  1. sounds like your better off just buying a new head unit. wouldn't think one with an aux would cost more than $100 inless you want bells and whistles.
  2. is it a button? Could be the switch for the glove box light.
  3. I have a feeling that this is going to be the next "350z/g35". Meaning that they're going to be ALL OVER the freakin place, enough to make me sick of them. From reviews from fifthgear, its more effortless and doesn't give you a sense of accomplishment, like you would in a car that has "quarks". I would like to see some crash so someone on here can start their gtr35 "godzilla" swap. Whats the name that nissan designate the engine?
  4. Hmmm. Mine was on the center console and was a rocker switch. what year car is it from?
  5. Unplug power from tower. Open the case. un plug the ATX connector (power connector to the MB). See if any pins are discolored on the cable. Plug it back in if not. locate the CMOS batter (looks like a watch battery). remove it. locate the BIOS jumper (little black, yellow, green, blue, or red plastic thingy that is used to complete a circuit on 2 of a set of 3 pins. Usually located near the battery). re-place it so that the other pin is connected instead how it was before. wait 30 sec. then place it back how it was originally. place battery back in. Plug power and is if it POST beeps. If it doesn't, unplug everything from the motherboard except power supply, and processor/fan. Then plug power and see if it POSTs then. If it doesn't, then it could be one or a combination of the components (PSU, motherboard, or processor). Some times it just can be bad RAM. And sometime it just needs to sit for a while. I've seen all sorts of these problems, and sometimes the fix isn't what you expect.
  6. I'll take a look and post a pic tomarrow. iirc the tension bars cross.
  7. idk. kinda looks like shrek ears
  8. Because, they don't make a 4 1/2" speedo guage last time I looked. The Bike guage has turn signal flasher and digital tach read out.
  9. sx uses a sender(electric) not a cable(mechanical).
  10. Well CC made 2 mistakes. One on the local level and, one on the corp level. 1.screwing up in the first place. 2. "Putting" off addressing the issue from customers complaints. Now to just clarify. The owner didn't generalize (at first) that its whole CC corp fault. He specify which store was at fault. He also started the thread AFTER taking it to the NY CC location and there opinion on what to do. The district manage told him to take it to a dealer and get an estimate to repair it to OEM state (could be just generalized statement from owner's post). Stating "to OEM state" justifies the EVERYTHING listed, regardless if some parts only slightly superficially damaged. So I guess they made 3 mistakes:p
  11. Same here. Didn't know that there was a shuttle service either, but I do know that there might be a chance that they might not have such a service. I know that some do offer loaners. Good advice. When I have work done, I usually expect it to take a couple days anyways, just in case, and make arrangements. Sometimes I do yell as someone because of something, but always clarify that its not them that I'm mad at, its just the frustration of being in that situation.
  12. Had a 87 tempo that the milage turn back over ALL zeros. I taped it. was back when I was in high school. Pretty sure that its still on a server somewhere
  13. Just thinking about. Wouldn't be easier to just get a rwd tranny from any make and making an adaptor plate or modding the bell housing?
  14. Oh. ok I thought its was metal . if the general shape isn't affected, then sand it with 320 grit. Mix some bondo with some resin and then mix some hardener. slap it on there as flush as possible. Then wipe it with some asotone. Sand with 600 grit and then 800. paint and should be good.
  15. any updates? Might want to post a thread on a less specialized auto forum thats based in your area.
  16. thread was started like thursday or friday so i think its going to be a while before we see a conclusion.
  17. Haha My 87 tempo was worse than that and I still ran it. Inspection didn't care lol. I don't think that splicing is really a big issue, just how you splice, but the fact that they carried a harness to just plug in everything, makes it just stupid. Could be a case of the author calling CC and seeing if its done, and the tech saying that they didn't have the harness adaptor at the moment, and the author saying "Just get it done", and no one documenting the call. Seems like CC had the car for a while. Why even do all that work, when you can just wait for an adaptor. And as far as the head unit fitting and all that cutting, They should of called to inform the owner that the unit won't fit into the car because of "said" issue, and ask him if he wanted to come in and choose a different head unit that would fit. I have to admit, the tweeter section was just crap. And IMO cutting anything on an audio install besides wires is a BIG no no. I personally, would not have any work done (besides maintainence) to a brand new car, for risk of voiding the warranty (I'm to lazy to read, so best to be safe ^^). Which I'm sure the splicing did void it. thinking about it, they could of just used tap connectors. Never do ANYTHING to a car, untill the warranty is up, except maintainence. Part of the reason price is so high on cars. Seems counter productive to spend money on voiding the warranty. If you REALY REALY want something done to the car, then be ready to study the fine print before doing so. If you still want a sound system installed. See if a place does installation on european cars. There is a reason why BB and CC don't do installs and on euros, they can't do it properly because part of the engine management system is tied into the stereo some how and the car won't pass IM inspection if aftermarket stereo is installed improperly. And big names stores that you have issues with, documentation is EVERYTHING. Part of the reason why I carry a tape recorder everywhere I go. never use it but good to know its there. Plus its saves SO MUCH TIME when you threaten someone with there own word. As far as what I think will happen. He will either get his compensation, but it going to take forever for him to get it, or its going to be messy because of the press its been getting. i could be wrong .
  18. I was going to suggest on using a silicone layer and lay a fiberglass backing, but the gel coat process looks alot more cleaner for the size (Always have issues using the silicone method with items over 2 1/2 feet).
  19. I forgot who, but there's a guy on this forum that has a stroked turboed L28 and said he was getting like (I want to say) 27-35 mpg(?). I think thats a goo start. Might want to search for that.
  20. Did suby make a rwd tranny? IIRC they only 2wd ones were fwd. like the xt4 and the earlier rwd (I'm assuming they made them) are to weak to hold up to a flat 6. I could be wrong. My suby history is a bit rusty. Oh I recall there being a drift impreza with the IC mounted in some weird way on the sides a couple years ago. Might want to look up what they used. I'm to lazy to look it up.
  21. wonder how he got the speedo to work. wonder if it use a sender or cable and if its able to be calibrated.
