  1. In the US why would anyone go with a RB26 when a LS will fit? JDM madness?
  2. Ah yes but with this one there is no maintenance required Well maybe a bit of polish.
  3. Isn't this pretty http://www.perthmint.com.au/catalogue/datsun-240z-1ozsilver-proof-coin.aspx
  4. Yeh well there is a countryman of mine competing, ex Supercar champ, besides those oval speedway tracks would have to be a blast to drive on, pedal to the metal all the way. Bristol Speedway highlights, go Marcos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVCl10GD-U0
  5. Sorry, no idea with a S30, mine is a 280ZX. Fairly sure someone on this forum has done it though so search?

  6. MX5/Miata is an excellent choice, friend of mine races one, utterly reliable, never any problems.
  7. Now looking for a set of new Tomei Poncams, new aftermarket valve springs and new or near new stock hydraulic lifters. I can get new Poncams from Japan for ~US$1700 delivered.
  8. The Basset 15 x 10" weigh 20 pounds, thats pretty good isn't it for that size? They claim 'the lightest'. Interesting.
  9. Rubber strip around the front of the car would be good, if its part of a full aero package including similar strips along the sides. One without the other is fairly pointless. Then there is the undertray, rear diffuser................ On the overall approach and particularly the rear, pics and details of LeMans sports cars would be useful. Maybe the older ones before the main straight was shortened, they had long tails and are quite distinctive in appearance.
  10. Irrespective of weight the 200SX are a more modern design caliper, plus they are likely to have a wider and cheaper range of pads available. If you really want light go for aluminium calipers, some Nissans had them. On rotors, slotted is good in that it improves braking performance at the expense of more pad wear. Can make a whirring noise too.
  11. Hey mate Angus 260z... Ive got a datsun 260z 2+2 also got R33 diff and diff cadle just need some info on how to put it in??? Cheers

  12. The distributor and some of the sparky wires on that bike are awfully close to the ........ front of the seat. Could get, ummmm, interesting, in the rain.
  13. That rear spoiler arrangement is interesting, it may reduce drag by cleaning up the rear airflow plus help stability. Obviously the air scoops are draggy but on the whole the car could be quite good for its purpose aero wise. Anyway, someone out there going as fast as they can in the Z which has to be a good thing.
  14. Driving on the left side of the road will probably be the biggest problem, I know driving on the other side in the US was for me. Just expect the roads to be crap and crowded and you won't be disappointed
  15. Own a custom classic eh, oh dear, the things people do to the Z car. Well at least its a +2 and not a coupe I suppose.
  16. Well here is a R32 anyway, being driven properly And thats a 'nothing special' run in a daily driver, there are quicker ones with dedicated time attack cars.
  17. Similar comparo substituting the 370Z for the R35 would be interesting or else compare a R34 with a 35. Concept of the Z cars and the Skyrines is quite different, both have a lot of separate history. Shall I find another kickarse R34 vid for you blokes, get this in perspective?
  18. Nice time of year to visit, still winter but no snow around Sydney but be warned, expensive for visitors. Plenty of beaches, no need to go to Newcastle which is a fair way away, very long way away from where I live Hope you enjoy, some of us are cunts but not everyone
  19. Only skimmed through this but before trying to start it you did drain all the stale fuel out and replace it with fresh didn't you? It would have been best to disconnect the fuel line at the engine and pump fresh fuel through it too. Lots of other things should have been done as well before trying to start a car that has sat for ten years.
  20. The British original of The Office is hilarious, can't recall anything about cars on that one but it was a while ago.
  21. About time I asked the a previous question once again - why design a strut brace with joins that allow movement? Not picking on you h4, strut bars with movement allowing rod ends are quite common. So you are excused The whole idea of a strut bar is to prevent movement, its not that hard to fabricate a solid bar with no adjustment and bolt it solidly to the towers. If captive nuts for the bolts can be welded in then better still.
  22. Yeh a bit more track on the front of a S30 can help turn in. Mine was done using wider hubs from another Datsun model, a 70's 240K sedan from memory. Which may not have been sold in the US?
  23. Maybe the better question is how will the turbo 4 stack up against the present NA 6 which many present Falcon owners are familiar with. Fours replacing sixes do not have a good success history so Ford are going to have to work hard on this one.
  24. Is it faster than a Porsche though
  25. WTB new or as new high performance camshafts, solid and hydraulic valve lifters, valves, retainers, etc. Name brands eg JWT, Tomei etc only please, cams should include factory timing info and full specs. Can pay by Paypal, Visa, items will need to be mailed to Australia which is a fairly simple process I understand and I'll need to be satisfied as to the integrity of any deal. Not interested in paying retail prices, PM best, thanks, Richard.
