  1. As has been said, its been designed to take a rubber gasket so fitting could be a problem without that gasket. The idea behind glueing the windscreen in is good but if you are chasing body stiffness then there are other non experimental ways to do that.
  2. Push the PC button and off some people go, gives them something to feel self righteous about I guess.
  3. On the weight thing, friend of mine has a hybrid 260Z with a RB30ET donk, my hybrid S130 two seater has a VG30DET in it. Similar specs otherwise eg both have half cages, and guess what? They both weigh the same, 1240kg. Having previously built a hybrid S30 my preference is the S130. The body is stronger, aero is better and with a nose change and decent wheels it looks better, particularly around the side glass area where I think the S30 looks antique, compared with the rest of the car. Quite simply I would never go back to a S30.
  4. Disclaimer: No drugs were involved in the making of this film
  5. With the part time race S30 I used to get front brake pad knock off with the wheel bearings adjusted as per the manual. So, referring to John's procedure, instead of finally backing off the nut I used to take it up snug but with no or very little preload. Never had any wheel bearing problems and knock off was virtually eliminated. Grease used was Slick 50 One Grease. But for a road only car John's procedure is the go.
  6. Other than what has already been mentioned, a bent stub axle. Which could throw the bearing alignment out.
  7. Being picky on the second one, he should have braked to prevent that roll back across the track. That can get quite scarey for the following car, the spinner can get T boned.
  8. Not much race circuit incar lately so lets go JDM And as a bonus here is a friend looping his evil handling Datto hybrid 1200 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klzZuN5SVH4
  9. They look the same as the Aussie 240Z lights, except the horizontal bar across the centre has two chromed ribs on the Aussie ones. On those Ebay pics the ribs don't appear to be chromed.
  10. $900 because they have amber turn indicators?
  11. As a matter of interest, why do people ask questions like this? Surely if you want a body kit its because you like the look of a particular kit, what it does to the appearance of your car. So why ask anonymous others to make choices?
  12. Can never understand why some people bid days before the due date, all that really does is alert others that they have some competition. Best to do nothing until the last minute and so avoid bidding wars that may get unrealistic. Yeh I enter the highest price I will pay, if someone wants to go higher then good luck to them. Sometimes I snipe, sometimes I get sniped, its all good clean intrawebs fun
  13. Remember this from the other forum, love the attention to detail and 'no compramise' approach. Where is it up to now?
  14. Suze diMarchi with the Baby Animals http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHTfh2r3880 And, Grace Knight with the Eurogliders http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJou-XIUywQ And Heart are great too:)
  15. Don't think its anything to do with aftermarket, S chassis cars had a viety of CV setups, from tripod to the one pictured. In my opinion the tripod type are good for 300whp, providing the cluch is not side stepped.
  16. No moderator check as far as I know, sometimes the thumbnail facility is available sometimes not. Other than that as far as I know this forum is no different to others.
  17. This bloke has done one Ian http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=146135 and I'm fairly sure he has done quite a few write ups on it. VG block has a different gearbox pattern to the VQ I'm betting.
  18. Knock, knock, who's there
  19. If I knew for sure I could get a VG33 to play with I'd get these. There, is that a lame excuse or what
  20. I'd assume the gearbox would be the same as for other VQ conversions people here have done, the six speed 350Z box from memory. A search will help on this and other relevant things. Interesting project, just a road car?
  21. Where is your summary and comment John? I am not even going to pretend that I understand half of that but seeing it mentions pitch the Aussie V8 Supercars pitch a lot which indicates no anti dive. Not particularly a fan of them but they are highly developed for what they are, a NASCAR that goes round corners, so obviously there is a good reason for their particular setup. My own very modest experience indicates that for a circuit/road course car you don't want anti dive or anti squat because, apparently, they interfere with the sensitivity of suspension compliance.
  22. Looking forward to seeing the final product, seems like its going to be a model for others to follow which is always a good thing. Covering the font face of the tyres is something of particular interest because stock airdams rarely do this when wider wheels/track are involved. All we need now is a definitive aero undertray that incorporates effective yet practical downforce generators. Practical in that they don't get damaged on the first speed bump they encounter
  23. The critical thing seems to be the location of the vent immediately in front of the V motor. Assuming a V motor is set back close to the firewall, there will always be a fair space between the radiator and the front of the motor which means that the vent will be located part way along the bonnet away from the high pressure area at the front. So yeh, it should work on a S30 with a V motor. As to the shape/type of vent, seeing its for air exit it should face back a bit with preferably a lip in front to direct oncoming exterior air up over the vent. The vent could be located in a 'power bulge' as long as it follows the 'rules' above, I think
  24. Whichever design is the most adjustable would be my suggestion for a dual purpose car eg adjustable for anti squat.
