact to any of those panels. It will save you a lot of trouble later, to work the panel separately and not blend them together. Like when you want to replace a fender. I could tell you stories.
  14. Then sounds like us first gen guys won't be doing this mod anytime soon.
  15. My suggestion is (after viewing the photos), never use body filler as a bonding agent. Body panels flex thats part of the reason why they are in sections (panels). Unmount the panels and finish off the edges, then mount. Even though you may think its mounted perminately and won't move enough to break the filler, it will. reason is how differently heat effects metal and fiberglass.
  16. I've searched and didn't really find much. Has anybody done this before? My idea was (as far as the glass goes) 1. Mask off whole outer section and most of the inner section of the glass, leaving 1/8th inch border. 2. etch using etching for glassware (craft store stuff, I know blasting is out of the question) 3.Build a mold using latex and bondo for the border. 4. use urethane as the border and put bungs for mounting while molding. I got some messed up qtr glass (was welding near it and got some splatter on it) laying around that I want to test with. Any advice will be helpful .
  17. if all the other numbers/letters match up. then its obviously a typo. the "L" stands for left hand drive and the "S30" is the chassis designation. I haven't heard of a nissan chassis being a "530" before, but I could be wrong
  18. do you have pics? So we can get a better understanding of how you mounted it?
  19. I don't think it would look very goo and the amount of metal and location needing to be taken out would cause i to loose strength, the qtr windows would also get in the way.
  20. Just get a cheap welder from like craigs list or something. I got mine use and works fine for like $50
